If there's anyone who knows how to put on a full-court promotional press, it's Madonna. And on the heels of a buzzed-about Super Bowl performance that was seen by a record 112.6 million people at its peak, the singer is enjoying a major post-game sales bump. According to figures provided by a spokesperson, thanks to a first-of-its-kind all-in worldwide effort from radio giant Clear Channel Communications that began last Friday (February 3), "Give Me All Your Luvin' " got a huge boost via its debut on more than 100 CC radio stations across the country. It was also helped along by the premiere of the video on 1,600 outdoor digital billboards across the globe, including ones in New York's Times Square and others in Las Vegas, London, Paris, Norway and Finland. Finally, the company pushed the single and video on its websites and mobile platforms and on the "Madonna Radio" online channel link on the iHeartRadio.com home page. As a result of the rollout of the "Luvin' " single and video across the many CC platforms, pre-orders for Madonna's new album, MDNA, due out on March 26, jumped to #1 on the iTunes albums chart. The effort, which encouraged fans to buy the single and order the album on iTunes, reportedly helped MDNA land the biggest one-day pre-order in iTunes history and pushed it to #1 in the iTunes stores in 50 countries. At press time, the "Luvin' " video had been watched more than 12.5 million times on YouTube, and the song's debut at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart marked Madge's 56th appearance on that tally. The massive rollout of "Luvin' " and MDNA aren't the only gaudy numbers being put up by the 53-year-old music icon, either. A glance at the colossal effort that went into Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show is enough to make any athlete blush.

According to figures provided by the singer's spokesperson, the halftime medley required 320 hours of rehearsal and included 20 dancing dolls, 17 main dancers, 200 members of a gospel choir from the Indianapolis area and 150 gladiators to carry Madonna into the stadium. Those buff bearers were outfitted in 200 pairs of black Calvin Klein briefs, which they were allowed to take home after the gig. Some other eye-popping details: »It took 750 hours to create and complete the gold Givenchy cape Madonna arrived in, and the golden throne she sat on weighed 1,200 pounds. »In addition to 100 drumline performers, there were 250 volunteers who assembled and broke down the stage in just six minutes.
»It took 36 projectors to create the performance's high-tech light show.
»Not only were Madonna's eye shadow and lipstick enhanced by ground-up 18k gold, but her eyelids were blinged out by 120 individual false eyelashes each.

In the days since M.I.A. hit the Super Bowl stage and threw her middle finger up in the air, Madonna has remained mum on the subject. Until now.

The singer called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show Friday morning and finally shared her sentiments on the rapper's naughty hand gesture and the headlines it made in wake of the show. Sarcastically calling it "punk rock," Madge said she didn't realize it happened until after she walked off the stage, noting that she couldn't keep track of everything that was happening while the performance was taking place. But, once she did find out, she wasn't amused by her "Give Me All Your Luvin' " collaborator's actions. "I was really surprised. I didn't know anything about it. I wasn't happy about it. I understand it's punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity; it seemed negative," she said. "It's such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do. ... There was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place." She later added that despite the snafu she "was overwhelmed. I started crying. I felt an incredible sense of warmth, love, and support. To see an entire stadium light up like candles it was ... like a religious experience." Much like Madonna, fellow Super Bowl halftime performer Cee Lo Green had no idea that M.I.A. had given the middle finger during the show. "Honestly, I did not hear anything about it," he continued. "There was no talk about it in the dressing room afterwards and we didn't stay long after the performance because it was honestly a relief we had had it done. So I didn't hear anything until I got up to do the morning show, 'Today.' And television is a very sensitive [thing]." With that controversy behind her, Madge is looking to the future. She's next set to start work on her world tour and shoot her video for the second MDNA single, "Girls Gone Wild." As for those rumors that Britney Spears is on the track she said, "No, it's just little, ol' me. She can come on stage and perform with me."

Could it be that Madonna has enlisted her pal Britney Spears for MDNA?

