Snoop Dogg is showing his R&B side on his latest single, "Sensual Seduction," but what about his rock edge? The West Coast mic maven stopped by the MTV offices recently and said he would like to collaborate with some icons to help him bring out that rarely seen side of his music.

"I want to work with Madonna, Bono or Mick Jagger," he said. "I'm on some rock sh--, man. Snoop Dogg, man! Rappers don't really move me too much. They can't do what I did. I'm trying to get down with something that's outta the box and bigger than me."

The Doggfather isn't too sure what the next single will be from his upcoming album, Ego Trippin', but he has a couple of choices. One of them is "Sets Up," one of two Neptunes-produced tracks he's thinking about putting out as singles.

"Sets up, just throwing your neighborhood up. Everybody like to throw their sets up. Then I did one that's called 'Feet Don't Fail Me Now' with me, Pharrell, Nelly and Charlie Wilson," explained Snoop, who had previously told MTV News, "I'mma do the whole record, me by myself. I don't want no guest rappers, no singer, nothing. Just Snoop Dogg."

"It's about leaving your girl, not leaving your girl," he elaborated recently about "Feet Don't Fail Me Now." "You should never leave your girl. It's a good party record, but it has some real meaning to it.

"I got so many hot songs I can come with," Snoop added. "I'm trying to see what the vibe is. 'Sensual Seduction' is fast, it's party. Do I wanna slow down or keep the pace rolling? It's all about what I wanna do next. I'm thinking about performing as well. So everything I put down is the thoughts of me performing, and the thought of you loving it and appreciating it."

In 2008, Snoop wants to introduce a new clothing line called "Rich and Infamous," a brand of pet-care products and a chain of grocery stores called "Snoopermarkets." There's also a tour for which he promises to perform "Sensual Seduction" on the piano, with a talk-box and backing from a live band.

"I'm getting some ideas in my head," he said about the outing. "It's probably gonna be Snoop Dogg and Teddy Riley. Something to that effect. I wanna bring it real big. He's got so many hits, I've got so many hits. I feel we'll go real big with this new thing we got."

Riley is another producer who is contributing to Snoop's March release. To hear more about his collaborations with Riley, as well as why Snoop and Ice Cube both wouldn't mind being a part of Nas' new LP, check out the latest installment of Mixtape Monday.

Angelina Jolie opens up about expecting a child in an interview with NBC News, scheduled to air Thursday at 7 a.m. on "Today" and Sunday at 7 p.m. on "Dateline." Jolie's sit-down took place in Namibia, where she's currently focused on a new venture — and it's not delivering a baby (Jolie says she her pregnancy is not yet eight months along). The actress/activist is promoting Global Education Week, an effort to ensure that education is available to all of the world's children, millions of whom do not have the opportunity to go to school. The actress, who says she knows the sex of her baby, did answer questions about Brad Pitt during the rare interview, saying, "I don't talk about our, my, relationship in public. But we also don't talk about it at home. You know, it's one of those funny things that like just happens, you live your life and you're a family. But you never actually discuss [it]. ... So that's why I giggle about it. I just don't know how to address that kind of thing." ...

John Legend and John Mayer are among the acts scheduled to perform at the fifth annual Jazz at Lincoln Center Spring Gala benefit at New York's Apollo Theater on June 5. Tracy Chapman, Joe Cocker and Natalie Merchant are also on the bill and Bernie Mac is hosting. ... After announcing a lawsuit against New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday, designer Marc Ecko just released the bill for his second annual Save the Rhinos Benefit Concert, to be held in New York on June 8. Rakim, Common, newcomer Lupe Fiasco and Rhymefest are among those tapped for the event. ...

