Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott Marries Chris Tyrrell

'We're so excited to be starting our life together,' Scott says in video message posted on band's website after Saturday wedding.

Lady Antebellum's leading lady, Hillary Scott, is now a married woman.

The singer announced that she married drummer Chris Tyrrell on Saturday in New York.

In a video message posted by the newlyweds on the Lady Antebellum website, they shared the good news. "We got married!" Scott said, with her new husband by her side. "We just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you. We're so excited to be starting our life together and we just had to let you in on the exciting news."

The couple exchanged "I do's" in upstate New York in front of family and friends, People.com reports. Scott's Lady Antebellum bandmates, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, couldn't attend. But a rep for the band said, "They look forward to celebrating with both Hillary and Chris in the coming weeks."

Scott wore a dress designed by Vera Wang while the groom wore Ermenegildo Zegna. The twosome got engaged in July. "There is so much excitement at the beginning of a new relationship," Scott once told Billboard magazine about the song "Just a Kiss," which was inspired by her relationship with Tyrrell. "This song is about one of those times when your brain kicks in and tells your heart, 'Good things are worth waiting for.' "

In Redbook magazine, Scott said she fell for Tyrrell when she met him back in college. "We went to different schools in Tennessee and met through mutual friends," she recalled. "I thought off the bat that he was really attractive, and I could tell that he was kind. Kindness just oozes out of him. I wanted to date him when I met him! And he just wanted to play basketball."

Lady Antebellum Own The Billboard Chart

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV falls behind country trio's Own the Night.

Country trio Lady Antebellum are picking up right where they left off. The group's new album, Own the Night, will grab the #1 spot on the Billboard albums chart next week thanks to sales of 347,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Their latest picks up where Lady A's last album, 2010's multiplatinum, Grammy-winning breakthrough Need You Now, left off.

That debut pushed last week's #1, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV, down to #3 in its third week on the charts, with sales falling 47 percent to 117,000 for a three-week total just north of 1.3 million. Holding tight once again at #2 was Adele's unstoppable 21, which pushed past the 3.5 million mark thanks to sales of another 119,000.

Among the debuts this week was a #4 bow for country singer Gilbert Brantley, whose Halfway to Heaven sold 51,000 copies; along with long-running rockers Staind, hitting #5 with a self-titled album (47,000); prog legends Dream Theater, whose Dramatic Turn of Events landed at #8 (36,000); and Devil Wears Prada with Dead Throne (#10, 32,000).

The rest of the top 10: Beatles, 1 (#6, 46,000); George Strait, Here for a Good Time (#7, 43,000); and Jay-Z and Kanye West, Watch the Throne (#9, 36,000).

Veteran rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers slipped out of the top 10 in their third week on the charts with I'm With You, dropping six spots to #11 as sales fell 44 percent to 32,000, while Beyoncé's 4 shed 11 chart points to hit #20 (20,000). Further down the line, reunited band Primus returned to the charts at #15 with Green Naugahyde (#15, 24,000). Another re-formed act, Bush, was just behind at #18 with Sea of Memories (20,000), and indie darling St. Vincent came in at #19 with Strange Mercy (#19, 20, 000).

Lady A owned the night on the iTunes album chart as well, taking the #1 slot ahead of Adele, Wayne, pre-orders for Coldplay's upcoming Mylo Xyloto, the Beatles and Staind. Rounding out the tally were Gilbert at #7, then Jay and 'Ye, Ben Rector with Something Like This and Foster the People's Torches.

Maroon 5's late-summer surge continued as their hookup with Christina Aguilera, "Moves Like Jagger," stayed at #1 on the iTunes singles chart, followed by Adele's "Someone Like You," Foster the People's "Pumped up Kicks," Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts," Coldplay's "Paradise," Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel ... ," LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink to That)," Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I" and David Guetta's "Without You."

