Staying true to her roots, Paris Hilton is speaking to party girls everywhere in the new Manufactured Superstars single "Drunk Text."

"Drunk Text" dropped with an accompanying video Thursday (February 23), featuring an electro-house beat under the socialite's spoken word. As for the lyrics, Paris narrates a modern clubgoer's inner-monologue, highlighting key partying moments like dancing, taking shots and, you guessed it, drunk texting.

The most attention-grabbing element of the video is Hilton herself. Focusing mostly on her red-lipstick-stained mouth speaking the words to the song, the camera also occasionally pans to the songstress relaxing in various locations throughout the club in a stunning-yet-suggestive black dress. This is a major transition from her bikini-clad "Stars Are Blind" music video, channeling a chic and erotic energy for the more risqué track.

You might have forgotten Hilton's short-lived musical career that virtually began and ended with the single "Stars Are Blind" back in 2006, but this new track is a bit more memorable — and, Paris hopes, the beginning of her new-and-improved musical style. After the heiress dabbled in bubblegum pop, she is transitioning into electronic dance music for her upcoming project.

We recently caught up with Hilton to discuss her upcoming album, and she confirmed that rumored boyfriend Afrojack is helming the project. "It's completely different from my last album. I'm going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we've just been coming up with the most incredible tracks," she teased. "I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we're going to be doing my new single with LMFAO."

Paris Hilton Tackling 'Whole New Genre' On Next Album

Hilton is working with Afrojack and childhood friends LMFAO for her sophomore record.

Paris Hilton famously declared that "Stars are Blind" on her 2006 single. Now, she's hoping to recapture some of that musical magic on the follow-up to her self-titled debut.

She's hooking up with club-music producer extraordinaire Afrojack for the record and is knee-deep in getting it done. "I've been in the studio all day recording my new album," she told MTV News at the Weinstein Golden Globes afterparty. And if fans think she'll be channeling some sugary sweet pop on this next release, they'd better think again.

"It's completely different from my last album. I'm going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we've just been coming up with the most incredible tracks," she teased. "I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we're going to be doing my new single with LMFAO."

Given how ubiquitous LMFAO is these days, a Paris/LMFAO track could be the perfect combination to reintroduce the world to Paris Hilton, pop star. "I'm so excited. The music's turning out so great and I can't wait to release it this summer. Two nights ago [I recorded the song with LMFAO]," she said, describing the session as "awesome." "I've known them since I was a little girl. We grew up together 'cause our parents are friends, so I'm just so proud of them and all their success and what they've done 'cause they've just created this whole 'Party Rock' brand and it's just so awesome."

Noting that she grew up singing in the choir and can also play violin, piano and guitar, Paris defends her choice to record another album. "I think a lot of people don't know that music is my passion since I was a little girl," she said. "I'm very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance. ... The single's done; it's in the can. That's probably going to be out [within] the next month or two."

Hilton isn't just singing for her new record — she'll also be trying her hand at singing on the big screen when she works with "Repo! The Genetic Opera" director Darren Bousman on his next project. "I'm about to do a film with my friend Darren Bousman. He has a new musical that's coming up called 'The Devil's Carnival,' " she said. "It's about Hell, it's a musical and it's different."

Paris Hilton Recalls Her Great Escape On 'When I Was 17'

The hotel heiress had to sneak out of the Waldorf-Astoria to elude curfew.

Like many teenagers, Paris Hilton felt like "nothing in this world" could stop her rebellious 17-year-old self from having a good time. In this week's episode of MTV's "When I Was 17," airing this Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT, the hotel heiress recalls the lengths to which she went to get out of curfew.

"When I was 17, I was living in New York City at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel," she explained. "My parents were very strict. So a lot of the times, what I would do is actually sneak out at night."

Usually when sneaking out, all most kids have to worry about is successfully climbing out of their bedroom window, but Paris had to have a very different escape plan. The young socialite wasn't too worried about dodging paparazzi just yet but keeping herself out of a different lens' view.

"So basically one day I went through the whole hotel and figured out the best route where the [security] cameras wouldn't spot me," she said. "I would literally run down, maybe, fifteen flights of stairs, through the fire exit."

Her friend Allison told the show about the second part of Hilton's deception: "She would put pillows in her bed and cover them with her comforter."

Paris added, "And then I'd put a blonde wig, with the hair coming out. This actually worked for a few months. My mom had no idea. Then one night for some reason she needed to talk to me and came in the room and lifted [the comforter] up and ..." Busted!

Paris may have once sang that "the stars are blind," but Mama Hilton certainly wasn't.

"When I Was 17" — this week featuring Paris Hilton, Steve-O and Miguel — airs on Saturday at 11 a.m ET/PT on MTV.

Lil Wayne, Paris Hilton Bond Over Jail Time In Interview

The rapper and the heiress also discuss astrology, animals and, of course, music in the April issue of the magazine.

In the April issue of Interview magazine, Lil Wayne and Paris Hilton bond over their love of animals, music and Miami hotspots ... and, of course, their time behind bars, too.

