Houston, Texas' Marcus Manchild is talented enough to make it in rap without any co-signs, but a little love from a couple of hometown heroes never hurt anyone.

Marcus, who appeared in a Get in the Game segment on "RapFix Live" back in September, is getting ready to drop his Space Jams 2 mixtape. While Manchild is still a relative newcomer, he has been learning lessons from a couple of OG's — Slim Thug and Paul Wall — for quite some time now.

"I kinda like guide him, give him a little game, what to do, what not to do," Thugga told Mixtape Daily of his relationship with Manchild. "It's just like family, man, we just want to see him shine and keep the Houston movement going, man. That's it."

As part of the AMG clique, Marcus has built quite the rep for himself, thanks to the rambunctious "Get Off Me" and his original Space Jams mixtape. MM's latest single, "Problems," features Bun B, so he clearly has no shortage of support.

For Wall, it's all about building positive relationships. He understands how quickly today's up-and-coming rappers can become tomorrow's superstars. "It's good to build relationships, because when you come back to the city, you never know who you gonna holla at or who you gonna need or vice versa. You gonna be in a position to help them out," he said.

There are no ulterior motives, either: Neither Paul Wall nor Slim Thug have any formal business dealings with Marcus. They just truly appreciate his talent.

"It's a blessing. Just having them around, guiding me, what to expect and what not to do, how not to mess up in this game. It's surreal," Marcus said. "You can't ask for nothing more than legends that's in your city that really did something, that actually ventured off out of your city and made a name for themselves and actually are known worldwide and they're here helping you out. It's a great feeling."

Rappers Paul Wall (born Paul Michael Slayton) and Baby Bash (Ronald Ray Bryant) were arrested in El Paso, Texas, early Sunday morning on suspicion of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. The pair, who were in town to perform at the Summer Jamm 2011 show on Saturday, were released on Sunday afternoon after each posted a $300 bond, according to the El Paso Times.

Wall announced the arrest on his Twitter account, writing, "fresh out the El Paso County jail wit @Babybash @Biggroy, in the same tank they held Willie Nelson/Johnny Cash," accompanied by a photo of him in the back of a police car with Bash, who is in handcuffs.

The arrest occurred in what was described in press accounts as a "drug-free" zone, a detail that was explained in a subsequent Facebook post from Bash. While Wall, 30, seemed to have a good sense of humor about the incident, Bash, 41, was a bit more heated in his Twitter response. "Ain't 2much worse than a " HOE ASS PUNK EL PASO COP that abuses his authority, just cuz me and Paul Wall are artists! Only GEEKS and fools who don't have any spine abuses Authority! But I'm back in the FLESH feelin' so FRESH, out the tank mang!"

He quickly clarified, though, that he was not lashing out at cops over the arrest. "I'm not here to diss ALL police, they have a tuff gig and I respect that! BUT u have the ONE or TWO that will disrespect & abuse the power cuz maybe they got picked on in high school a lot and now have a chip on their shoulder, and that's exactly wut happened to us, all we did was SMELL like weed and wen he couldn't find it and we didn't snitch on who sparked it, he got overdramatic and took us in! He found out who we were and really got big shot on us! Haha even his partner said he's a di--."

Bash continued, claiming that bail was low because the judge "knew it was a bogus call." He said the pals admitted in court that they had smoked earlier, which is why they "smelled like tree," but that they didn't have any marijuana on them at the time of the arrest. "That made him [the officer] mad cuz he thought RAPPER must have large amount!"

A spokesperson for the El Paso Police Department was not available for comment at press time.

Paul Wall Apologizes For Attacking Fan

Paul Wall regrets lashing out at a fan over the weekend during a show in San Antonio, Texas. In case you missed it, a widely circulated video of the incident shows the grill-loving rapper going after a fan at the Low Low Car Show last Sunday after the man repeatedly flipped the middle finger at Wall.

After exchanging a few heated words with the offender, Wall (born Paul Slayton) got fed up with the one-finger salute and hit the man on the head twice with a microphone before security removed the man from the venue, according to TMZ. A contrite Wall issued an apology for the incident on Tuesday, telling XXL magazine that he simply lost his cool and regrets his unprofessional behavior.