With a huge promotional push and appearances by Lady Gaga and the late Amy Winehouse, Tony Bennett's Duets II has a solid shot at the #1 spot next week, which will also bring on new albums from Demi Lovato, Gavin DeGraw, Needtobreathe and Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger's new all-star group, SuperHeavy.

Lil Wayne, Red Hot Chili Peppers Lead Most-Anticipated Albums

Drake, Blink-182, David Guetta, Evanescence and 'American Idol' alums also expected to drop new music in 2011 second half.

The record industry finally had some good news to report in the first half of the year thanks to some incremental positive growth as a result of strong album sales from Lady Gaga, Adele, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. But with six months left in 2011, the returns could bulge even further if even half of the albums left on label rosters see the light of day.

Release dates have constantly shifted and some aren't even on schedules yet, but the second half of this year promises new releases from Lil Wayne; Kanye West and Jay-Z; Dr. Dre; Evanescence; Joe Jonas; last year's chart slayers, country trio Lady Antebellum; dance master David Guetta; and original "American Idol" Kelly Clarkson.

Here's a breakdown of the most anticipated albums on tap for the rest of the year (with the caveat that some release dates could and likely will change).

Hip-Hop
Although a release date is still one of the best-kept secrets in music, all eyes are on Watch the Throne, the hotly anticipated collabo between Kanye West and Jay-Z. We've seen the album cover art so far and pre-orders are being taken for what could be an early August ship date, but no official announcement has been made so far.

Another record that's been pushed around more than LeBron James in this year's NBA finals is Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV. Weezy's given us a preview of his latest opus with "How to Love," which is already a hit on iTunes, and the latest due date for the fourth installment in the Carter series is August 29.

Fans are also looking forward to Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't album, the major-label debut from Jay Electronica, 50 Cent's long-gestating new effort, and another disc that's been bubbling under for more than a year, Game's The R.E.D. Album, which could finally hit shelves on August 23.

Game has promised to have formerly estranged mentor Dr. Dre back in the pocket on that one, and speaking of the good doctor, the reclusive studio genius may finally release his near decade-in-the-making Detox disc this year. Maybe.

Almost equally salivated over is Drake's second studio effort, Take Care, which is slated to hit on October 24. Fans have already gotten a taste of what to expect from the recently released track "Marvins Room," which followed another song that may make the cut, "Dreams Money Can Buy."

B.o.B has made it clear that he's not packing a bunch of flashy features on the follow-up to his gold-certified debut, The Adventures of Bobby Ray. What we don't know yet is when, exactly, it will drop.

Also look for new albums from Akon and Nas.

Pop/Country/R&B
Lady Gaga and Britney Spears appeared to suck all of the oxygen out of the pop sphere earlier this year, but there is plenty more on the horizon, including a new album from last year's chart champs, country trio Lady Antebellum, Own the Night; the debuts from "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery, runner-up Lauren Alaina and ninth-place finisher Pia Toscano around the holidays; and the first full-length from Internet sensation Greyson Chance, Hold on 'Til the Night, on August 2.

Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas steps out with his dance-inspired solo debut, Fast Life, in September, and Mary J. Blige gets help from Kanye, Swizz Beatz and Stargate on My Life II, The Journey Continues (also due in September).

"Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert is working on his "dream" album as the follow-up to his 2009 debut, with help from such songwriting pros as Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia. Hoping to get something in stores this year, oft-thwarted former Pussycat Dolls singer (and "X Factor" replacement judge) Nicole Scherzinger is planning to unleash her latest solo album, Killer Love, before year's end, with assists from RedOne, Jim Jonsin, The-Dream, Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent. And it's probably a long shot, but long-dormant reggae popsters No Doubt are nearly done with their first album in a decade, which may see the light of day before 2011 is out.

Also slated for this year: Fiona Apple, former "American Idol" champs Kris Allen and Kelly Clarkson, Santigold, ex-Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland (Here I Am, July 26) and electronic beatmeister David Guetta's Nothing But the Beat (August 30), which features contributions from Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Ludacris, will.i.am, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Jennifer Hudson and Sia.

