The rapper, who will be arraigned on October 15, will wear an electronic tracking bracelet as he performs. ... Just as final arguments were getting under way on Tuesday in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, C-Murder's murder trial abruptly stopped when an appeals court ruled that prosecutors could tell jurors that a charge of manslaughter was also available. The defense had rested on Monday after presenting nine witnesses who said that the rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, had nothing to do with the beating or shooting, contradicting two prosecution witnesses who said they saw Miller attack 16-year-old Steve Thomas and saw and heard the shooting, though they did not see the weapon itself. The defense witnesses, however, contradicted each other, each saying that Miller was in a different part of the bar when the fight started. If convicted of second-degree murder, Miller (the younger brother of Master P) would get a life sentence. Manslaughter, however, carries up to 40 years in prison. ...