Well, according to a leaked album jacket, it seems that Spears is making an appearance on the album's lead track, "Girls Gone Wild." This would mark the second collaboration on the album. Madonna nabbed Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. for the album's first single, "Give Me All Your Luvin'." While the leaked jacket, which appeared on Britney fansite Breatheheavy.com, can't be confirmed as authentic, a rep for Madge had no comment about the rumor, neither confirming nor denying it. Meanwhile, a rep for Spears never returned MTV News' request for comment. This is hardly the first time that the two ladies have worked together. In fact, they have quite a history with each other. The duo kicked off their nearly decade-long friendship at the 2003 VMAs when, in case you hadn't heard, they shared an onstage kiss while performing together. It was the kiss seen and heard around the world, and nearly 10 years later it is still often talked about as one of the most memorable moments in the show's storied history. After they shared that smooch, Spears was inspired to get the Queen of Pop on her lead In the Zone single, "Me Against the Music." "I was in the middle of rehearsals for the VMAs and I played her the song, and she was like, 'That's your first single, right?' " Britney recalled in a vintage interview with MTV. "I was like, 'Yeah, hopefully.' She was like, 'I really like it.' I was like, 'Really?' I was like, 'Well, you wanna do it with me?' She said, 'Yeah.' " They later appeared together in the warehouse-set video with one another, playing a pop star cat-and-mouse game that featured a near kiss. Five years later, as Spears was prepping her return to the pop spotlight, she appeared onstage with Madonna during a Sticky & Sweet Tour stop at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The singer hit the stage with the pop icon to perform "Human Nature" by her side. That same year, Madonna appeared in Spears' documentary, "For the Record," where she spoke about the younger singer. "I admire her as an artist," the Material Girl said, adding that she sees a lot of herself in Spears. In 2011, as Spears was prepping the release of her album Femme Fatale, in an interview with Out magazine, she noted that she truly admires her friend. "Madonna. No question. She is an amazing entertainer," she said when asked whose career she most would want to emulate. As Madonna preps the release of MDNA in March, Spears is also the topic of conversation in a recent interview with her. When asked by ABC News what it was like to smooch the pop princess, she commented, "Nice moment, good kisser. Cool," she said, clarifying that she wouldn't do it again. "No, I already did it. I don't like to repeat myself." Well, perhaps a kiss would be "reductive" (her word, not ours), but it seems given the love that Madge and Spears fans have for the two pop stars, they wouldn't mind them cooking up some musical magic. The track, "Girls Gone Wild," was teased in a megamix that dropped last week and it certainly feels like it would lend itself to both Madonna and Brit's musical sensibilities: It's fist-pumpingly dance-y, sexy and all about going out and having a good time, with Madge proclaiming, "Girls, they just want to have some fun/ Get fired up like a smoking gun/ On the floor till the daylight comes/ Girls, they just want to have some fun."

When Madonna calls, you answer. The Queen of Pop rang up Cee Lo Green several months back about performing "Like a Prayer" during the Super Bowl halftime show, and he didn't give it a second thought.

"I was asked — cordially invited — by Madonna to be a part of it and, of course, very eagerly obliged. So it was basically as simple as that," he told MTV News late Monday about the eye-catching gig, which included a dazzling light show, loads of dancers and fellow guests LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. "It was kind of like a no-brainer. Working with Madonna is a very simple process," he added. "She's a very hard worker, quite the perfectionist, and we worked awfully hard for that entire 12-minute performance to be as close to perfection as possible." With 100 million-plus viewers tuning in to the game and halftime show, it was no doubt the biggest audience Cee Lo and company had ever performed in front of. But everyone was so ready for anything that there was very little room for error or time to be nervous, Cee Lo told us. "In our line of business and at this point of my career, I think I'm as prepared as you can be," he said. "I'm most certainly poised to be in that place, in this place. It's where we rehearsed, so well in advance, that it becomes a second nature." Cee Lo cited the professionalism of Madge and the entire crew for the performance going off without a hitch. "The technicalities of it are just amazing," he said. "[It was] such a large crew that really helped. Without their tenacity and their know-how, it could not be done. It would be impossible. So I must commend the entire crew. Technically it takes an entire team to make something like that a success."

Fashion also played a big part in the performance. While Madonna was sporting looks by Givenchy, Cee Lo's black, sequined choir robe was a design all his own. "They tease and they call me 'Reverend Green' and 'Preacher Green,' so I had a couple of those robes made just for fun," he explained. "I mean, you know me, I'm still the same, you know, known for my sense of style, so on and so forth. And when the nature of the performance was discussed and they were saying, 'We're gonna do "Like a Prayer" and everyone will be in robes,' and they were looking for my measurements to see if they were going to have to make me one, and I was like, 'What do you mean? She scored a touchdown during halftime at the Super Bowl,  and now Madonna is properly tuned-up to take her show on the road.

