Los Angeles-based Key Kool and DJ Rhettmatic released Kozmonautz in 1995, an underground gem that was to be the start of a crew called the Visionaries. Consisting of Key Kool and DJ Rhettmatic plus LMNO, 2Mex, Lord Zen, and Dannu, the five MCs and exceptionally talented DJ have had underground hip-hop fans drooling. Their first album, Galleries, was released in 1998, while 2000 saw their follow-up album, Sophomore Jinx, hit the shelves. Emerging from the Los Angeles underground, the Visionaries have gained a cult-type following with an explosive live show. Touring extensively, they earned an expanding fanbase by touring with such acts as Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, and Beat Junkies. On their newest album, Pangaea, released on Up Above Records, the Visionaries once again bring their unique brand of message music to the forefront. The group continues to champion for love and life through hip-hop.
