Despite rumors that Samantha Ronson and her family were seeking a restraining order against Lindsay Lohan following the couple's recent breakup, a lawyer for the family says that is not true.

"Samantha has no plan to request a restraining order," attorney David Bass told People after a Beverly Hills police officer confirmed that the Ronson family had inquired about how to obtain one. "There is no basis for one."

A source close to Ronson told the magazine that there is no reason why she'd be looking to keep Lohan away after their breakup. "Sam does not want a restraining order against Lindsay Lohan," the source said. "Sam had nothing to do with the restraining order against Lindsay that the police are talking about."

The source continued that despite no longer being together, Ronson doesn't think that Lohan is a threat. "Sam and Lindsay are broken up, but Sam does not feel she's in any danger whatsoever," the source said. "She thinks the whole thing is absurd."

On Tuesday, it was reported that Ronson's mother and sister had talked to police in Beverly Hills to find out how they could get a restraining order against Lohan.

"They were directed to the court to get a restraining order," Beverly Hills Sgt. Nutall told UsMagazine.com. At the time he wouldn't confirm that the inquiry was about Lohan, and now sources are denying that the order was for the actress.

Another source tells People that even after the breakup, the two "are totally communicating."

Just a day after Lindsay Lohan confirmed that she and DJ Samantha Ronson had broken up, the actress says she's feeling "so alone" without Sam by her side.

"It's absolute hell," Lohan says in the new issue of Us Weekly, describing the events of this past weekend as "humiliating." She continues that on Friday night, when she wasn't allowed into a party for Sam's sister Charlotte Ronson at the Chateau Marmont, was "the worst night of my life."

According to Us, Sam broke it off with Lohan on Friday and then hired five security guards to keep her out of the Chateau. Lohan told the magazine that she was also shunned by other partygoers as they made their way in.

"Everyone's turned on me," she said, adding that Nicole Richie walked by her and said, "Uck," while Drea De Matteo said, "Come at me, bitch."

"I felt like I was in 'Mean Girls,' but worse," Lohan told Us. " 'Mean Girls' was a movie."

Among the many stories about what happened between Lohan and Ronson in the past few days, Us reported that on Saturday Ronson changed the locks on the home shared by the couple. "I'm not a bad person and this is what happens," Lohan said. "I was raised to treat people well, and I'm so tired of this drama."

Sources told the magazine that Ronson has been trying to break up with Lohan for the past month, but Lohan "threatens to kill herself -- she cares about her but wants out."

When told about it, Lohan responded, "I'm just really hurt. The whole situation is sick."

After denying there was trouble in her relationship with Samantha Ronson last week, Lindsay Lohan confirmed on Monday that she and the DJ have broken up.

"We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself," Lohan told E! News, which reported that the breakup occurred on Monday after some drama over the weekend between Lohan and Sam, as well as a few other Ronson family members.

On Friday, according to OK! magazine, Lohan was denied entry to a party for Sam's sister, designer Charlotte Ronson. A locksmith was later seen at the residence that Ronson shared with Lohan, E! reported.

The couple had started dating about a year ago and had constantly been plagued with rumors of splits and fights. Sources told E! that the drama was the result of the Ronson family's "smear campaign to convince the DJ that Lohan was an outcast and a bully, or a wacko." A rep for Lindsay Lohan did not respond to e-mails from MTV News late Monday to confirm the split.

According to UsMagazine.com, Sam's mom and sister went to police in Beverly Hills to find out how they could get a restraining order against Lohan. "They were directed to the court to get a restraining order," Beverly Hills Sgt. Nutall told the site, although he wouldn't confirm that the inquiry was about Lohan.

After being barred from Charlotte Ronson's party on Friday, Lohan began writing about the incident on Twitter, instantly feeding rumors of a breakup.

A source told People magazine that Lohan's family is sticking by her side while she deals with the breakup.

