Mistress

Born in the heavy metal Mecca of Birmingham, England Mistress began producing their crushing, seething, viciously anti-social style of deathcore in the late '90s. Following a series of E.P.'s and a split disc with stone-rockers Sally, the band -- consisting of vocalist Dave Cunt, guitarists Drunken and Misery, bassist Dirty, and drummer Migg -- signed to Rage of Achilles Records, and put out their debut album in 2002 to much critical acclaim. 2003's equally accomplished sophomore effort, Mistress II: The Chronovisor helped intensify their growing buzz, and, adding to their indie credibility, the members of Mistress also claim to utilize only broken and battered equipment for their recordings. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
