A California man is suing Duran Duran for listing his home phone number on their Web site as the contact number for such items as T-shirts and tickets. The band is not commenting on the suit, which seeks unspecified damages. Cornell Zachary, 56, claims his health was permanently ruined by the multitude of calls he received. ... Tupelo, Miss., the hometown of Elvis Presley, will celebrate the King of Rock 'n' Roll during the second annual Elvis Presley Festival starting Thursday (Aug. 3). The four-day event, dubbed "Tupelo, Mississippi: Where It All Began," will feature performances from such artists as jump-blues group Roomful of Blues, singer/songwriter Delbert McClinton and the Mississippi Mass Choir. Germany's Ruf Records label is planning a tribute to Jimi Hendrix due Sept. 12, the same day MCA Records will release The Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will unveil an exhibit honoring the late guitarist. Blue Haze: The Songs of Jimi Hendrix, which will be distributed in the United States by House of Blues Music Co., features interpretations of the guitar legend's music by a wide variety of artists, including Taj Mahal performing "All Along the Watchtower" and Alvin Youngblood Hart doing "Remember." The 14-track CD also includes appearances by Buddy Miles and Double Trouble, who cover "The Wind Cries Mary" and Michelle Shocked, who does "House Burning Down." ... Martha Stewart Living's Spooky Scary Sounds For Halloween, due Sept. 5, will be the first theme album for home entertaining released by Martha Stewart Living and Rhino Entertainment, the companies announced. "Thong Song" singer Sisqó, whose ballad "Incomplete" is at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, has signed a television sitcom development deal with Big Ticket Televison, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, Sisqó and TV actor Shemar Moore have been tapped to host the sixth annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards. Joan Osborne will tour behind the Sept. 12 release of Righteous Love, her first album of new material since 1995's triple-platinum Relish.
