Matchbox Twenty To Launch U.S. Arena Tour

Pop-rockers will hit the road Sept. 12 in New Orleans.

Pop-rockers Matchbox Twenty have announced the dates for the first leg of their North American headlining tour.

The Mad Season tour, which will hit mostly college arenas, kicks off Sept. 12 in New Orleans.

The first leg runs through Oct. 2, with the Jayhawks aboard as the opening act. The full trek will move into 2001.

Matchbox Twenty, who recently completed a short club tour, released their second album, mad season by matchbox twenty, in May. The LP's first single, "Bent," hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Their 1996 debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, has sold more than 11 million copies in the United States.
