About Young The Giant

  1. Formerly known as The Jakes (and even heard on MTV's Real World), Young The Giant have taken the indie rock world by storm with their Newport Beach-inspired sound. A relatively young band in this incarnation, they've seen their singles hit the top five on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, played at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, and found themselves on tour with established rock groups such as Incubus and Minus The Bear. Now, coming off their performance at Austin City Limits Music Festival and their ranking on Billboard's Top 100, Young the Giant stopped by to play songs from their self-titled debut album for MTV's 'Unplugged.'
