Dandy Warhols Drummer Eric Hedford Departs

No permanent replacement named; Brent DeBoer to sit in on upcoming Euro-tour.

Dandy Warhols drummer Eric Hedford has left the band to pursue other interests, according to the band's Capitol Records label.

The quartet, formed in Portland, Ore., in 1992, released its most recent album of neo-psychedelic pop tunes, The Dandy Warhols Come Down, to critical acclaim last summer.

The remaining Dandys have not yet selected a full-time replacement for Hedford, but as reported Friday in SonicNet Music News, drummer Brent DeBoer will accompany the band on a 21-date European tour that begins April 13.

"Eric has a DJ thing he does in Portland -- DJ Aquaman," said Donna Salazar, a publicist at the band's label. "That's what he'll be doing. It's something he's been doing for years."

Salazar said the label has no comment on Hedford's departure at this time.
