Full Biography

The London-based Klaxons include Jamie Reynolds, James Righton and Simon Taylor as their members. Despite being a rock band at the core, they're heavily influenced by dance music -- especially the late-'80s/early-'90s U.K. rave movement. Reynolds has even dubbed his band "nu-rave" to further emphasize the inspiration. By the time band released their second low-key single, they had nonetheless become a favorite of the NME and wound up signing with Polydor. As the group worked on its first album, the Modular label issued the brief singles compilation Xan Valleys (in late 2006). Myths of the Near Future, the full-length debut, was released in early 2007 in the U.K. and the U.S. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
