Las Vegas, Nevada quartet Panic! At The Disco was started by childhood buddies Spencer Smith (drums) and Ryan Ross (guitar) while both were in their early teens. The group would go on to include classmates Brendon Urie (vocals, guitar) and Brent Wilson (bass). The group's members all shared an interest in mainstream, pop-folk groups like Fleetwood Mac, Third Eye Blind and Counting Crows, with a special passion for pop punkers Blink 182. They went from imitating Blink's Tom Delonge and Travis Barker to writing their original material and eventually gigging on the local scene, earning a following for their seamlessly blended mixture of pop punk, rock and disco. Fall Out Boy bassist and fan Pete Wentz took the group to indie rock label Decaydence/ Fueled By Ramen where they signed their first deal. Their debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, was produced by Matt Squire (Thrice, North Star, The Receiving End of Sirens) and was released in 2006.