Rock
2011 has been a bit light on the rock so far, but a number of artists look to correct that, including long-dormant Evanescence. The Amy Lee-led band will roar back with The Open Door on October 4, a disc Lee promises "smacks you right in the face."

Speaking of face-smacking, veteran funk-rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers have the usual collection of heavy grooves on tap for I'm With You, their Rick Rubin-produced album due out on August 30.

Another lifer, Lenny Kravitz, also ends a self-imposed hiatus that day with his latest, Black and White America, and after reuniting in 2009, punk-poppers Blink-182 swear we'll get new music from them before summer is out.

We're still not sure exactly what Coldplay's new album is really about, but we know they'll probably be playing some of the tunes from the still-untitled effort this summer at Lollapalooza. And that the paint-splashed video for the first single, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," is packed with the kind of uplifting, positive vibes we've come to expect from the group.

Also on tap: The Great Escape Artist, the first new album in eight years from alternative godfathers Jane's Addiction; the first independent label effort from Wilco, The Whole Love (September 27); the solo debut of former Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump; another chunk of hot metal from Mastodon; an album-length collaboration between Metallica and punk icon Lou Reed; the long-anticipated third album from professional train wreck Amy Winehouse; and the first listen to fellow former FOB member Pete Wentz's new band, Black Cards.

Country star will marry drummer Chris Tyrrell, whom she met while on tour with Tim McGraw in 2010.

Lady Antebellum's leading lady, Hillary Scott, and drummer Chris Tyrrell have announced their engagement. The couple met in 2010 when each of their bands served as opening acts for Tim McGraw.

Tyrrell popped the question over the Fourth of July weekend in Tennessee. "Chris proposed exactly the way I've always dreamed," Scott told People.com. "Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and — in our workout clothes — he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that he sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!"

A wedding date hasn't been set, and the two musicians are busy with their careers. Tyrrell is currently on Brad Paisley's H20 II Tour backing up Edens Edge on the drums, while the Grammy-winning Lady Antebellum are on their own headlining tour.

In past interviews, Scott has opened up about Tyrrell's sweet side. "I had a really good Christmas present from my boyfriend," the singer told radio station Kickin' Country 100.5 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in February, according to MSNBC. "He planned this whole afternoon/evening. At that end of the night, I was like, 'This is someone who truly cares and knows me so well.'

"We were in Saratoga, New York, actually. ... There's a main street in Saratoga that's absolutely beautiful and there's cute little shops so we went in and out of those and then went to a really nice dinner. ... To take the cake, he got a private carriage ride through this beautiful national park," she continued. "Like, a horse-drawn carriage. It was awesome. It was so sweet!"

Shortly after they began dating last year, Scott told Usmagazine.com that she felt "blessed" to be with Tyrrell. "Whatever just happens naturally is what we go with," she said. "But when it all comes down to do it, there's a lot of timing and fate involved."

Grammys 2011 Belong To Arcade Fire, Lady Antebellum

Eminem picks up two awards, with Esperanza Spalding topping Justin Bieber and Drake for Best New Artist.

The evening was supposed to be a coronation for Eminem, who was up for a leading 10 awards. But on Sunday night (February 13) at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, Slim Shady ended up with only two rap honors as his smash comeback Recovery took a backseat to country trio Lady Antebellum, who shocked the world with a slew of high-profile wins and a night's-best haul with five Golden Gramophones.

But that wasn't the only banner headline of the night. No, the Album of the Year category served up one of the all-time jaw-droppers in Grammy history, as Eminem was denied that honor for a third time. Many considered that one a lock for the superstar Detroit rapper, whose fight back from addiction to mega-platinum success was the kind of redemption story the Grammys simply can't resist.

Except on Sunday night, it was ragtag Canadian indie rockers the Arcade Fire who became the biggest Album of the Year Grammy underdogs in history, snagging the coveted top prize for their exploration of suburban ennui and teen angst on the critically acclaimed The Suburbs.