On Monday, the CEO of Live Nation Global Touring announced that Madonna would launch her 2012 world tour in support of her upcoming MDNA album on May 29 with a show in Tel Aviv, Israel. He told Billboard magazine that the outing will be the singer's most extensive tour in terms of total dates and will take her to Australia for the first time in 20 years. She'll play a combination of arenas, stadiums and outdoor sites, hitting 26 European and Middle Eastern markets (including London, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Abu Dhabi and Berlin) before turning her attention to the U.S. Her North American shows start with an August 28 gig in Philadelphia and include 25 dates. Among them are a September 6 show at New York's Yankee Stadium and an October 10 stop at the Staples Center in Los Angeles before she heads to Latin America after Thanksgiving. Other cities on the itinerary include: Boston, Atlantic City, Chicago, Washington, Seattle, Las Vegas, Dallas and New Orleans. Tickets for the North American dates will go on sale beginning on February 13. The bar is already set high for Madonna, since her 2008-2009 Sticky & Sweet Tour grossed $408 million, which is the highest amount ever raked in by a solo artist and third-best of all time. Madonna did it all on Sunday night when she performed during the Super Bowl halftime show in Indianapolis.

She was an Egyptian Queen "Vogue"-ing it up for her biggest devotees. She was a cheerleader, cheering on L-U-V alongside a middle-finger flinging M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj for "Give Me All Your Luvin'." She got her "Music" on with LMFAO and she sang the gospel of "Like a Prayer" with Cee Lo Green. In a sea of costume changes (with looks by Givenchy and Adidas Originals Jeremy Scott), dancers, acrobats, A-list collaborators and a killer set list, Madonna seemed to leave very little to chance. Sure, there were a few slip-ups, but, in the end, Madonna ensured that all anyone would be talking about around the water cooler come Monday morning was her, whether or not you completely loved what she did during the show. "It's Madonna Louise Ciccone's world, we're just living in it," Billboard.com wrote about her 12-minute-plus performance. "The pop icon took to the world's biggest stage to rock three-and-a-half older tracks and a playful new song during the Super Bowl halftime show." While the Super Bowl audience is usually dominated by people who most likely aren't Madge fans, the singer, according to one review, seemed indifferent to that fact. "Madonna was defiantly unconcerned with the more conservative red state wing of the football fanbase who'd never be caught dead singing along to one of her songs," the Los Angeles Times noted about her performance. "And her halftime show was pure spectacle by the Cleopatra of the game." The show, according to the Chicago Tribune, wasn't just about her, but also about reminding fans that she's about to drop her next album, MDNA, in March. "This was Madonna's party, and besides breaking off bits of her greatest hits to remind people of a time when she was the biggest pop vixen on the planet, she had important career-advancing work to do," the review noted. "Madonna, after all, never does anything unless she's got something to sell, and with a new studio album due out in March and a tour to follow, she had plenty on her to-do list." Katy Perry got her Super Bowl on over the weekend in Indianapolis. The Grammy-nominated singer donned some colorful gear when she headlined the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night party, but it's the folks she shouted out during the bash's performance that drew attention.

When Perry took the stage the night before the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, she wore a football-themed outfit (jersey-style top and short shorts) and busted through a banner with her name on it, People.com reported. The singer asked the crowd, "Who else is excited for Madonna? That's the only reason that I came!" Madge, of course, took the stage on Sunday for the Super Bowl halftime show, which featured gladiator fashions by Givenchy and appearances from M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and Cee Lo Green. Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, was in attendance at Perry's show, as were Shaquille O'Neal, Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka, Chris Meloni, and Scott Wolf. Before Perry launched into her cheerleader anthem-sounding Teenage Dream track "Peacock," she shouted out one football player who wasn't even playing in Sunday's big game: "This one goes out to Tim Tebow," she said. According to E! News, earlier on Saturday at the NFL Honors ceremony, Perry presented an award to Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and had another message for Tebow. "Hey Tim, my parents say hi," she said. Perry's parents are reportedly trying to matchmake the pair. While Perry spent her weekend teasing Tebow at various events, a source who attended the ESPN Next party on Friday night tell MTV News that Tebow spent the night flirting with TV host Maria Menounos. The two chatted it up while Drake handed out shots to the women in attendance before performing at the party. Kellan Lutz, Matthew Morrison, Jermaine Dupri, Cam Newton, Plaxico Burress, Michael Strahan, Vivica Fox, Sherri Shepherd, Spike Lee, Connor Cruise and Blake Shelton were also spotted at the bash.

