This Election Day, some artists are hoping you make your voice heard at voting booths and then at the record stores.

Releasing their politically charged third album on Tuesday (November 2) was a conscious decision for A Perfect Circle. Their eMOTIVe is a 12-song disc, of which 10 tracks are covers of songs like John Lennon's "Imagine," Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," "People Are People" by Depeche Mode, and "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding" by Nick Lowe (performed most famously by Elvis Costello). The two original tracks, "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" and "Passive," rally against apathy.

Somewhat less political is the new album by the Ying Yang Twins, My Brother & Me. The follow-up to 2003's Me and My Brother is a CD/DVD combo featuring 10 new songs, performance and behind-the-scenes footage, three videos, and collaborations on the album with Lil Jon, Juvenile, Fat Joe and others.

The 17th installment of the massively successful Now That's What I Call Music! series hits stores Tuesday with tracks by Ciara ("Goodies"), the Beastie Boys ("Ch-Check It Out"), Franz Ferdinand ("Take Me Out"), Nelly ("My Place") and Black Eyed Peas ("Let's Get It Started"), among a slew of others.

Also out this week are albums by the Rolling Stones (Live Licks); AFI (AFI); Catch 22 (Live); and Train (Alive at Last).

If you're sorely disappointed at the lack of Pennywise videos on "Total Request Live," the folks at Epitaph Records are working on a solution.
Building on their line of "Punk-O-Rama" compilations, the label will soon bring a television program to select markets in California under the banner "Punk-O-Rama TV." The show promises videos and interviews with Epitaph artists, and is slated to debut on June 19 in Hollywood. Fans can find a complete schedule of airtimes and markets at the Punk-O-Rama website (at www.punkorama.com).
Not coincidentally, the show's launch comes just as Epitaph is preparing to launch "Punk-O-Rama 4: Straight Outta The Pit," the fourth installment in the series. This time out, the album features 25 tracks from Pennywise, H20, Rancid, ALL, Bad Religion, Voodoo Glow Skulls, NOFX, Tom Waits, and others. The collection arrives on June 22.
Past "Punk-O-Rama" collections have included cuts from
Offspring, Total Chaos, Down By Law, Wayne Kramer, Descendents, New Bomb Turks, The Cramps, Bouncing Souls, and a veritable who's who of punk heavyweights.

October 1 [14:00 EDT] -- Once the Voodoo Glow Skulls were a hard core punk band. It was three years before they tired of straight punk and introduced a ska element, but their roots come through loud and clear in the style and pace of their third album Baile De Los Locos ["Bulletproof", 800k QuickTime].

The three Casillas brothers (vocalist Frank, guitarist Eddy, and bassist Jorge) founded the band with drummer Jerry O'Neill in 1988 in their hometown of Riverside, California. The brass section is comprised of saxophonist Joey Hernadez, trumpeter Joe McNally, and trombonist Brodie Johnson.

Baile De Los Locos translates loosely as "Dance of the Crazy People." An apt description seeing as the speed of the Skulls' music never ceases, even on the bonus track of the Christmas classic "Feliz Navidad."

In addition three songs are recorded in Spanish by the bilingual band, who released an English and a Spanish version of their
previous LP Firme. Over the years, the Skulls have played with such ska acts as the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, 311, No Doubt, Sublime, and the Reverend Horton Heat.
