SunN.Y. is a seven-time winner of 106 & Park's "Freestyle Fridays" competitions and the undefeated champion of Hot 107.9's event of the same name. Born Daniel Smith and raised in Rochester, New York, SunN.Y. has been freestyling since the age of 7. Now 22-years-old SunN.Y. has graduated from recreational rapper to battle winner to signed recording artist under Jermaine Dupri's Virgin Urban Music label. SunN.Y. cites hip hop artists as diverse as Beastie Boys, Nas, Jay-Z and Eazy E as influences. His debut, Overnight Celebrity , was released in 2005.