Dave Matthews Band want to help New Orleans recover, so they're offering a $1.5 million challenge grant to help build the New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village, which would consist of Habitat for Humanity-constructed homes and feature the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music. "After [Hurricane Katrina] first struck, we were shocked by the destruction, and we knew we wanted to help," DMB said in a statement. The grant money comes from a fundraising concert in Denver that also featured the Neville Brothers and the John Butler Trio. "Many people donated their time and resources to keep costs to a minimum so we could maximize the donation," DMB said. "This is our way to get the word out that there is more work to do, and ask people to step up to the challenge and make a donation to help." Contributions, which can be made online at Habitat-NOLA.org, will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the grant, raising the total donation potential to $3 million. ... Shinedown are doing their own part to help rebuild the Crescent City. The Jacksonville, Florida, rock band will take a day off from touring in New Orleans next week to team with Habitat and help rebuild homes. Singer Brent Smith recently wrote "New Orleans" on the front of his shirt for two national television performances of their current single, "I Dare You," as a reminder that work still needs to be done in the city. ...

Mandy Moore is a home-wrecker on the season finale of "The Simpsons," voicing a character named Fiona, the sexy singing wife of a struggling second baseman who seeks marital advice from Homer and Marge. In an episode called "Homer and Marge Turn a Couple Play," airing May 21 at 8 p.m. on Fox, Moore's character seems to be getting back on track with her husband, Buck (voiced by Stacy Keach) — until Buck catches Homer giving Fiona a post-show neck massage, causing both couples to separate. ... Tom Petty's also in for some voiceover action when he returns to "King of the Hill," resuming his role as Lucky in an episode called "Edu-Macating Lucky." On the show's season finale, airing May 14 at 7:30 p.m. on Fox, Lucky gets schoolteacher Peggy to tutor him for his GED, which Peggy hopes will prod him to take a job far away from Luanne — but when she discovers he's planning to propose to Luanne, she purposely teaches him incorrect material. ...

A new Web site — NationalDayofSlayer.org — is calling on all metalheads worth their salt to celebrate the legendary thrashers on June 6. According to the site, "6/6/06 isn't a date that comes around very often ... and while plenty of stupid horror movies and terrible albums will be released for the hype value of the day that bears 'the number of the beast,' [we've] decided that this would be a perfect day for Hessians across the country to come together and engage in something upon which we can all agree — listening to Slayer." The site suggests that Slayer fans honor a National Day of Slayer by listening to the band's albums "at full blast" in their cars, homes, workplaces and in public because "national holidays in America aren't just about celebrating; they're about forcing it upon non-participants." The site also suggests staging a "Slay-out" by staying home from work and listening to Slayer all day. ...

Mick Jagger has signed on for a sitcom pilot for ABC's fall schedule, with a working title of "Let's Rob Mick Jagger." The Rolling Stones singer shot his scenes for the pilot last week in an Auckland, New Zealand, hotel room, although the show would take place in New York. In the series, the janitor for Jagger's building would try to rob his apartment over the course of a 24-episode season. If the pilot is picked up, Jagger would appear occasionally, but not in every episode, as the plot revolves around the would-be thieves. Meanwhile, the Stones deny reports that they refused to give up their reservations at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna, Austria, to accommodate President Bush this June. "Songwriting is interesting because it's done behind the scenes and everybody kind of has their own way of doing it," said Jimmy Jam, who took a break from producing Janet Jackson and Jessica Simpson's new records to attend. "The artists make the songs come alive, but without the songs, the artists don't really have anything. Songwriting is the backbone of music, so this is all about music creation, the music creator and to shine a little spotlight on them, which I think is fantastic." ...

After lending his songwriting skills to rockers like Carlos Santana and Willie Nelson, Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas is finally having the favor returned.

Mick Jagger, who enlisted Thomas to co-write "Visions of Paradise" for his recent solo album, Goddess in the Doorway (see "Mick Jagger Finds 'Joy' With Bono On Solo LP"), has co-written a track with Thomas for the next Matchbox Twenty record and may sing on it.

"We're talking about him coming in to do background vocals," Thomas said last week at Clive Davis' annual Grammy Eve party (click for photos from the event). "But you never know, it's so hard to get things scheduled sometimes."

The track written by the songwriting team is called "I Got a Disease" and will be recorded by Thomas and his Matchbox Twenty bandmates when they return to the studio in July to record their third album.

