Mixi

Catapulted to fame by the reality television series Redemption Song, singer/songwriter Mixi mixes more contemporary influences like Gwen Stefani and Sublime with her love of truly old-school acts like Louis Armstrong and Nancy Sinatra. Born in Orlando, FL, Mixi moved to Hollywood, CA because of a boyfriend. When the relationship ended, she stayed on the West Coast and joined the band Anti-Product. An ad on the Internet brought her to the Fuse TV network's 2008 series Redemption Song where she competed against ten other girls for a recording contract. She won and landed a deal with the Geffen label. Her winning track, the nostalgia-filled "I Miss Those Days (Ghost)," was made available as a digital download late that same year. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
