Full Biography
Singer/songwriter Beth Thornley combines classic sounds of '70s pop/rock with the earnestness of Aimee Mann and Beth Orton for her own playful kind of sweetness. The Alabama-born Thornley, who earned a classical music degree, landed in Los Angeles in the late '90s with her sights set on making her rock & roll dreams come true. In between various music jobs, Thornley recorded her first album, a self-titled effort that was issued on her own Stiff Hips imprint in 2002. "I Will Lie" was chosen as a rock category finalist in the 2003 USA Songwriting Competition. Four years later, Thornley returned with the confident, genre-blending My Glass Eye. Thornley's songs have been featured in episodes of Beautiful People, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, and Scrubs while also appearing on the Perfect Man and Between soundtracks. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
