The Strike

With their reminiscing sounds of 1977 Brit-punk that incorporates reggae and mod influences, frontman Chad Anderson got together with his brother Chris (drums) to form the Strike in 1993. Originally based out of Minneapolis, MN, the recruitment of bassist Kris Adams and guitarist Micah Garlich-Miller solidified the lineup as the quartet used their band as a soap box for their left wing politics. Following their 1995 debut EP, Victoria, the Strike signed with Johanns Face Records who eventually released the single "Danger"/"Take Action" and their first album, A Conscience Left to Struggle With Pockets Full of Rust. After relocating to Chicago as a three-piece -- with Micah remaining in Minneapolis -- Victory Records put out the Strikes' second album, Shots Heard 'Round the World, in 1999 before their breakup the following year. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