"I want to sincerely apologize to my San Antonio Fans as well as Paul Wall Fans worldwide for allowing myself to become distracted during my recent performance at the Low Low Car Show in San Antonio, Texas," said Wall. "My goal as a live performer is to always provide my fans with a great show experience and I apologize for temporarily taking my eyes off that goal. We all learn from experiences both good and bad. I will learn and grow from this incident and be a better person, artist and performer as a result."

As of press time, no police report had been filed in the incident.

Tupac Remembered By Rick Ross, Paul Wall, Zaytoven

' 'Pac was our prophet,' Gorilla Zoe tells MTV News 14 years after iconic MC's death.

It's one of the moments you just don't forget. Most hip-hop fans can remember exactly where they were when they heard Tupac Skakur died, 14 years ago on September 13. While celebrating the 2010 VMAs in Los Angeles over the weekend, some of your favorite artists took time out to remember one of music's biggest icons.

"I'm from Carol City, and in Carol City we got a park [where] if somebody passes away, we go to the park," Rick Ross told MTV News. "So if something happen, we split up, go to the park. So I'll never forget: I was coming home and riding by the park. I saw all my homies, Chevys lined up. I was like, 'Damn, somebody died.' "

Ross said he had just been at the park a week prior mourning the loss of a childhood friend, Little Pete, who was killed in a vehicular accident. The day 'Pac died, Ross had déjà vu.

"I see everybody there again; I'm like, 'Damn, what done happened?' I pull up, people crying."

Thoughts raced through Ross' mind. " 'Who this finnin to be now?' " he recalled wondering.

"The way my homies was there, and everybody I knew was there, I just knew one of my closest homies was dead. That's when I realized the influence this man had on this generation," Ross said of the Death Row MC. "These people were crying like they were the week before when one of my best friends I knew since first grade died. The same amount of people were there for Tupac and had never met him a day before in their life. That's when I realized what Tupac meant to the people. I'm pretty sure I've never witnessed anything like this before in my life."

"When Biggie died, I was on the way to church," Paul Wall said of 'Pac's onetime adversary. "When 'Pac died, I had came out the gym, hoopin'. Me and Chamillionaire, we was in the ride together. We heard on the radio Tupac had passed away. We both were trippin'." (Interestingly, Wall's major-label debut, The People's Champ, was released on September 13 in 2005.)

Back in 1996, producer Zaytoven was living in San Francisco when he heard about Tupac's passing. 'Pac had spent some of his younger years in Oakland, California, and the Bay had extra love for Shakur.

"All we was listening to was 'Pac out there," Zay said. "I was going to basketball practice. My mom had heard [the news] on the radio and called me about it. That was a downer for me, really the whole [West] Coast.

"Everybody was trippin'. We used to walk around with portable radios on our shoulders playing him," Zay added. "That's how hard we was rocking with 'Pac. It was devastating to the whole Bay Area.

Rapper Gorilla Zoe said that he, like many fans, initially refused to believe that Tupac had been killed.

" 'Pac was Superman to us," Zoe explained. "Homes had been shot before [in 1994]; he always bounced back. When we found out he was shot [a week before his death] but wasn't dead, we was like, 'OK.' Then when we found out he was dead, nobody believed that. I didn't believe that. For years we were like, 'Homes on an island somewhere, chillin'.'

"He was our prophet," Zoe continued. "In the South, wasn't nothing else: It was 'Pac. 'Pac was heavy in the South. We wouldn't have had a movement like we got if that door wasn't open. Homes opened the door for the real, for the soldiers. 'Pac was our prophet."

Drake, Chamillionaire, The Game Say Album Leaks Can Be A Good Thing

Drake has been anointed by many fans and journalists alike as hip-hop's new golden master of ceremonies, but he is not exempt from the same problem plaguing most musicians these days. Bootleggers leaked his much-anticipated Thank Me Later LP earlier this week, but the Toronto MC took it stride, tweeting, "I gave away free music for years so we're good over here."

Drake told TheLifeFiles.com that the word of mouth won't hurt him. "It's a honor to make this dream come true for Wayne, and I'm excited to start my journey," he said of the new album, which he previewed for the press on Wednesday. "I always say, if I would have put out an album that was poor quality, I think the leaks would have hurt me. Because a lot of the feedback has been great, it can only help."