After just finishing a performance, the band looked shell-shocked, with singer Win Butler crawling out on his knees to accept the prize. "What the hell," he said, dumbfounded, as he thanked his home province of Quebec and fans. "We're going to go play another song, because we like music," he added, as the collective rushed back to their places and Butler deposited his new bauble on an amplifier before ripping into "Ready to Start."

It was a night of celebrating such modern stars as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, and though those artists all put on superstar performances, they mostly left with memories of a big night, but not much hardware.

The three-and-a-half-hour show opened with an all-star tribute to Grammy legend Aretha Franklin that joined Cristina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine) Martina McBride and Yolanda Adams, followed by Lady Gaga performing "Born This Way" live on TV for the first time. Taking the stage in her pearlescent egg and emerging from the space pod in a flesh-colored skirt and bra that looked like a sexy surgical glove, she put on a dance-pop clinic by busting sinewy disco line-dancing moves and striking fierce poses while giving the song a gospel soul flair.

Justin Bieber made a case for next year's Grammys with a heartfelt solo acoustic strum through "Baby," which glided into a taiko-drum intro for the title track from his 3-D movie, "Never Say Never," complete with break-dancing ninja acrobats, fire breathers and a cameo rap from the equally self-assured Jaden Smith. Mentor Usher then tapped a Janet circa "Rhythm Nation" vibe during a popping-and-locking group dance to "OMG." He'll have to wait for some Grammy bling, though, as he took a backseat to another surprise out-of-nowhere winner, Esperanza Spalding, who took the honors in the Best New Artist category. The dark-horse win by the underexposed jazz bassist and vocalist was one of the night's big shockers, as she beat out such tipped potential winners as Drake, Mumford & Sons and Florence and the Machine. Eminem's hit collabo with Rihanna, "Love the Way You Lie," may have gotten blanked five times, but he got the night started early by winning the Best Rap Solo Performance award for "Not Afraid" but later lost out to Gaga in the Best Short Form Music Video race, in which she snagged the prize for "Bad Romance." The songwriters award, Song of the Year, went to Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," which beat out Em's "Love the Way You Lie," Cee Lo's "F--- You" (listed as "The Song Otherwise Known as 'Forget You' ") and tracks by Ray LaMontagne and Miranda Lambert. The group beat Em, Cee Lo, B.o.B and Jay-Z in Record of the Year as well.

One of the tightest categories, Best Rap Album, pitted such legends as Jay-Z and the Roots against upstarts B.o.B and Drake, but Slim Shady came through in that one. "This is crazy," the always serious-looking MC said, making sure to thank his producers and Rihanna, whom he said helped propel Recovery to sales of more than 4 million. "Thank you to the fans — what up, Detroit? Stand up!" he shouted at the end. After picking up some early nods, Gaga won an on-camera award as well, Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster, besting John Mayer, Perry, Susan Boyle and Bieber for one of her three wins of the night. Wearing a body-hugging leather dress and sporting flesh-colored horns on her forehead and shoulders, Gaga said something unmentionable, then added, "Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, to all my fans, to all my monsters watching ... I had this dream when I was really young that I could be whoever I wanted to be and no matter what I visioned for myself, I would do it, no matter who didn't believe in me."

One of the most anticipated performances opened with Rihanna belting "Love the Way You Lie" along with Maroon 5's Adam Levine on piano joined by an on-fire Eminem spitting his verses on a stage engulfed in digital flames. That hard-hitter slid into "I Need a Doctor," the titanic, gothic collabo with his reclusive mentor Dr. Dre, who came out in matching all-black attire and proved that his rhyming skills haven't diminished in his nearly decade-long absence from TV performance. Rihanna was back later in yet another stunning, colorful outfit (this one way, way more revealing) to grind up on Drake during "What's My Name?"

Wearing his peacock-colored Mardi Gras finest, as promised, Cee Lo had a super funky, weird and cool band made up of Henson puppets for a cosmic run-through of the just barely ready for prime time "Forget You" that was highlighted by some funky R&B vocals from guest Gwyneth Paltrow.