"Is she upset? Yes. Has it been a rough week? Yes," the source told People. "But her family's around her, and she's just focusing on business right now."

For those of you still keeping score at home: Lindsay Lohan and porkpie-hat-loving DJ Samantha Ronson have not broken up ... at least not as of today. The tabloid-targeted couple reportedly got into a very public fight in Miami on New Year's Eve, but according to a post on Lohan's MySpace blog Monday, things are perfectly OK.

The post, titled "Rumors," features a picture of the smiling couple wearing matching white outfits and Lohan's statement about a "little piece of TRUE information ... we did NOT break up!" The sometime actress/singer went on to excoriate the tabloid press for not doing their research. " 'Access Hollywood,' 'Extra,' 'ET,' every tabloid, Page Six ... AND every GOSSIP website. Get your stories straight, please. It's really annoying to have all of your friends e-mailing you saying, 'I saw,' 'I read,' etc ... NOT TRUE."

As if to hammer the point home further, Lohan includes a link to her 2005 single "Rumors," a prescient song about visiting a club and asking the DJ to turn up the music, so she can just live her life and have some fun away from prying eyes. "I'm tired of rumors starting/ I'm sick of being followed," the lyrics plead. "I'm tired of people lying/ Saying what they want about me/ Why can't they back up off me/ Why can't they let me live/ I'm gonna do it my way/ Take this for just what it is."

"Access Hollywood" had reported on Monday that the couple split following a series of New Year's arguments that allegedly resulted in Lohan moving out of the home she shares with Ronson.

The chatter began following stories over the weekend in the New York Post that the couple had fought publicly during a New Year's Eve set by Ronson at the Miami club Mansion, where the two reportedly engaged in a shouting match outside the club. During that alleged spat, which, according to reports, occurred in a "really gross alley," Lohan is said to have screamed at Ronson, "When I storm off, you are supposed to follow me!" That verbal altercation then allegedly escalated into a physical shoving match back at the couple's hotel that resulted in mirrors being broken in their room.

TMZ then reported that the nuclear meltdown continued at the Miami International Airport in the American Airlines Admirals Club lounge as the two awaited a flight back to Los Angeles.

While she didn't mention Samantha Ronson by name when asked, Lindsay Lohan opened up about her relationship with the celebrity DJ and her own sexuality in an interview with Harper's Bazaar that hit the Web on Monday (November 10).

"I think it's pretty obvious who I'm seeing," said Lohan, who has been photographed with Ronson countless times in recent months. "I think it's no shock to anyone that it's been going on for quite some time. ... She's a wonderful person and I love her very much."

Lohan was evidently grilled by the interviewer about her sexuality. Asked if she'd previously been with a girl, the actress laughed and said, "I don't know. Maybe." Had she ever been embarrassed about being attracted to a woman? "No." Would she classify herself as bisexual? "Maybe. Yeah." A lesbian? "No.

"I don't want to classify myself," she continued. "First of all, you never know what's going to happen — tomorrow, in a month, a year from now, five years from now. I appreciate people, and it doesn't matter who they are, and I feel blessed to be able to feel comfortable enough with myself that I can say that."

Lohan also said she envisions herself getting married "eventually," but whether to a man or a woman, "I don't know."

She said her family, except for her estranged father, Michael (who spoke out about her relationship with Ronson in August), has supported her in the relationship. "It's never really come up as an issue," she said. "We're close; we've been through a lot. They're supportive of me whether I'm with a guy or a girl. They're just supportive of me as a person."

She even spoke about how her 14-year-old sister, Ali, asked about Ronson — and here, she mentioned her by name. "Ali's known Samantha for a really long time. And she's like, 'Whatever it is, I support you. I probably won't ever do what it is you're doing, but I'm happy for you.' Ali's very mature. I've told her that it's okay to like a boy or a girl if you're comfortable with it and it's something you believe you want to do. And I told her not to be afraid of who she wants to be."

