On Monday (August 17), it was rumored that Jessica Simpson would be the next celebrity to join Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi at the judges' table on "American Idol." But it turns out the only reality show Simpson will be on is her upcoming VH1 show "The Price of Beauty."

Simpson's rep shot down the New York Post report that she'd be one of the guest judges for the upcoming season of the show. "There is absolutely no truth to this," her rep told Us Weekly.

The report also said that it is her dad and manager, Joe Simpson, who was pushing to get Simpson a slot on the program, a claim he denied on his Twitter page. "So, I am in Thailand ... But, of course, the Post says I am in town trying to get [Jess] to be the replacement for Paula Abdul ... Do the lies ever stop????"

Meanwhile, People magazine is reporting that country star Shania Twain is in talks to be a guest judge. She could be one of the judges when the show makes a stop in Chicago on August 30 and 31, the mag reports.

If Twain does sign on, she'd be joining Mary J. Blige, who will guest-judge when the show stops in Atlanta. Katy Perry and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham have also been confirmed as guest judges for this season, hoping to fill the void left by Paula Abdul's surprising exit.

The permanent solution for filling Abdul's empty chair has yet to be announced. Earlier this month, Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment at Fox, told Reuters that they'll be coming up with a replacement "between now and January. ... Obviously, there is going to be a different dynamic, [and] there is something exciting about that."

Jessica Simpson knows a thing or two about falling in and out of love in the public eye. Perhaps that's why when she spoke to Glamour magazine about her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo she was willing to speculate that if the pair had broken up by the time the issue came out, "he'd still be a huge part of who I am today." Simpson and Romo broke up last month.

"If this article comes out and we're not together, I'd still love him, and he'd still be a huge part of who I am today," Simpson says in the September issue of Glamour, adding that breakups feel like "a death in the family."

Simpson, who divorced Nick Lachey in 2006, added that she wasn't sure she'd marry again after the divorce. She said, "It was hard to imagine I would ever walk down the aisle again."

She then described what it feels like for her to end a relationship. "You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself," said Simpson, who has also dated John Mayer. "Once you do that, you feel complete — and that's the only time you can truly fall in love again and give yourself over completely to another person."

Despite all the public scrutiny around her life, the 29-year-old admits that "I don't regret anything I've gone through." She added, "I don't know what the future holds, but I hope that my life as it is now doesn't change. I'm very happy and comfortable — it's a great place to be in."

According to several online reports, Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have split up. Sources said the split happened on Thursday, a day before Simpson's 29th birthday.

"She is heartbroken," a source told People.com. "She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show ['The Price of Beauty,' for VH1]. They decided to part ways."

When asked for confirmation by MTV News, a rep for Simpson would neither confirm nor deny the reports, saying, "We don't comment on our clients' personal lives."

People.com also reported that on Simpson's birthday, Romo was seen partying at Los Angeles nightclub My House. "He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table," another source told the site. "Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys."

UsMagazine.com also reported that the couple have split, citing a source as saying, "It's been a long time coming." An additional source told the site that the couple could reunite at any time. "They go from one fight right into another, without a second's break. It's always something with Jessica."

The first source added that Simpson canceled her birthday party because of the split, but is doing "OK."

In the wake of the split, Simpson has been hitting up her Twitter account, relaying news that she canceled her birthday party but revealing little else that would seem to suggest a split. "Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I love getting older."

She later tweeted, "The beat of a heart can make you realize the special rhythm of a person ... just listen. I like the irregular beat; it send me to another place ... Everyone needs to know that hope floats ... grab the strings and pull it back to you."

The singer, 29, and Romo began dating in November 2007.

Recently, Simpson's ex-husband, Nick Lachey and his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, also broke up.

Late last month, it was reported that Jessica Simpson was shopping a reality show about body image. On Monday (June 22), it was announced that Simpson's show, "The Price of Beauty," had been picked up by VH1.

The new show — which begins shooting in mid-July and will be executive-produced by Simpson and her dad, Joe — follows Simpson as she "travels the world to study the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participate in some of the extreme practices she discovers," reports Just Jared.