The Game spoke about the inevitability of leaking when he stopped by the MTV Newsroom on Wednesday. "Every album is getting leaked from now until the duration of hip-hop," he said. "It's just once it hits the plant, or once a radio station gets their promo, somebody is gonna leak the album. You can look forward to it being leaked a week early or whatever. It's gonna get leaked."

Chamillionaire and Paul Wall weighed in as well. And though they agreed that an MC's ire is definitely raised when his album leaks early, for the most part, it doesn't hurt too much.

"You can't not be bothered by that," Cham told MTV News. "Because you wonder, is that a sale that I could have made? You hate to see all your hard work that you went to the studio doing. We done seen bootleggers riding 28s. We like, 'Man, they eating good off of us.' But we understand; you just gotta give them that music. If it's dope, they gonna come buy it. I don't think Drake or anybody else should worry if it's dope. If people want it, it's gonna create enough hype. 50 Cent, even Lil Wayne, everybody suffered from leaks and some people benefited from it."

Wall agreed that leaks can do as much good as they do harm. "If the album don't sell good — that's just not Drake, this is every artist — then [they say], 'Oh, it got bootlegged.' If it does great, then they'll be like, 'Oh, it does great 'cause the bootleg got out, and it let everybody know this was legit.' It goes both ways."

Game suggested that any artists who complain that leaks hurt their sales should stop making excuses and make better music.

"Lil Wayne showed me that," Game said. "His album leaked four weeks before Tha Carter III was supposed to come out, and he sold a million the first week. That's just an excuse. ... It's no longer acceptable because people are still selling."

The 'Travis Barker Remix' Of Lil Wayne's 'Got Money' -- Check Out A Clip Here!

When production duo Play N SkillzPlay N Skillz started putting out feelers for people to appear on the remix of Lil Wayne's "Got Money" — a track they produced — Travis BarkerTravis Barker was one of the first people to respond and record his part for it. One day before the recent plane crash that killed four people and seriously injured Barker and DJ AMDJ AM, the drummer was in the studio, giving "Got Money" a beautiful beat-down with brand-new thunderous beats.

"We talked to Lil Chris [Baker], his assistant who died in the crash," Play told MTV News on Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the brothers were performing as part of the third annual New Mexico Takeover. "[Chris] was lining up the remix thing with Travis. I'd never met Travis, but we spoke two days before this happened. He went in the studio, did the 'Got Money' remix. We were really excited about that. Then you wake up one morning, and it's like, 'F---!' "

"It shows how fast something can happen," Skillz added. "The day before his crash, he had just did the drums to the 'Got Money' remix."

Play N Skillz said they took it upon themselves to try to spearhead a remix to the smash single. On Sunday, they had not yet spoken to WayneWayne personally about the new song but had talked to members of his camp.

The duo said Sunday that there could be multiple remixes for the song, suggesting that one remix could feature just Barker on the drums, another might have Travis and various other MCs (they mentioned Slim ThugSlim Thug, Bun BBun B and GameGame), or Weezy might decide to lay down some new vocals. At press time the MC details had not been finalized, but Barker's contribution was complete.

"We took it upon ourselves," Play said of the remix. "So many people are doing remixes anyways. We spoke to [Wayne's artist] Mack Maine, who's on the record. We told him what was going on. This whole process with Wayne has never been a very personal relationship. It's been so third-party, but it works. He probably doesn't want to be bothered with that type of thing. I guess he's like, 'Let me get in my space and do what I do.' If Wayne gets involved, even better. I didn't think he's not gonna wanna be a part of it. We're just trying to be innovative, and if anything, it can go to the Internet and to the fans."

Besides the Wayne remix, Barker was also working on several songs for Paul Wall'sPaul Wall's upcoming LP, The Fast Life, before the crash.

Barker and DJ AM remain hospitalized in Georgia following Friday night's crash. They are in serious but stable condition. The two entertainers were the only two survivors of six passengers. In addition to Baker, Barker's bodyguard, Charles "Che" Still, and the plane's pilots died in the crash. Barker and AM suffered serious burns but are expected to make full recoveries.

Paul WallPaul Wall has had little reason to show off his famously iced-out grills in the last two weeks. He hasn't been smiling much.