Earlier in the interview, Lohan said she didn't want to name who she's dating because "I feel like it jinxes it. It's hard. The second I start talking about whomever I'm seeing, a month or two later it's failed."

In the interview, the actress also said that her lifestyle before her recent stint in rehab was not healthy, and she takes responsibility for her behavior. "I was going to clubs all the time, and it was not OK. I was so alone. It made me not focus on what I was doing," she said.

The actress, now 22, spent five months last year in rehab trying to fight her addictions. "I was living here [at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood] for almost two years. Who blows that much money on a hotel?" She added, "I could have bought a house!" And she admitted that these days, she'd rather watch TV than hit the clubs. "I'm the biggest loser 'Gossip Girl' fan," she admitted. "I love Chuck Bass. I want to be his friend."

She also talked a bit about her relationship with the paparazzi and the media, who have documented seemingly every up and down during the course of her career. "I think at this point," she offers, "[the media] is like, 'Let her do what she's going to do. We've seen her do enough.' "

Another tumultuous relationship she's dealt with in the public eye is the one she has with her family and mostly her on-again, off-again relationship with her dad, Michael Lohan. Currently, Lohan admits they are off-again. "I would love to say it's surprising, but it's not. It doesn't bother me as much as embarrass and hurt me. And put a knife in my back," she said about his public behavior. "And it's hard because I was flipping through channels and someone on E! called him a loser. And that's my f---ing father! He's not a bad guy. He's just making bad choices."

She's also hard at work. She has a new film, "Labor Pains," on the way, a line of leggings, 6126, out in stores, and no idea what will happen next, but she admits she's up for anything. "I don't really worry, though. I'm a fighter," Lohan said. "I'm up for a challenge, and I won't settle."

In the wake of Friday's plane crash, which killed four people and critically injured Travis Barker and DJ AM, reactions from the artists' families and musical colleagues began to arrive at MTV News. Barker's assistant, Chris "Little Chris" Baker, 29 (who appeared on MTV's reality show "Meet the Barkers"), and his security guard, Charles Still, 25, were among the people who died in the crash.

The unusual combination of friends and colleagues — Fall Out Boy, Beanie Sigel, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta and even MTV News' Tim Kash -- is a telling reflection of Barker and AM's wide circle of friends.

Fall Out Boy, who toured with Barker's +44 in 2007, said in a statement that they reacted to news of the crash with "deep sadness," and extended their sympathies to the families of those who were in the crash.

"Our band would like to reach out and put those who were a part of this tragedy and their families in our prayers, and as well our continued support for the recovery of those who survived," the statement reads. "It's times like these that we are reminded -- in the worst possible way -- to honor life. Chris [Baker] was a rad guy. He always had a way to get us to smile on tour, no matter what situation we were in, and he was truly beloved.

"In the next few days, more information will emerge and we will more fully understand the extent of this terrible tragedy," the statement continues. "In the meantime, we want to encourage anyone reading this to simply tell the people you love how you feel."

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Siegel, who recently collaborated with Barker on a few songs, told MTV News that he learned of the crash from his manager.

"I was just with Travis and the whole squad in Vegas," he said. "Man, that [news of the tragedy] took me like, 'Wow.' It's just a blessing he survived. It got me thinking, like, 'Is it all worth it?' This lifestyle and all the traveling we do.

"It was cool working with [Barker]," Sig added. "We didn't sit in the studio together, but I laid [down] my vocals and sent it to him. He called back and said he loved the record. He said he wanted to do the music over and make the record we did have an even bigger sound."

Lindsay Lohan and DJ Samantha Ronson, friends of Barker and AM, posted messages of support on their blogs.

Writing on her MySpace celebrity blog, Lohan led by saying "horrible news" and went on to write, "please send your prayers out to adam goldstein and travis barker -- along with the others lost in the plane crash ... it's so scary to think that life can end so fast ... we must all treasure each and every moment -- and be thankful for what we have. all my love ... xoxo L."

