Full Biography

  1. A native of Philadelphia, pop singer Ana Lovelis studied a variety of performance disciplines in her teens, including classical ballet and musical theater. However, after high school Lovelis relocated to New York City and became involved in the arty/edgy club scene, most notably playing in a punk ukulele covers band. Ultimately though, it was her own melodic rock tunes like "Mother of a Hit Song" that became her focus and helped her win Playboy.com's America's Best Unsigned Band contest in 2004. Lovelis released a self-titled album on Trident in Japan that year, as well as an independent album, Nothin' But Love (Postal Service Madness), on her own label in the U.S. in 2005. After moving to Los Angeles, Lovelis began work on her third album, which was set for release in the fall of 2008. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
