Going to college and putting out your own albums isn't easy--just ask Xoch. The female singer-songwriter is currently pursuing a degree in performing arts (she's got a 4.0 GPA) and has released two independent discs--her 2003 full-length debut The One and a 2004 EP titled Cabaret.
While Xoch (pronounced "zoach" and meaning "the goddess of flower and song") is getting a higher education, she's also busy traversing between the rock and pop worlds in her music. With wide-ranging influences like Madonna, Marilyn Manson, Tori Amos and Butch Walker, Xoch's catchy, rock-inspired sound is both upbeat and guitar-heavy.
In 2005, U.K.-based Now and Then Records released The One in Europe, and her music has been prominently featured in many commercials, films and other media, including the DVDs for MTV's hit reality TV series Laguna Beach.
