Full Biography

  1. German percussionist Klaus Dinger formed La Dusseldorf following the breakup of cyber-rock band, Neu!, in 1975. Applying a punk-inspired "less is more" drive to Neu!'s minimalist pop-meets-German experimentalism, La Dusseldorf rose to the heights of Europe's progressive rock scene of the late 1970s. Sales of their three albums -- La Dusseldorf in 1976, Viva in 1978, and Individuellos in 1981 -- totalled more than a million copies. They released a European hit single, "Silver Cloud," in 1976. In the aftermath of La Dusseldorf's disbanding in 1981, Dinger has sporadically surfaced, releasing solo albums -- Neondian in 1985, and Die Engel Des Herrn in 1993. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
