Jonathan Richman Not Confused About New Album, Tour

After making a guest appearance in the summer comedy blockbuster "There's Something About Mary," veteran rock crooner Jonathan Richman is looking to cap off the high-profile year with a new album, "I'm So Confused," which was produced by the Cars' Ric Ocasek and is due out next week.

Aside from including both of the songs Richman performed in the film -- "There's Something About Mary" and "True Love Is Not Nice" -- the new record also features a revamped version of "Affection," a song from the ex-Modern Lovers frontman's 1979 album, "Back in Your Life."

Before launching his fall tour, Richman will perform at this weekend's Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, California, along with Barenaked Ladies, the Wallflowers, Sarah McLachlan, the Eels, Phish and host Neil Young.
