December 2 [12:00 EDT] -- Midge Ure, formerly of the '80's pop group Ultravox, has released his fourth solo album, "Breathe."

Born James Ure in Glasgow, Scotland, Ure is best known for his singles, "Dear God," "If I Was," "Cold, Cold Heart," and the Band Aid holiday hit, "Do They Know It's Christmas," which Ure co-wrote. "Breathe" sports several guest performers, namely Paddy Maloney of The Chieftains, Robert Fripp, Mary Black's band members, Hothouse Flower Liam O'Maonai, Larry Klein, and Shankar.

Ure's previous albums are The Gift in '85, Answers To Nothing in '88, Pure in '91, and a Best Of Midge Ure/Ultravox in '91. Ure is the former director of the Prince's Trust Concerts, and he also has directed music videos for the likes of Bananarama, Funboy Three, and Ultravox.

The single "Breathe" is expected to be in high demand after a Swatch TV ad airs in which the song appears. In Italy, thanks to the spots, "Breathe" has become the number one most requested song on the radio. Ure's label, RCA Victor, is preparing for the anticipated demand for the single in the U.S. by installing copies in Swatch stores. Ure, who has been known to say that he enjoys his relative anonymity, may not have it for much longer, though for now, he can breathe.