Playing their first Grammys, Muse brought the arena noise with a scaled-down version of their techno-prog anthem "Uprising," complete with their towering video columns and an onstage pantomime featuring Molotov cocktail-toting anarchists in gas masks. They also took home Best Rock Album for their bombastic Resistance, beating out a field of veterans including Neil Young, Jeff Beck, Pearl Jam and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Singer Matt Bellamy made sure to thank his management and his "beautiful pregnant girlfriend," actress Kate Hudson. In an only-at-the-Grammys first, Bruno Mars, B.o.B and Janelle Monáe teamed up, with Mars kicking things off crooning at the piano and B.o.B (sporting a monocle, no less) throwing down his "Nothin' on You" verses over the sounds of a string trio. "Grenade" morphed into an old-school Motown soul jam. Monáe heated things up with the speed funk of "Cold War," which featured her crowd-surfing as Mars bashed away at the drums. In the game of diva one-upsmanship, Katy Perry went small, levitating on a glittery swing for a sedate "Not Like the Movies" while wearing a bejeweled ice-skating uniform and screening her wedding video on the towering train of her dress. She went big again, though, for a valentine-themed pop bop through "Teenage Dream." Never ones to tone it down, just before their big moment, Arcade Fire made their Grammy debut with a strobe-light blitz through "The Suburbs/Month of May" that inexplicably featured some BMX riders with helmet cams riding in circles on the stage. Though he had an amazing year with his Smeezingtons partners, Bruno Mars lost out to Danger Mouse in the Producer of the Year category, where the perpetual music machine was honored for his work with Broken Bells, the Black Keys and Dark Night of the Soul. The White Stripes may have broken up, but their final project, the limited-edition box set of Under the Great White Northern Lights, won for Best Boxed or Limited Edition Package.

Stars didn't disappoint on the red carpet either, from Rihanna's risqué transparent dress to Bieber's white tuxedo, Nicki Minaj's towering Cruella De Vil cotton-candy wig and matching dress and, of course, Gaga in a giant frozen egg. Among the early Grammy winners: Rihanna (Best Dance Recording for "Only Girl [In the World]"), La Roux (Best Electronic/Dance Album), Lady Gaga (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Bad Romance") and Bruno Mars (Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Just the Way You Are"). It was also a big night for the Roots and John Legend, who won three awards for their collabo album Wake Up!, the same amount taken home by Jay-Z. There was also more Grammy love for Green Day, who won the ultimate punk-rock award, Best Music Show Album for the Broadway adaptation of American Idiot. The show also featured performances from country queen Miranda Lambert; an acoustic tour de force with Mumford & Sons, Bob Dylan and the Avett Brothers; Barbra Streisand; four-time Grammy winners Lady Antebellum; and John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban paying tribute to Dolly Parton. Lady Antebellum, John Legend and the Roots, Jay-Z and more take home Grammys.

All the Grammys have been handed out, and in a night of upsets, a few unexpected artists walked away with some glittery statuettes for the mantle. Jazz bassist and singer Esperanza Spalding snagged the Best New Artist trophy, besting chart-toppers like Justin Bieber and Drake, and indie darlings Arcade Fire won the coveted Album of the Year trophy, beating out pop supernovas like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, heavily nominated MC Eminem and country stars Lady Antebellum.

Lady Antebellum have plenty more to celebrate, however, having picked up no less than five awards, including both Song of the Year and Record of the Year. John Legend and the Roots' joint project Wake Up! as well as Jay-Z scored three awards (none were televised), while 10-time and six-time nominees Em and Gaga both walked away with two and three trophies, respectively.

