Sleepless

The Israeli duo Sleepless consists of vocalists/multi-instrumentalists David Bendayan and Maor Appelbaum. Their category skirting gothic/ethereal style incorporates elements of progressive rock (especially Pink Floyd) and symphonic death/black metal bands such as Tiamat, as well as touches of atmospheric jazz à la Jan Garbarek or other artists on the ECM label. Their well-received debut album, Winds Blow Higher, distributed in the U.S. by Southern California's the End Records, was released in September of 2001. ~ William York, Rovi