"When [Chris Coelen, CEO of production company RDF Media] approached me with his idea for a show about true beauty, I was immediately intrigued," Simpson said in a statement. "I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect."

Simpson, who garnered much criticism about her weight while touring earlier this year, added, "I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey, and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I'm sure will be a wild ride."

The singer opened up earlier this year about the public scrutiny she got over her alleged weight gain and her reported onstage breakdowns and flubs, saying that it's something she has had to "train myself to ignore."

"I know that every day the media's going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down," she said. "But I feel like I'm at such a place that I own myself, and it's authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them."

Jessica Simpson, who was battered by media coverage about her weight earlier this year, is apparently aiming to make lemonade from lemons: The singer/actress is reportedly shopping around a new reality program that focuses on society's scrutiny of women's bodies.

According to Us Weekly, Simpson recently paid a visit to several unnamed networks to pitch a reality show titled "The Price of Beauty." The premise, according to an anonymous source, is that Simpson and a friend "set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why."

The source said that Simpson, 28, whose marriage to ex-husband Nick Lachey was famously chronicled on MTV's own "Newlyweds" reality show, will be very hands-on with this series, including trying some "shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture 'Fear Factor.' "

A spokesperson for Simpson could not be reached for comment at press time.

An unnamed rep for the singer told the magazine, "Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time."

Simpson, who attempted to relaunch her music career last year with a country album, was recently on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, in which she discussed the difficulty of the fallout from those unflattering concert photos and the criticism of her up-and-down weight throughout her career. "It comes with what I do," she told the magazine. "And I know that every day the media's going to challenge me."

After receiving much criticism for her weight earlier this year, Jessica Simpson returned to the stage this past weekend wowing the crowd with her newly toned figure, UsMagazine.com reported.

During a gig Saturday at SeaWorld in San Antonio for the park's "Bud & BBQ" country-music series, Simpson graced the stage in a navy-blue dress but quickly changed into her now-signature Daisy Dukes. Only moments before hitting the stage, she Tweeted, "Get ready for greatness, Shamu." After leaving the stage — where Simpson appeared to be all smiles — she Tweeted, "Just overcame my fear of sharks by kissing a killer whale!"

In addition to Tweeting about the show, she has also most recently Tweeted about how hard she's been working out with her trainer. She said, "Every time we have to do squats, and he yells at me, 'Get lower like you're in the club!' I don't squat in the club unless I am peeing!"

Simpson also recently opened up to Vanity Fair about the media criticism she's faced in the last few months about her alleged weight gain and her reported onstage breakdowns and flubs. "When it comes to media criticism, that's just something I have had to train myself — literally train myself — to ignore," she said. "Because I'm the one up there onstage, and I can feel the energy of the crowd. And I know when I did good. And I know when I did great. And there wasn't one time on this tour when I felt like I butchered it. I mean, the way people make it sound, I should have never been singing in the first place."

Simpson, who recently made the leap from pop music to country music, added, "I know that every day the media's going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I'm at such a place that I own myself, and it's authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them."

By our count, Eminem slammed something like 20 celebrities in his just-released "We Made You" video — everyone from Jessica Alba to Amy Winehouse — a number that might be a record, even for him.

Since it's been a little more than 24 hours since the video premiered on MTV, we figured it was about time for some of those celebrities to return fire. And they have. Sort of.

First to respond — perhaps because she's hit harder than anyone in the clip — was Jessica Simpson ... or, more specifically, "a friend of hers," who told MSNBC.com's "The Scoop" that Simpson was bothered by Em's barbs but that she had already brushed them off.

"Of course Jess finds it annoying," the source is quoted as saying, "but it's not like she's the only one who was singled out."

Kim Kardashian — who attacks Em with her ample posterior (and is subsequently shoved into a wood-chipper) in the clip — didn't need a friend to do her talking. She let her blog do it for her, posting that she thought the video was "so funny" and considered the spoofing to be an honor.

"I just saw Eminem's new video ... and he totally spoofs me. It was a total surprise to me, because I had no idea he was going to talk about me in the song, [but] I think this video is so funny," she wrote in the post. "I am a huge Eminem fan and find it flattering that he would rap about me. He's a bit harsh about some other celebrities, but you just have to let it go and have a sense of humor. Personally, I'm honored."