First, on September 13, Hurricane Ike tore through Houston, Wall's hometown. Then his three good friends Travis BarkerTravis Barker, DJ AMDJ AM and "Lil" Chris Baker were in a plane crash on Friday night. Baker and three others were killed, while Barker and AM remain hospitalized in a Georgia burn center. And back in July, he told SOHH.com that his good friend Emanuel Hobbs was killed in a shootout in Houston.

"Just sitting at home has been depressing," Wall said, adding that he has spent the past few days "thinking about my friends going through the plane crash, thinking about not having any power [in the city], sulking in my misery."

Wall tried to fly to his friends' side upon hearing of the crash Saturday morning, but he couldn't get a flight out of Houston. The airports are still backed up after the hurricane. So after performing at the New Mexico Takeover concert on Sunday, Wall said he would travel to Los Angeles to meet with his friends' families, then visit AM and Barker in Georgia.

Luckily, Houston is getting back on its feet, and Wall said he feels comfortable leaving his wife and two kids at home.

"Everybody is just trying to get back to normal," he said. "Most of the businesses and stuff lost power, and their windows broke. They had trouble with their roofs. It's just taking a minute for people to get back to normal. Day by day, more people are getting power."

Before the fury of Hurricane Ike, Wall had been touring with AM and Barker.

"Travis and AM do these shows," Paul explained. "They do, like, an hour-and-a-half set. They remix songs live. All the hottest music from today, the hottest music from the past we grew up listening too. AM will blend different vocals and beats. Travis will just do different drum patterns. It was so off the hook. You've never seen nothing like it ever, till you've seen one of their shows. I do a lot of special appearances where I come out and do a couple of songs for a minute. It's a whole lot of fun."

Barker produced several tracks for Wall's next LP, The Fast Life, which is slated to come out around the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Wall said three or four of those should make the cut.

"Travis Barker is a fool on the drums, but he got a lot of tricks up his sleeve with the hip-hop scene, on the hip-hop production side," Wall told MTV News at the VMAs. "He produced a few songs on my last album and a few on my upcoming one too. One of them is called 'I've Got to Get Mo'; that one's the best. Another one is called 'Ride It to the End.' Another one is called 'Pop One of These.' We have a lot of fun in the studio every time we get together. 'I've Got to Get Mo' is with an artist named Koby singing the chorus on there. Travis did the production, and he kind of came to me with the idea for the song: 'We got to get it, we got to get out there and hustle, and get our grind on.' That's what the song is about, because work-related wise, you just put in your hours, and you reap the benefits."

ChamillionaireChamillionaire, Keak Da Sneak and Lil' KekeLil' Keke also appear on the project. AkonAkon sings on the first single, "Girl Is on Fire."

"You know how Akon is. When he gets on there, and he just shut it off, he turned everything upside down," the People's Champ said. "Just like he did on every other song, he produced it as well. We swap out here and there."

'He's getting a little more gangsta,' Paul Wall says of boy wizard, who celebrates his 10th 'birthday' this week.

Harry Potter has his 10-year "birthday" this week, but it's not just the fantasy crowd that's celebrating (either with wizard-rock shows or readathons).

We checked in with a variety of musicians and actors (some from the films, some not) to see what they thought about the boy wizard and how he's impacted their lives. We thought we might get laughed at — after all, a lot of these folks were walking the red carpet at the VMAs and probably had something far more glamorous to attend to. But mention Harry Potter, and some people just light up.

Here are a few of them:

Keira KnightleyKeira Knightley: "I've read all the books. I haven't seen the films, except the first one. What's the alley where they get the wands from? [Diagon Alley.] That's an amazing image. Harry, he's pretty cool. He's got a good scar."

Jeremy Davis (ParamoreParamore): "Hell, yeah, I love 'Harry Potter'! I feel like 'Harry Potter,' the books and the movies, went above and beyond any other series. It would be a tough series to compete with. I would hate to try to compete against it."

Kellan LutzKellan Lutz ("Twilight""Twilight"): "I love 'Harry Potter.' I actually wanted 'Harry Potter' as competition for 'Twilight,' because you'd be seeing the wizard side of fantasy and then jumping into the vampire life. Everyone I talk to is so obsessed with it. I always wished I had powers. I always wished I had a stick and a broom! It's a great story. It's so well-written. I think 'Harry Potter' hit everything. It set the precedent, that peak of Mount Everest, and we all want to climb that mountain. I just wish there were as many books to make movies of in 'Twilight' as there are in 'Harry Potter.' "

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson (Cedric in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,""Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," Edward in "Twilight"): "Does it make me a traitor? 'Harry Potter' was what made me become an actor. I credit 'Harry Potter' with everything else that's come since for me. I didn't know what I was doing before that. I hadn't read the books before doing the movie, so at first I read it just as an acting exercise. But I really enjoyed it! But I think Edward would kick Cedric's ass, to be honest."