Two days before Madonna took the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show, she dropped a video for her lead MDNA single "Give Me All Your Luvin' " that was chock-full of cheerleaders and football players.

While it may seem awfully suspicious that Madge would tout football in a video released mere days before her halftime spectacle Sunday night, the clip's duo of directors, the Megaforce, insist the similarly themed moments are purely coincidental. "I think the track has something to do with cheerleading. It's pretty clear that the beginning is a kind of cheering [anthem]," the Megaforce's Clement Gallet told MTV News about the song, which also features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. "With this one, it felt like there was no point to bring it somewhere else [in terms of visuals] other than where it was. I don't think our cheerleaders are really obvious."

In fact, the cheerleaders in the video look way different than the ones cheering at the Big Game. Led by Minaj and M.I.A., the cheer squad sports anime-like masks and even gets a bit cheekily violent when one bats the head off a football player near the end of the clip. While the Super Bowl plans had been in the air when Madge and the crew hit the New York set back in December, the video's look was influenced more by the Martin Solveig track than anything else, the director say. "We were aware that this video, this track was supposed to be aired during the Super Bowl, but we never felt or we were never even asked to make something in relation to the Super Bowl," Gallet explained. "And I think it's just — it's not a coincidence, we had the Super Bowl in mind — but we are not doing a video about Super Bowl." During the 13 minutes Madonna took over Super Bowl XLVI for her highly anticipated halftime show, there were plenty of surprise cameos, high-tech stage lights and, of course, some of the biggest classics in pop music. But even though the Queen of Pop's glitzy show Sunday night (February 5) appeared to run smoothly, the over-the-top theatrics might have shadowed some of the fumbles. Take a look at the list of onstage slip-ups MTV News caught during the pop performer's set.

It was only a few minutes into the show, but Madonna lost her balance and almost fell as she jumped around the flashing bleachers with her dancers during her performance of "Music." She also teetered a few minutes later while getting up after getting down with LMFAO. Madonna wouldn't be Madonna without even a little controversy, but this time, it wasn't even her fault. During the performance of the pop titan's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin," M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj appeared as sideline cheerleaders to spit their rap contribution to the pop gem. While Madge is getting lots of love from celebrities, there are many who are criticizing the Queen of Pop for what appears to be a mostly backing-track performance. However, lip-synching isn't unfamiliar territory for the Super Bowl. Back in 2009, the championship game's producer Ricky Minor told the Associated Press that he requested Jennifer Hudson lip-synch her rendition of the national anthem to limit the chances of possible mistakes. Madonna does everything big, and her Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night (February 5) was no exception. From her elaborate staging, wave of synchronized dancers and surprise onstage guests, the Queen of Pop has all kind of stars, including Kim Kardashian and Ashton Kutcher, abuzz — and probably singing along, too. Taking to Twitter to dish about Madge's over-the-top medley of songs, Kardashian kept her praise short and sweet: "Madonna is EVERYTHING! She looks soooo good!" she wrote.

Kutcher was another fan of the pop titan's high-energy performance as he confessed, "#fact Madonna is crushing it!" Not only did Ryan Seacrest find a liking to Madonna's set, but also her surprise performers. "Loved the madonna performance, i think she nailed it. Great job by @LMFAO, @NickiMinaj, @CeeloGreen too," he tweeted. With the season premiere of "The Voice" scheduled for right after Sunday's big game, Christina Aguilera also showed support for her fellow co-star, tweeting, "@CeeLoGreen you killed it with Madonna at half time!" Love for Madonna's show was also spread to another Kardashian sister, as Kourtney wrote, "Nobody is better than Madonna. She was perfection. Like a Prayer was my favorite part. Did everyone LOVE it as much as I did?" Despite his remarks on the singer's backing track, Perez Hilton was extremely impressed by the superstar's "Like a Player" finale, writing, "Wow. That 'Like A Prayer' finale was one of the best things #Madonna has EVER done! Soooo epic!!!" Paula Abdul was full of compliments, calling the pop performer's halftime show "brilliant." "I was dancing &singing along w/ @CeeLoGreen #Madonna Like A Prayer was AWESOME!" she wrote. "Well played #Superbowl WELL PLAYED-amazing #HalfTime show!" Age proved nothing but a number to the rest of the Twitter-verse when "Madonna is 53" became a trending topic shortly after she wrapped up her performance.
