Pelle Miljoona

Pelle Miljoona is a Finnish punk legend who debuted in 1978 and remained both active and popular in the decades that followed. He is also a published author. Born Petri Samuli Tiili on February 10, 1955, in Hamina, Finland, he made his album debut in 1978 and released a new album more or less annually through the end of the century and beyond, often shuffling his band lineups and releasing his albums under a variety of band names. Miljoona experienced exceptional success with the album Moottoritie On Kuuma (1980), whose title track was a big hit for him, perhaps the greatest of his career. The four-CD box set Olen Kaunis: Kaikki Laulut 1978-1980 (2008) includes a wealth of material from Miljoona's prime. It was a Top Ten hit upon its release.
