OFFICIAL RULES
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
2. Promotion Period: "MTV Discover & Download Contest" (the "Contest") commences at 6:00 a.m. (ET) on October 23, 2006 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on November 6, 2006. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on November 6, 2006.
3. Eligibility: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 13 years of age or older at time of entry; provided, however, that Grand Prize Winners must be at least 18 years of age as a condition of receiving a Grand Prize. VOID WHEREVER PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. Employees (and the immediate members of their families and households) of MTV Networks, Viacom International Inc., Island Def Jam Music Group ("IDJ") Hollywood Records, J Records, Geffen Records, the Artists, Artist's management company, Pop2Life, and the respective parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies of each and their respective sponsors advertising agencies (the foregoing, collectively, the "Contest Entities") or any person who has won an MTVN National Contest or Sweepstakes in the 2006 calendar year are not eligible to win a prize. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, by the decisions of MTVN, which are final in all matters relating to this Contest, and furthermore acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules.
4. To Enter: The Contest will be posted on MTV.com (the "Web Site"), a web site owned and controlled by MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. ("MTVN"), starting at or around 6:00 a.m. (ET) on October 23, 2006 and ending at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on November 6, 2006. Participants must complete all required fields on the online entry form, including, selecting his/her preferred artists from the list provided, and submit such entry form as directed. Entries submitted in accordance with these Official Rules shall be collectively referred to hereinafter as the "Eligible Entries." You may enter as many times as you wish but limit one prize per person or household. All entries become the property of MTVN.
5. Winner Selection and Notification: Four (4) grand prize winners (the "Grand Prize Winners"), ten (10) first prize winners (the "First Prize Winners"), and twenty-five (25) second prize winners (the "Second Prize Winners" and together with the Grand Prize Winners and the First Prize Winners, the "Winners") will be chosen at random by MTVN, on or about November 10, 2006 from among all Eligible Entries received. The odds of winning will be determined by the total number of Eligible Entries received by MTVN.
Over the 48 hour period following the drawing, MTVN will make a maximum of two (2) attempts to reach the potential Winners via telephone at the phone number(s) provided on the entry form. If any potential Winner cannot be reached during the 48 hours in which he or she is called (no messages will be left on answering machines or voicemail systems) such potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential Winner may be selected at random from among all of the remaining Eligible Entries received.
In the event of non-compliance by any potential Winner, such potential winner shall be disqualified and all privileges otherwise due as a Winner shall be terminated and an alternate winner may be chosen from among all of the remaining Eligible Entries received, in MTVN's sole discretion. All Winners and the Guests of Grand Prize Winners (and the parent or legal guardian of Winners and Guests, if minors), as a condition of receiving a prize, much sign (a) an affidavit of eligibility and liability releasing the Contest Entities and their respective employees, from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and/or damage, theft, loss, or any other harm suffered in connection with this Contest or the use or acceptance of a prize, and (b) except where prohibited, a promotional release granting the right to use his or her name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. Entry into this Contest constitutes all entrants' agreement to sign such releases. Winners must also complete any additional legal documents provided by MTVN with respect to the prizes and return them to as instructed. Noncompliance by a Winner may result in such Winner's disqualification. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY A WINNER (AS SOLELY DETERMINED BY MTVN) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS A WINNER OF "MTV DISCOVER & DOWNLOAD CONTEST" AND ALL PRIVILEGES A WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. Upon receipt of a prize, Winners are required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. All taxes on the prizes as well as any expenses which are not expressly set forth in these Official Rules are Winners' sole responsibility.
6. Prizes:
Grand Prize Winners and their respective Guests must be at least 18 years of age at the time of prize fulfillment unless Grand Prize Winner is the parent or legal guardian of his/her Guest. Grand Prize Winners and Guests must possess and present to MTVN a valid, government-issued photo identification proving age and residency no later than three days following notification by MTVN. Failure to timely provide the foregoing documents may result in disqualification of Grand Prize Winners and an alternate winner may be selected by MTVN in its sole discretion.
