Full Biography

Timeless songs and a contagious youthful optimism are the foundations of Wisconsin raised, Brooklyn based Locksley -- comprised of Jesse Laz (vocals/guitar), Jordan Laz (bass/vocals), Kai Kennedy (lead guitar/vocals) and Sam Bair (drums). Locksley's unique brand of modern garage-pop comes from combining the melody, harmony and songwriting ethos of the 1960's with the performance sensibilities of early American punk and modern garage. To give more direct perspective, their music and live shows most commonly draw comparisons to The Beatles, The Kinks, The Cure, The Clash, The Stray Cats, The Libertines and The Strokes. Following self-releases of an EP and a full-length disc, the band has found success licensing their music. Locksley has been heard in commercials for the STARZ movie network, Payless Shoes, AT&T and Sylvania, as well as in the films "Over Her Dead Body" and J.J. Abrams' "Cloverfield." Additionally, MTV used the band's "Why Can't I Be You" as the theme to the show of the same name. Locksley's blistering live performances that have earned them a rabid fanbase and the band has toured with The Hives, Rooney, Hanson, The Rapture and OK Go, and has shared stages with The Almost, She Wants Revenge, We Are Scientists and The Dandy Warhols, among others. The group will headline fall 2008 MTV's Choose or Lose tour, while supporting the September reissue release of their album, "Don't Make Me Wait," which will boast two tracks not on the 2006 version.
