Legendary English pop vocalist Dusty Springfield died Tuesday night at her home in Oxfordshire, England after a five year battle with breast cancer.</P> Springfield was 59.</P> The singer started her career with the folk group the Springfields and went on to score her first solo hit in 1963 with "I Only Want To Be With You." She followed with a string of hit singles, including 1969's "Son of a Preacher Man," which later resurfaced on the soundtrack to "Pulp Fiction." Springfield became one of Britain's biggest selling artists of the 60s, but spent much of the 70s living quietly in America. In 1987, the Pet Shop Boys recruited Springfield for the hit single "What Have I Done To Deserve This."</P> The singer was slated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in two weeks. </P>