Matt Serletic, the producer behind 1996's Yourself or Someone Like You and 2000's Mad Season, will again be working with the band, despite his recent agreement to run Virgin Records.

"Matt is one of my best friends, and part of his contract allows for him to record Matchbox Twenty records, so that's very nice," Thomas said.

Although Thomas' bandmates are spread around the country, he said they've been working on material for a few months. "We have a list of like 100 songs," he said. "It comes down to a time when you need to make a little list out of the big list, so we're starting to get into that stage now. You know, 'What do I really like? If I had to pick 12 songs what would they be?' "

Like his Santana hit "Smooth," some of the new material has been inspired by Thomas' wife of two years, Marisol. "Sometimes we'll have a fight, and I have to go write about it," he said with a laugh, followed by an elbow from his wife, who walked the red carpet with her husband.

Nelson, whose January release featured three songs written by Thomas (see "Rob Thomas, Kid Rock Lend A Hand To Willie Nelson"), may also appear on the Matchbox Twenty album. "If he's around [the studio], I'll make him play guitar for sure," Thomas said.

Dave Matthews Band proved nearest and dearest to the hearts of fans, as their votes gave the Virginia group the bulk of the glory at the My VH1 Music Awards Sunday.

Matthews and violinist Boyd Tinsley, accepting on behalf of their bandmates, left Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium with three awards — My Favorite Group, Must Have Album for Everyday and Damn I Wish I Wrote That! (Song of the Year) for "The Space Between." The group was also honored via a win for their fan site nancies.org in the Coolest Fan Website category.

(Click for a complete list of winners and great photos from the show.)

DMB and U2 had a pack-leading six nominations each coming into the second-annual awards show. While the rootsy quintet batted .500, the pride of the Irish, competing in all the same categories, struck out each time (see
"U2, Dave Matthews Lead My VH1 Music Awards").

The video for "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink must have happily gotten fans all hot and bothered, as they bestowed it with the Is It Hot in Here or Is It Just My Video? honor, as well as the title of My Favorite Video.

English songwriting softies Coldplay were the evening's only other multiple winner; they were dubbed Best Kept Secret and won the Big in Japan (International) award.

Lenny Kravitz picked up My Favorite Male Artist honors, while No Doubt's Gwen Stefani was voted My Favorite Female Artist.

All the evening's winners, as well as the categories and nominations that spawned them, were determined by fan votes cast on VH1.com. Voting on the categories began in September, while the final polls remained open until the moment the winners were announced.

The all-fan selection process gives the show its signature, non-traditional categories, such as Navel Academy, for which Britney Spears' belly button took top honors, and Your Song Kicked Ass but Was Played Too Damn Much, a bittersweet designation awarded to Staind's "It's Been Awhile."

Alicia Keys made a great first impression on many with Songs in A Minor, as the soulful siren received the Welcome to the Big Time award. It didn't get any more big time than the cast assembled for the remake of
Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," which included the likes of Fred Durst, Bono, Gwen Stefani and Jermaine Dupri. The song, recorded to benefit the Global AIDS Alliance and the United Way's September 11th Fund (see
"LL Cool J, U2's Edge, More Join 'What's Going On' Project"), was deemed best collaboration with its There's No "I" in Team win.

Christopher Walken was deemed the Best Actor in a Video for his soft-soled role in Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice," while Bon Jovi won for Hottest Live Show.

That group's namesake, Jon Bon Jovi, and his bandmate Richie Sambora opened the ceremony with an acoustic rendition of "Here Comes the Sun" in honor of George Harrison, who died Thursday (see
"'Such A Beautiful Guy': George Harrison Remembered By Bandmates, Peers, Admirers"). Accompanied by two cellists, the duo's homage was bolstered by images of the former Beatles guitarist flashing on the large video monitor behind them.

Creed's fiery performance of "My Sacrifice" took the show outdoors for an enormous production that began with smoke machines and concluded with a Fourth of July finale complete with rockets' red glare. Beneath flaming scaffolding, guitarist Mark Tremonti heroically wielded his riffs while Scott Stapp's ever-personal lyrics bellowed in the night sky during what seemed like a one-song concentrate of the band's entire stadium show.

