November 13 [14:00 EDT] -- The Orange County Supertones, (as in California, where they hail from) are ska-ing the word of the Lord.

This seven man band has all of the usual ska affects: suits, ties, sunglasses -- but unlike most ska acts, they are decidedly committed to spreading the gospel through their hoots and horns.

The Supertones released their second album, "Supertones Strike Back," in June of 1997 (exactly a year after their eponymous LP debuted) and are selling out venues on their current tour.

The band members are vocalist Matt Morginsky, bassist Tony Terusa, new guitarist Bronson (Kevin Chen withdrew recently to pursue other interests), trombonist Dan Spencer, trumpeter Darren Mettler, tenor saxophonist David Chevalier, and drummer Jason Carson. Steve Kravac (Offspring/VooDoo Glow Skulls) produced "Strike Back" at the West Beach Studios in Los Angeles.

The Supertones have shared the stage with the Descendents, Buck O' Nine, and Save Ferris,
and call The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Operation Ivy musical influences.