Lupe FiascoLupe Fiasco: "I'm a spectator of the entire phenomenon, you know what I'm saying? The entire phenomenon inspires me. I love Harry Potter [he points to his own specs] because of the glasses."

Kaycee Stroh ("High School Musical""High School Musical"): "The character I relate to the most is Hermione, because she's a bit of a spitfire and she always saves the day. I step into her shoes when necessary. I love her and relate to her. I think the series has a wonderful message about how every kid has that struggle of not fitting in, and it's very inspiring to realize through the hero of the story that that's not all that matters. The reason I love it is because it teaches us to use our imagination and our hearts. We're never too old to have fun."

Paul WallPaul Wall: "The first two movies were a little too childish, but as Harry grew up, as he's growing up, he's getting a little more gangsta. It's getting a little more intense and action-packed, so I like it even more now. I don't have a favorite character, and if I did have a favorite, my wife and my sister [who are even bigger fans] would roast me for that."

Jonathan Davis (KornKorn): "I just like the whole 'Harry Potter' vibe — about a kid becoming a magician, going to wizarding school. I think the movies and the books, everything I've seen, is really cool. I definitely like Harry, because he's the underdog. He's always getting picked on. He's always down and out, but he just comes back, and I think that's cool. And it's pissed off a bunch of Christian people, and that made it even better for me."

Ralph FiennesRalph Fiennes (VoldemortVoldemort in the "Harry Potter" films): "I think the great thing about 'Harry Potter' is that J.K. Rowling has created a myth for our time. I know it sounds cliché, but to keep reinventing the dynamic between good and evil in an accessible and dramatic way is fantastic. I think the high-octane drama of those movies is great for keeping filmmaking alive. There's an energy and an inventiveness and an originality to what she's done."

Shirley MansonShirley Manson: "I have two connections with 'Harry Potter.' One is that J.K. Rowling came from my city, Edinburgh. But more importantly, my dog, my rescue dog, is named after a character, a kind of being, in 'Harry Potter': Veela."

Marcia Gay HardenMarcia Gay Harden: "[My 10-year-old daughter] Eulala has read all seven books, and this past year, she asked me to read them with her, because her whole world is 'Harry Potter.' For her birthday, she wants a wand, a crystal ball, a potion-making kit, that's all she wants — not any 'Hannah Montana.' So I read it, and it's brilliant. Each chapter, J.K. Rowling leaves a breadcrumb, and you have to read on. You can't stop! It's affected our lives on so many levels, from reading together to playtime — a lot of playtime is about 'Harry Potter' — to other books and wondering if the writing will be as good or the imagery as great. Rowling says, 'Jump on and go on this ride,' and it's fantastic. I would have loved to be Professor McGonagall. Eulala is Hermione. It's another way of looking at the world, which I really love."

Autumn ReeserAutumn Reeser ("American Mall""American Mall"): "I had a 'Harry Potter' lunchbox — I kept art supplies in it. The kids who I went to elementary school with would say I'm a Hermione. I was a little bit of a know-it-all. I just liked school, which isn't always cool. I discovered that in junior high. But I think 'Harry Potter' reminds me of my childhood, of that fantastical time childhood is. I would have liked to go to Hogwarts. I would have had wizard parties. There is actually a whole book on how to throw wizard parties, and I considered doing that, you know, making food that looks like funny things like frogs. Your guests come as wizards. I would probably have to invite 10-year-olds and not my actual friends."

Verne TroyerVerne Troyer: "I was actually in the first 'Harry Potter' film, and it was fun, but the only thing was, I had to go through over five hours of makeup. A new 'Harry Potter' film is going to be coming out soon, and they have my character [Griphook] coming back, but they somehow didn't call me and have me be a part of it. What's up with that?"

