The raucous alternative rock foursome the Prom Kings features Chris Carney (vocals), Joey Hollearn (guitar), Mauricio Brandao (bass), and Luke Pickerill. The Los Angeles-based band has toured with the likes of Papa Roach, Sum 41, Unwritten Law, and 3 Doors Down since forming in 2001. Their catchy funk-pop blend caught the attention of SoCal local imprint Three Kings within months, and the Prom Kings began working on their debut album. The buzz surrounding the band grew louder in the wake of a 2004 Radio Music Awards performance, resulting in airplay on dozens of stations prior to any direct label promotion. On their self-titled album, the Prom Kings traverse the musical map, offering hard rock fury ("Angels," "Fade," "Better Man"), party-hardy jams ("Birthday," "Down"), and fearlessly passionate balladry ("The One") in equal measure. Their first single, "Alone," was issued in spring 2005, and a studio full-length, self-titled album was released later that year.