Lady Antebellum Win Song Of The Year Grammy For 'Need You Now'

It's a good thing both Eminem and Cee Lo won Grammys earlier in the night, because when it came time for the first of the "big three" awards handed out on the telecast, they had to keep their seats. The songwriters award, Song of the Year, went to Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," which beat out Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie," Cee Lo's "F--- You" (listed as "The Song Otherwise Known as 'Forget You' "), and tracks by Ray LaMontagne and Miranda Lambert. The swaying ballad by the country trio, who'd already won three awards earlier in the night, performed a tribute to Teddy Pendergrass and enjoyed one of the best-selling albums of 2010, seemed to take the group by surprise when it was announced. There was plenty of high-fiving and a fair amount of hand-on-mouth shock from singer Hillary Scott. Mandolin and guitar player Dave Haywood summed it up when he said, "What an amazing year, we are so blown away," giving props to their management, who they said were behind the anthem that completely turned the group's world upside down. Scott thanked the fans and radio, saying breathlessly, "this past year has completely changed our life, and love you all so much, thank you." The win by Lady Antebellum helped slow down some of the preshow hype about Eminem possibly sweeping the top prizes, although at press time the rapper still had shots at Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now' Gets Grammy Love

Crossover smash is up for Record of the Year at February 13 ceremony.

At the 2010 Grammy Awards, Lady Antebellum took the stage to sing "Need You Now." For many music fans of genres other than country, it was the first time they were exposed to the Nashville trio who would soon be catapulted to crossover success, with "Need You Now" hitting radio stations of all formats.

Lady Antebellum became more than Nashville darlings: They became pop stars. That same night, they also took home the Grammy for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for their song "I Run to You."

A year later, the group finds "Need You Now" as one of the five being considered for Record of the Year, alongside "Nothin' on You" (B.o.B, featuring Bruno Mars), "Love the Way You Lie" (Eminem, featuring Rihanna), "F--- You" (Cee Lo Green) and "Empire State of Mind" (Jay-Z and Alicia Keys).

"We're blown away," guitarist Dave Haywood told MTV News last year about the song's pop success.

Lead vocalist Hillary Scott explained: "You just never know when you write a song and you go into the studio and record it what it's gonna do. And honestly, this song took on a new life when we went into the studio.

"Whenever we heard that this song was getting picked up and played on pop radio, we were completely shocked, but excited because that just means more people are hearing it ... The more people that hear it, the better. It's bringing light to the country music genre, which we are so proud of."

The ballad, about still being in love with an ex, spoke to people of all genres.

"That song has changed our career so dramatically," fellow lead singer Charles Kelley said. "They always say the power of a song ... We never knew that would be the song. Out of all the songs we've written, we were like, 'Oh, wow!' I couldn't believe that was the song.

"When we wrote 'Need You Now,' I don't think we knew what we had on our hands," he added. "You never know where a song can take you."

The group is also up for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, Best Country Song and Best Country Album. The 53rd annual Grammy Awards take place February 13.

2011 Grammy Nominations: Eminem Leads The Pack

At this point, perhaps we can officially declare Eminem's comeback to be complete. He's already got the year's best-selling album (and a pair of the biggest singles), and now, well, he's the most-nominated artist of the 53rd annual Grammy Awards.

On Wednesday night (December 1), Em picked up a staggering 10 Grammy nods, including Song and Record of the Year (for "Love the Way You Lie") and Album of the Year (for Recovery, which is also up for Rap Album of the Year). He also scored noms for Best Rap Solo Performance (for "Not Afraid"), Pop Collaboration With Vocals (for his turn on B.o.B's "Airplanes Part II") and Best Rap Song (for "Lie").

Following (not so) closely behind him is Bruno Mars, who landed seven nominations, followed by Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga, who earned six apiece. B.o.B and John Legend are among the names who will head into the Grammys with five noms.

The 44th annual CMA Awards went down Wednesday night (November 10), and honored the biggest names in country music. The night was an especially good one for engaged couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, who will have to clear off extra mantle space for their new hardware. Shelton won two awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year, while his soon-to-be-wife landed three (the songwriters for her hit single "The House That Built Me" also nabbed an award). Lady Antebellum also took home two awards.