Travis Barker, DJ AM Visited In Hospital By Jermaine Dupri, Mandy Moore

As friends and family rush to Augusta, Georgia's Joseph M. Still Burn Center to be with Travis Barker and DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) — who are recovering from serious burns they suffered in a plane crash on Friday night — thoughts and prayers continue to pour in from other friends and peers, such as Paul WallPaul Wall, the Gamethe Game and Yung BergYung Berg.

Producer Jermaine DupriJermaine Dupri visited Barker in the hospital on Sunday, according to UsMagazine.com, and said that though the situation was very serious, the former Blink-182Blink-182 drummer was doing well.

"It's a seriously sad situation," Dupri said. "He's doing good ... but I really hate to see my friends go through this."

Barker's ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, flew in on Saturday, and AM's former girlfriend Mandy MooreMandy Moore was also spotted at the burn center on Sunday. An unnamed source told TMZ.com early Monday that AM is "ambulatory and in good spirits."

While Barker is best known as part of the punk-pop band Blink-182, his formidable drumming and production skills have earned him deep respect from the hip-hop community, thanks to his energetic beats on remixes of songs by Soulja Boy Tell'emSoulja Boy Tell'em and Flo RidaFlo Rida.

Speaking on Cincinnati urban radio station 101.1 the WIZ on Saturday night, Yung Berg paused to send out condolences to those killed in the crash and best wishes and prayers to Barker and AM. Fall Out Boy, Beanie Sigel, Lindsay Lohan and other celebrities have also sent out messages over the weekend.

The Game also weighed in, telling AllHipHop.com that he was "deeply hurt" by the news of the deadly crash. "Travis Barker has always been there for me when I needed him creatively. We've done many songs together," the Game said. "Just recently he appeared in my video ['Dope Boyz'] that he featured on. I respect and love him. My prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time for his speedy and complete recovery."

Barker is also close with rapper Paul Wall, with whom he formed an all-star group called Expensive Taste. "It's so shocking and unexpected. Travis and AM are such generous people. They would literally give you the shirt off their back," Wall told AllHipHop. The rapper also commented on Chris Baker, one of four people killed in the crash, saying, "And Lil Chris was such a great friend. He was down for life. I feel so bad for his wife and son that are going through such a hard time right now. Family is something very important to Travis and Chris. We all gotta pull together right now."

As of Sunday, AM and Barker were still in critical but stable condition after the crash, which officials say may have been caused by a blown tire. Doctors said that they suffered second- and third-degree burns but are expected to recover fully. Barker sustained burns on his torso and lower body, and AM was burned on his arm and head. An official at the hospital said that neither sustained any other physical injuries, but they could be hospitalized for weeks.

"Anybody who can survive a plane crash is pretty lucky," Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Still Burn Center told reporters during a news conference Sunday morning. Killed in the crash were pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31; co-pilot James Bland, 52; Barker's assistant and close friend Chris "Little Chris" Baker, 29; and security guard Charles Still, 25.

In addition to friends and family, The Associated Press reported that several fans visited the hospital over the weekend. "I was just shocked when I first heard it, and I knew that I had to do something," said Ryan Meadows, a 19-year-old college student from Augusta.

A statement from the families of both artists thanked fans and friends for their support. "The families wish to thank fans from all over the world for their prayers and concern," the statement read. "Deepest sympathy is expressed to the loved ones of those who perished in the crash."

Beyoncé's planned concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has been canned amid protests by local Muslim groups, Billboard reports. The groups are reportedly upset that the singer has refused to obey the country's strict dress code for performers, although the November 1 concert's promoter, Pineapple Concert, did not give a reason for the cancellation in a statement issued Friday (September 28). Female performers are not allowed to show skin from the tops of their chests to their knees. In August, Gwen Stefani's concert in the country was also preceded by protests for the same reason — but she reluctantly abided by the guidelines, saying in a press conference before the show that she had made a "major sacrifice." ...

According to former Offenders drummer Pat Doyle, his former bandmate, bassist Mikey Donaldson, died in his sleep on Saturday in Barcelona, Spain. He was 46. An official cause of death has yet to be determined. "Mikey is universally regarded as one of the most innovative and inimitable masters of the bass guitar," Doyle said. "He played his Rickenbacker like it was an outsized rhythm guitar. Mikey pioneered an aggressive speed-picking style and liberal employment of bass chords that few have been able to emulate in the past 20 years. He will be sorely missed."