Two artists did double-time onstage to take part in choice collaborations. Mary J. Blige sang a medley of "Family Affair" and "No More Drama" from her latest album, No More Drama, before joining Sting for his "(If You Love Somebody) Set Them Free." The duet found the pair alternating lines of verse, then freestyling vocals toward the song's uptempo close. After Lenny Kravitz's star-powered offering of "Dig In," he and his band played backup to Mick Jagger on the Rolling Stones singer's "God Gave Me Everything" from his new solo album, Goddess in the Doorway. Kravitz took the reins on the solos before passing them to Mick for a song-closing harmonica jam.

Other performers included No Doubt ("Hey Baby"), Jewel ("Standing Still") and Nelly Furtado ("Turn Off the Light").

"Will and Grace" star Eric McCormack, as the evening's host, drew on embarrassing '80s bands, such as Wang Chung and Loverboy, for the occasional jibe at the Hollywood cast of presenters. He reached his comedic pinnacle early with an opening skit that parodied Elton John's "I Want Love" video.
Supplanting Robert Downey Jr.'s role with a poorly lip-synching McCormack, the spoof showed him walking from his trailer to the stage, stopping along the way to steal a crewmember's donut, baste a turkey and burp a baby.

My VH1 Music Awards 2001 winners list:

Must Have Album - Dave Matthews Band, Everyday

Your Song Kicked Ass but Was Played Too Damn Much – Staind, "It's Been Awhile"

Welcome to the Big Time - Alicia Keys

Before your family dishes out the big bird and all its trimmings this Thanksgiving, many artists will be serving up some musical munchies on television to whet your appetite. And be sure to save room for dessert after the sun goes down, since late-night programs also have some sweet sounds lined up.

Pop, R&B and country are on the menu for the 75th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, with performances by O-Town, Boys II Men, Joey McIntyre and Usher slated to take place atop floats cruising down Central Park West and Broadway in midtown Manhattan, according to a Macy's spokesperson. Tony Bennett, Charlotte Church, Billy Gilman, Kenny G, Jon Secada and LMNT (three O-Town finalists that didn't make the cut) round out the musical lineup for the event, which will be broadcast live on NBC from 9 a.m. to noon.

Country is the predominant genre of CBS's "All-American Thanksgiving Parade," a compilation of highlights from the Macy's parade as well as holiday marches in Nashville and Detroit. Lee Ann Womack and Ray Stevens lead the musical charge in Nashville, while Lee Greenwood tops the roster in Detroit, according to a CBS spokesperson. The special, airing from 9 a.m. to noon, will also visit Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House for performances by Vince Gill and Brad Paisley.

After the parades, Enrique Iglesias will be among the halftime entertainment at the Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers game, which begins at 12:30 p.m. ET The late game, the Dallas Cowboys versus the Denver Broncos, will feature Creed as its halftime fanfare (see "Creed, Enrique Iglesias To Perform At Thanksgiving Games").

If you're still awake after the turkey's sleep-inducing amino acid L-tryptophan takes effect, you can catch U2 on a live broadcast of NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" at 11:35 p.m. ET, according to a network spokesperson. The program will be broadcast to U.S. servicemen and women stationed in 175 countries and aboard 150 Navy ships via the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service.

U2 will also be the subject of a CNN profile during the cable channel's "People in the News" program, which is scheduled to air at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger will provide lip service to the "Good Morning America" crew on ABC at 7 a.m., more than a half-day away from "Being Mick," a one-hour special on the classic rocker that airs on the same network at 10 p.m. and features interviews with Wyclef Jean, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Pete Townshend, U2 and the Who, an ABC spokesperson said (see "Rolling Stones To Roll Out 40th Anniversary Tour").

Later in evening, Ben Folds will appear on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" at 12:35 a.m., while Leona Naess visits "The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn" at 12:37 a.m.
