To one generation, the hit "Twilight" soundtrack melds Stephenie Meyer's fantasy world with such up-and-coming artists as Paramore and Mute Math. To a slightly older one, it connects the iconic Perry Farrell with a chaste franchise unlike anything from his Jane's Addiction/ Porno for Pyros past.

Now, the legendary rocker is eager to bridge the gap.

Farrell and his wife, Etty, contacted MTV News this week, eager to debut the video for the song "Go All the Way (Into the Twilight)" with the one-and-only home of "Twilight" Tuesdays. Although Twilighters probably know the song's lyrics by heart at this point, wait until they get a load of this sensual clip, which has the duo dragging the vampire tale into decidedly NC-17 territory.

"We knew Catherine [Hardwicke] from her last film, 'The Lords of Dogtown,' and before 'Twilight' was all put together and fully assembled, she invited us to the studio to take a look at certain scenes and asked if we'd be interested to donate a song," Farrell told us of the song featured in the video, directed by Andrew Bennett (
Nickelback's "Rockstar"). "We had a song we were working on called 'Go All the Way,' and it suited the film perfectly."

Playing off the "Twilight" themes of reds, blacks and temptation, the clip features various club-goers celebrating their mutual attraction with pomegranates and other forbidden fruit. As Perry and Etty unleash the song's hook and lyrics like "I'm going to let you have it like you've never had it before," the video feels both appropriate and a million miles away from Edward and Bella's romance.

"This [movie] is about a young man and a young woman. [Edward] wants to go all the way in his heart, but his head is saying no. [Bella] wants to go all the way in her heart and in her head," Farrell explained. "It's the idea of going all the way."

For the one Twilighter out there who still hasn't seen the movie, "Go All the Way" plays during the prom scene at the end of the hit film. A hybrid of dance and rock, the track will also appear on Farrell's next album.

And as "New Moon" rumors continue to swirl around, Farrell told us that he and Etty are both "Twilight" fans and would love to write a song for the sequel — as long as the new director wants him. "That would be great," the Lollapalooza founder said. "I have read excerpts from [the 'Twilight' books], and Etty has read the entire series."

"I want to say the last one is my favorite," Etty said of "Breaking Dawn," the final book in Meyer's series. "Because they both get what they want, you know? It's [out there], but it's for a series. And at some point, you just want them to be happy. And in the end, they are."

Perry Farrell Jams With Fergie, Jim Morrison On Satellite Party Debut

When the self-titled debut from Perry Farrell's latest project, the Satellite Party, drops in late March, fans will find it rich with special guests — both living and dead.

The Satellite Party, which the former Jane's Addiction/ Porno for Pyros frontman has been working on since JA announced their second split in 2004, boasts contributions from the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie; Porno for Pyros guitarist Peter DiStefano; Joy Division/ New Order bassist Peter Hook; the Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante and Flea; and Jack Irons, former drummer for the Peppers and Pearl Jam (see "Flea, Frusciante Contributing To Farrell's Next Big Concept"). The LP will even feature the pipes of the late Jim Morrison, frontman of the Doors.

Portions of two spoken-word poems — believed to be the last recordings of Morrison's voice — were used to inspire and craft the song "Woman in the Window," Farrell said. But like an adroit magician, Farrell's not giving up any of his secrets.

"The only thing I can tell you about it is I have been granted permission by the Morrison estate to produce these two poems that may have been Jim's last recordings as far as anyone knows," he said. "It comes in at an amazing time. When you hear these poems, it sounds as though Jim Morrison were watching us today and commenting on the world today. I'm very reluctant to call him a prophet, because I don't want to go that far. That would be really putting myself on the line. But the words he is speaking about are soooo speaking about the world today. It leaves a person almost dumbstruck. Why would this song surface today, and how would he know about what's going on in the world now?"

Farrell did reveal that Morrison's manifestation on the album was something of a personal coup. "You could count on one hand the people who were important in my life — as far as musicians and singers — and he might be the middle finger," Farrell said. "I loved his spirit and I loved his refusal to allow anybody to even suggest that he didn't own the world, and if nothing else, I feel that spirit has got to be preserved, and we have to consider it and never let it fall from our thoughts."

Farrell, who just started planning next summer's Lollapalooza (set for August 3-5 in Chicago) and mastered the Satellite Party's LP two weeks ago, can't wait for the world to hear what he's been up to. He's also anxious to tour and bring the Party to the people. While there are no official touring plans yet, the Satellite Party's liable to pop up wherever the vibe's accommodating.

"Whenever you plan something new, you never want to abandon your tried-and-proven methods," he said. "I would never say we wouldn't want to play in traditional venues. But while we're out there on the road, why couldn't we play a beautiful art gallery or an incredible loft or the top of a mountain? We'll be looking for strange and unique places to play. If [Virgin Group founder] Richard Branson [who has launched a space tourism business called Virgin Galactic] wants to shoot us into space, we'll play there."