That's about all the responses we've been able to track down so far, but we're still holding out hope for a scathing reply or two. Come on Bret Michaels, John Mayer and/or Lindsay Lohan: We know you've got it in you.

While on the road as an opener for Rascal Flatts' Bob That Head Tour over the past couple of months, Jessica Simpson has run into her share of snafus, from forgetting lyrics to comments about her weight. Her last stop on the tour in Irvine, California, was no exception.

According to US Weekly, at Saturday night's show, Simpson messed up the lyrics to "Remember That," a song she introduced at a show two days prior with a few revealing words about abusive relationships. "Oops! I said 'whiskey' too early! I messed up!" she said before starting over. "I'm so embarrassed! But I'm starting over again because I really want you guys to hear the lyrics the right way."

Not only did Simpson mess up the lines to "Remember That," but the singer, who has had to start songs over during previous stops on the tour, also flubbed "Still Don't Stop Me." "I messed up again! I do this all the time!" she said.

Despite the mistakes, Simpson's set wasn't without highlights. She seemed to win the crowd over with her cover of Robbie Williams' "Angels." "I know that we all feel that we have angels around us, watching over us all the time. It's so important to remember that," she told the audience, who erupted into applause at the end of the song, prompting Simpson to joke, "I just felt like I was on 'American Idol'!"

She also dedicated the song "You're My Sunday" to the "person I'm in love with right now," her football-player boyfriend, Tony Romo. She dedicated her last tune, "Come on Over," to country icon Dolly Parton. "It's so amazing to be up here," she said while introducing the song. "I still can't believe I'm here!"

Jessica Simpson up about abusive relationships during her concert Thursday night (March 12) in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion, US Weekly reports.

Before launching into "Remember That" — a song that contains the lyrics, "It doesn't matter how he hurts you/ With his hands or with his words/ You don't deserve it" — she told her fans to "run so far away" from any abusive situations.

The singer — who has previously talked about being in an abusive relationship — added, "In love, we all go through a lot of things, and a lot of things unfortunately make us stay there [in the relationship]. No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away."

During the show, she also confessed to more relationship woes before singing "Still Don't Stop Me." "After I wrote that song, I was mad at myself for being so weak and I got over that guy!" she said, after explaining it was written for "a guy that I couldn't get over."

In 2008, Simpson spoke to Elle magazine about her abusive relationship, but didn't specify if she had been physically or emotionally abused. "I don't want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."

Two out of three ain't bad. After enduring endless rumors that she broke up with her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and weathering a brutal few weeks thanks to an unflattering series of photos taken at one of her recent shows, embattled country/pop singer Jessica Simpson got it mostly right during a gig in Salt Lake City on Thursday night.

According to UsMagazine.com, Simpson, 28, showed off her signature curves while wearing Daisy Dukes and high heels at the show, and a source at the show said she looked "fit, tanned and toned."

Simpson also reportedly told the crowd that she felt "so lucky to be here," revealing to fans that prayer had helped her maintain her confidence after facing worldwide ridicule for her apparent weight gain.

The fit-club makeover came less than a month after images of Simpson in unfortunate high-waisted jeans and a double belt unleashed a torrent of hurtful comments, leading fans and sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz to come to her defense.

Simpson also took the time Thursday night to give a shout-out to Romo, whom she had nothing but kind words for. "The thing that makes us lucky is being in love. ... I did find that unexpected kind of love," Simpson reportedly said, adding that her crush on Romo began after she watched him on ESPN.

The singer had less than generous thoughts about a "complete butthead" ex, whom she didn't name but alluded to before her song "Remember That."

During a show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, earlier this month, Simpson had what was described as a near meltdown onstage, forgetting the lyrics to her single "Come on Over," asking the band to start another song over, fiddling with her ear monitors and fighting off tears at one point and mouthing "sorry" to the crowd.

And while Us reported that Simpson appeared to be back in fighting shape and lucky in love, she did, alas, forget the words to "Come on Over" again during the 45-minute set at EnergySolutions Arena on Thursday night.

"I always do that right there," she reportedly said, laughing. "Sorry!"
