Naked Eyes "Always Something There To Remind Me"

Rob Fisher, keyboardist and singer for '80s synthpop duo Naked Eyes, has died at the age of 39 after a bout with a long-term, undisclosed illness.

According to a post by his former Naked Eyes bandmate, Pete Byrne, on the group's official website, Fisher passed away on August 25 while awaiting an emergency operation. Additional details surrounding Fisher's death were not immediately available.

Fisher and Byrne formed Naked Eyes in Britain back in 1981, and scored a pair of hits in the U.S. with a cover of the Burt Bacharach-Hal David tune, "Always Something There to Remind Me," and "Promises, Promises," both of which were taken from the group's 1983 eponymous debut.

Despite the early success, Naked Eyes broke up a year later after releasing its second album, "Fuel for the Fire," and Fisher went on to work with Simon Climie in a new group, Climie Fisher.

Climie Fisher released a pair of albums in the late '80s, charting with the single "Love Changes Everything." Fisher also played keyboards on several records for such artists as Rick Astley and Jules Shear.

Fisher and Byrne had reportedly been working on and off together for the last few years, and there had been talk of releasing a new Naked Eyes studio album next year.