In fact, the whole concept behind the Satellite Party was born out of Farrell's desire to throw an extraterrestrial hoedown somewhere else in the cosmos.

"Let's make believe we're going to be shot into space for the weekend: What would we be looking at?" Farrell wondered. "The Earth, from the vantage point of a satellite. We'd be dressed to the nines. We would have these great hors d'ouvres. The music would be deep and soulful and sensual, and the interior decoration would be comfortable and slightly weightless and ecstatic and luxurious, because this would be a luxury flight. Do I want to eventually be up in space? I would be intrigued with the prospect of doing it, but if we can get the world right, and if we could make the world happy, that would mean a lot more to me than being shot into space and throwing a party up there.

"It would be fun and exciting," he added, "but human beings have to concentrate on this Earth first before they consider going anywhere else."

After teasing fans for a year and a half, former Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell will deliver on his promised solo album.
Titled Song Yet To Be Sung, Farrell's debut solo album hits stores June 19.

It was an all-star summit of new wave metal and vintage alternative rock this weekend, as Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst and Orgy guitarist Ryan Shuck hooked up in a Los Angeles studio with Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland and ex-Cult vocalist Ian Astbury to record a new version of the 1985 Sly Fox pacifist rave, "Let's Go All the Way."
Rounding out the line-up was former Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble, who played on Weiland's "12 Bar Blues" album, and F.I.N.E. singer Ashley Hamilton, the man responsible for putting the session together.
For the song, which Hamilton says was recorded for an undetermined film soundtrack, Weiland shared vocal duties with Hamilton and Astbury, LeNoble and Shuck handles their familiar instruments, while Durst sat in the production chair.
The recent flurry of studio activity for Weiland, who is also set to appear on the next Limp Bizkit record (see ), may be hopeful sign that the singer is ready to return to the studio with his STP bandmates.
Prior to his drug bust in New York City last June, Weiland predicted that Stone Temple Pilot would reform in early '99 to record a new album for release by the end of the year (see "Scott Weiland Discusses New Record, Future Of STP").
Two weeks ago, the STP singer spent a few days in an L.A. jail when authorities claimed he had violated terms of his probation agreement stemming from a different, drug-related charge. Weiland was eventually released back to a local halfway house and faces a March 26 hearing for a progress report on his treatment.

While David Gilmour of Pink Floyd has told fans not to expect anything new from the group until some time after the millennium, a new rendition of Floyd's classic anti-school anthem, "Another Brick in the Wall," can be heard on the soundtrack of the new teen sci-fi thriller, "The Faculty."

As we previously reported (see "Layne Staley, Tom Morello, Others Cover Pink Floyd For Soundtrack; Offspring, Shawn Mullins, More Contribute"), ex-Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley hooked up with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and the former Porno for Pyros rhythm section of drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Martyn LeNoble to record the track, which several of "The Faculty" cast raved about during a recent interview with MTV.

"That's awesome," said Elijah Wood of the updated version of "Brick in the Wall." "[It's a] perfect song to cover for the film as well. I'm a big fan of, like Tom Morello, Layne Staley -- [I'm a]
big Alice in Chains fan as well. And Stephen Perkins, I mean [he's from] Jane's Addiction. Classic people. It's great."

"Once they hear it," added actor Shawn Wayne Hatosy, "once they see what's going on, I think they'll really like it."

"I think what is key as well in this whole thing is that Pink Floyd doesn't let a lot of people cover their material," Wood continued, "They're really choosy about that. So the fact that [Pink Floyd] let them cover this song is, it's something they approve of. That's something."

"The Faculty" opened on Christmas Day and the Robert Rodriguez directed film has grossed more than $11.5 million to date, while you can catch the video for "Another Brick in the Wall" currently in rotation on MTV.

After being forced to cancel a few dates from his upcoming tour last week, Scott Weiland has selected a Los Angeles-based guitarist, Aaron Embry, to fill the position in his touring band left void by the departure of former Porno for Pyros guitarist Pete DiStefano.

According to the band's publicist, DiStefano, who worked on Weiland's album, "12 Bar Blues," actually bowed out of the band prior to Weiland's appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman" last month.

With sufficient rehearsal time with the new guitarist under his belt (see "Weiland Cancels Dates For More Rehearsal Time"), Weiland plans to kick-off his tour on May 15 at the pre-WHFS festival show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., along with Semisonic and Grant Lee Buffalo.

Scott Weiland has suddenly dropped off the bill for this Saturday's Save Tibet concert in Atlanta, and has canceled two other previously announced dates and postponed a third.

In addition to the Atlanta show, Weiland has nixed shows scheduled for May 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and May 12 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Stone Temple Pilots frontman has also pushed back a Philadelphia concert slated for May 13 to June 2.

According to management, Weiland needs more time to rehearse with his band, which features his producer, Daniel Lanois, as well as former Porno for Pyros members Martyn LeNoble and Pete DiStefano.

Weiland now plans to kick off his summer tour on May 15 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC before playing the WHFS Festival in the same city the following day.
