Rapper to release book of lyrics and stories in November.

Eminem plans to explain songs from The Marshall Mathers LP in a book set for release in November. "Angry Blonde" will feature lyrics from the rap star's albums and unreleased material as well as personal stories about his life and commentary about his songs, according to a HarperCollins spokesperson. ...

Mariah Carey and Britney Spears are among the stars with jeans up for auction on Yahoo!, the Web site said in a release. Proceeds from the celebrity auction will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. ... Sugar Ray's follow-up to last year's 14:59 will have "a lot more extremes of hip-hop and rock, yet with the pop appeal in the melodies," according to the group's DJ Homicide. The band is about half done writing the album and hopes to have it out in February. Homicide said the LP will likely feature some "cool collaborations" but declined to elaborate. ...

Blink-182 will post a song from their upcoming live album, Blink-182 Live: The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back), on Sept. 1 at www.blink182.com, a band spokesperson said. The song, "Man Overboard," is the sole studio track scheduled to appear on the disc. ... Rapper Xzibit will join Limp Bizkit, Eminem and Papa Roach on their joint tour this fall, according to a spokesperson. Dates have not been announced for the outing, which is expected to kick off in early October. Xzibit will release The Restless LP on Nov. 7. ...

Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, TLC), have signed a joint venture agreement with Arista Records, Arista said in a release. Under the three-year agreement, Arista will market, distribute and promote records on Jam and Lewis' Flyte Tyme label, while Jam and Lewis will produce artists on Arista and its sister labels. ... "Pretty Little Things" by Nashville pop-rock band Hangman's Daughter is the first winner of MP3.com's "Who Wants To Be on a Movie Soundtrack" contest, the company announced on Wednesday (Aug. 30). Karen Rachtman, who served as music supervisor on films such as "Pulp Fiction" and "Boogie Nights," chose the song from more than 800 entries and will choose as many as five more tracks by MP3.com artists for inclusion in an unnamed film. The deadline to enter the contest's second phase is Sept. 11. ...

"Broken Home," the second single from Papa Roach's sophomore album, Infest, will hit radio Sept. 6. It follows the band's breakthrough hit "Last Resort." Rappers Tha Alkaholiks will collaborate with Eminem on a track for their upcoming album, XO, due in February, the group said. Pop group the Spice Girls plan to release a double A-side as the first single from their upcoming album, Forever (Nov. 7), their publicist said. The single, which should surface in October, will feature the songs "Holler" and "Let Love Lead the Way," both co-written and produced by famed hip-hop/R&B producer Rodney Jerkins (Brandy, Michael Jackson). Forever, which follows 1997's Spiceworld, also features production work by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson). ... Jewel has re-recorded her holiday song "Face of Love" as a duet with talk show host Rosie O'Donnell. The song, whose original version appeared on Jewel's 1999 album Joy: A Holiday Celebration, will be released in time for the holidays. ...