On her MySpace blog, Ronson led with a sad emoticon and then said: "my good friend adam (dj am) was in a plane crash last night, he was lucky to survive but is still in the hospital being treated for burns (so i read). i don't really know what to say, it's such horrifying news, but i was hoping you guys would please send him your best wishes/ prayers because I don't really know what else to do. also for travis barker, who was on the plane. four other people were on the plane and did not survive, i can't even imagine the pain their families must be in. soooooo sad and i'm so sorry. take good care of yourselves, samantha xo."

Several of the artists MTV News contacted on Saturday were too stunned by the news to comment right away. Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, who also toured with +44, reflected those feelings by saying, "Chris was an awesome dude and I'm shocked and saddened that this happened. I just don't know what else to say beyond that."

Lindsay Lohan's current mood is "betrayed" (cue angry emoticon), and she's not going to take it anymore.

In a blog post published on her MySpace page late Wednesday night, the actress lashed out at her estranged father, Michael, calling him "a public embarrassment and a bully" for speaking to celebrity gossip site X17Online.com and accusing Lohan's reported girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, of using his daughter to vault herself to fame.

"If you have something to say to me, say it to my face — that's what I have believed my whole life. Don't be a coward and say it to others first, let alone all the media in the world. I think we know where the rest of this blog is going. If you guessed it had to do with my father, then you guessed right," Lohan wrote in the post. "It really hurts because I have tried — after all that my mother and siblings have gone through, I really tried to make things work, for the hope of having a father again. ... Having said that, the people were right, and he is yet to change. But this time, without his daughter by his side, he has become a public embarrassment and a bully to my family, my co-workers, my friends and a girl that means the world to me (it's obvious who that is).

"He has no idea what is going on in my life because I have chosen not to involve him in it. His recent attack on my life and my loved ones is simply for an ADDICTION THAT HE HAS — FAME. Why he feels the need to comment on anything in my life that I may want to keep private is beyond comprehension," she continued. "If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it. Samantha has and would never sell me out. Nor has my mother, who is wonderful. ... I'm not going to engage any further, though I probably could go on. I have said enough. I have a therapist, and it is not the cameraman at X17."

Lohan wasn't the only one getting in on the blogging. Ronson also weighed in on the situation with a post on her MySpace page, which she titled "SHUT THE F—- UP."

"I really don't want to say anything because I feel like he wins — he being the man who is so desperate for attention that he goes to the media whenever possible. I was angry when I first read his attack on me, but ... I believe that actions speak louder than words, so now I just pity him," she wrote. "I feel no need to publicly defend my role in Lindsay's life. I'm just sorry that she likes me more than him. p.s. I'm not the one that is so lost that I need to use my relationship with Lindsay to earn a living."

Of course, none of this e-gression went unchecked by Michael Lohan, who gave a lengthy response to — who else? — X17, in which he wrote that he had no problem with his daughter's relationship with Ronson, saying that it was his ex-wife Dina who took issue with the couple.

"The response by Samantha and Lindsay regarding what I said is absolutely ridiculous. When I first spoke to X17, I clearly started that everything I said and my concerns were generated by my ex-wife, Dina (I have taped recordings, texts and the corroboration from lawyers and authorities to prove it)," he wrote. "All I want is for Lindsay to be healthy and in a good relationship. I want her to use the gifts she has in the best ways and to help others. I said it from the very beginning: Show me who you walk with, and I will tell you who you are! People may deceive us, but our eyes and facts don't! OPEN YOUR EYES!!!"

Then, just hours later — in a move that perhaps only confirmed everything Lindsay had written — her father was back on X17 again, this time to announce that his father (and LiLo's paternal grandfather) had just passed away after a lengthy bout with colon cancer.

"My father just, literally, died in my arms. I notified all my kids, and my lawyer notified Dina's attorney," he wrote. "Let's see if she has the decency and respect to bring my kids to the wake and funeral. THIS will show her true colors."