For First Prizes and Second Prizes: Arrangements for the fulfillment of the prizes will be made by MTVN within approximately eight weeks of winner selection.
For all prizes: The approximate retail value (the "ARV") of the Grand Prize is $4819.98, the ARV of each First Prize is $509.98 and the ARV of each Second Prize is $60. The total ARV of all prizes to be awarded in this Sweepstakes is $25,879.72 but may vary due to current market conditions at time of prize fulfillment and the exact itineraries of the Grand Prizes. No substitution, transfer of the prizes (or any portion thereof) or cash alternative permitted, except by MTVN, due to prize unavailability at time of award or circumstances beyond MTVN's control, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. All details related to the prizes not specified herein shall be determined in MTVN's sole discretion. The URGE All Access to Go subscriptions will expire one (1) year from the date of activation. Winners will have the opportunity to renew their URGE subscriptions by entering credit card information at the time of expiration and paying the applicable subscription fee.
7. No responsibility is assumed for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by a participant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest or by any human error, which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Contest. The Contest Entities are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, networks, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or media on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of any and all sponsors which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest or for any reason MTVN or any and all sponsors deem it necessary, including but not limited to modification or cancellation of time spent with the Artist or of the Artist's concert date, MTVN and any and all sponsors reserve the right in their sole and unequivocal discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or prizes. In such event, MTVN may then award the prizes by a random drawing from among all remaining Eligible Entries received prior to cancellation, termination, modification or suspension of the Contest. Entries that have been tampered with or altered are void. In the event of a dispute over who submitted a winning entry, the authorized account holder of the winning e-mail account will be declared the winner. An authorized account holder is defined as the person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All interpretations of the rules and decisions by MTVN are final. MTVN reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game or Website; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, MTVN AND SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT/INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE NEW YORK COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THE CONTEST AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK SHALL GOVERN THE CONTEST. EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THESE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS.

Each Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip for two to attend a concert at a location to be determined (the "Concert City") by the artist selected on his/her winning entry (the "Artist"). One trip per Artist will be awarded. Each trip includes: (a) coach air transportation for Grand Prize Winner and one (1) guest (the "Guest") from an airport of MTVN's choice near Grand Prize Winner's residence to Concert City (if Grand Prize Winner and/or Guest live within 150 miles of Concert City, ground transportation will be substituted in place of air transportation); (b) hotel accommodations for Grand Prize Winner and Guest for two (2) nights in Concert City (costs for room and tax only based on one room with double occupancy; meals, telephone calls and other incidentals are not included); (c) roundtrip ground airport transfers to and from the hotel while in Concert City; (d) two (2) tickets to see the Artist perform in Concert City, (e) an opportunity for Grand Prize Winner and Guest to spend time with the Artist at a scheduled activity in the Concert City (the "Activity") (details of the Activity and exact amount of time spent with the Artist is subject to Artist availability and determined in MTVN's sole discretion), (f) ground transportation to and from the concert and Activity, (g) one (1) Iriver Clix Mp3 player, (h) one (1) Dell Inspiron E1705 Laptop Computer, (I one (1) Jansport Livewire Backpack, (j) one year-long URGE All Access to Go subscription to the URGE digital music service and (k) four (4) CD's from Discover & Download Artists (the "Grand Prize"). - First Prizes (10):
Each First Prize Winner will receive a prize package consisting of (a) one (1) Iriver Clix Mp3 player, (b) one (1) Jansport Livewire Kingpin Backpack, (c) one year-long URGE All Access to Go subscription to the URGE digital music service and (d) Four (4) CD's from Discover & Download Artists (the "First Prize"). - Second Prizes (25):
Each Second Prize Winner will receive a collection of four CD's featuring MTV Discover & Download Artists (the "Second Prize").