In a cross-country phone call — Wayne was at home in Miami while Hilton was taking a break from shooting a reality series in Los Angeles — the pair discussed a variety of topics (Googling themselves, the paparazzi, astrology, etc.,), but really broke the ice when the conversation turned to their respective jail sentences. Wayne did eight months at New York's Rikers Island after a gun-possession arrest, while Hilton famously served 23 days in 2007 following a parole violation.

"For me, it was OK, because it just meant that I was alone in my thoughts," Wayne said when asked about the portion of his sentence he served in solitary confinement, after being caught with an MP3 player. "There were times when it was pretty tough to be by yourself, and to have no television, no nothing. That was kind of tough."

"I had to do 24 nights in solitary," Hilton added [during her sentence, she was held in a separate cell as a safety precaution].

"Oh, so you know how it is?" Wayne responded.

"Yeah, I know how it is," Hilton said.

The discussion then turned to being released from prison — an experience Wayne said "words cannot explain," and one Hilton called "the best feeling in the world" — and how that newfound freedom affects the individual.

"You're definitely more in tune to what you're doing. You're definitely more humble," Wayne explained. "I think that most people who come out of that situation just want to make the most of life afterwards. Honestly, it was just one big humbling experience."

And in keeping with that life-affirming sentiment — following some in-depth talk about travel and zodiac signs and Weezy's pet sharks — both Wayne and Hilton discussed what's next for them: Hilton said she'd "really love" to finish her long-in-the-works second album, while Wayne ... well, he has more tangible goals.

"I want to bank a cool $50 million at least," he said. "At the end of the year, I want to be able to say that I banked $50 million. Not generated $50 million, but actually banked $50 million."

Cy Waits could get four years in prison as a result of August incident with Hilton in Las Vegas.

Paris Hilton was able to skate on her recent drug charges, but it doesn't look like the globe-hopping socialite's boyfriend will be so lucky.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that former nightclub impresario Cy Waits is facing three criminal charges in connection with the couple's arrest on the Las Vegas Strip in August. At the time, Waits was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana and Hilton was taken in for cocaine possession.

Hilton eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanors and was sentenced to a year of probation, but now the hammer could come down on Waits.

Prosecutors filed a criminal complaint on Thursday in which they revealed plans to charge Waits, 35, with three counts in the incident, including a felony charge of driving under the influence of marijuana and two misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of a controlled substance (also marijuana). Waits already lost his gig running nightclubs for hotelier Steve Wynn as a result of the incident.

According to the arrest report, after Waits' Escalade was pulled over around 11:30 on the night of August 27 in front of the Wynn Las Vegas, he failed several impairment tests, including swaying while trying to balance, using his arms to balance and not being able to stand on one leg without putting his foot down. In addition, the report stated that he had bloodshot eyes and his breath smelled of alcohol.

In his report, arresting officer Michael Polion wrote, "I could smell marijuana coming out of the vehicle, pulled up to passenger side and driver stated he just got done smoking." Once police searched the car, they found a "roach," which was described as "wet + unable to be tested." Officers also found a package of Zig-Zag-brand rolling papers in Hilton's possession. The hotel heiress was also arrested after a small bindle of cocaine fell out of her purse while she was speaking to another officer. Hilton pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors in September.

Waits' lawyer has questioned why the vehicle was pulled over, since the officer did not report any traffic infraction or observe any signs that Waits was impaired before the stop.

If convicted on the felony charge, Waits could get four years in prison and mandatory probation. His arraignment is set for February 17.

Paris Hilton Ex Doug Reinhardt Denies Sex Tape

Rep tells TMZ rumored tape 'doesn't exist and never existed.'

With 2010 wrapping up, it appears Paris Hilton will end the year with just a little bit of controversy. Despite swirling online rumors that the socialite and her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt filmed a sex tape, a rep for the former "Hills" star insisted it's just not true.

Speaking with TMZ, Reinhardt's rep Amanda Ruisi said, "Doug says a sex tape with Paris and him doesn't exist and never existed."

Reinhardt and Hilton began dating in early 2009 and had even contemplated marriage during their six-month relationship. In an interview with People magazine, the blonde bombshell appeared happy with her then-boyfriend.

"He makes me feel like I've never felt before," she told the mag. "Everything he does is romantic. He's amazing, and we're really happy. He's beautiful, he's smart, he's well-educated, and he treats me like a princess. We're just very much alike."

In June of '09, the couple called it quits. And while the duo reunited for multiple reconciliations, they eventually ended things for good. Rumors later surfaced that Hilton believed the "Hills" star was using her for her celebrity status.

The alleged sex tape isn't the only ordeal the 29-year-old heiress has faced in the past year. In July, Hilton was detained in South Africa during the World Cup on suspicion of marijuana possession. Just a month later, the reality-TV starlet was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of cocaine possession.

Hilton, who is celebrating the holidays with family in Hawaii, has yet to speak publicly about the rumored sex tape.

Paris Hilton Settles Lawsuit With Hallmark

Heiress reportedly walks away from 2007 suit with an undisclosed amount of money.

Another week and another legal trial for Paris Hilton, but this time it's in her favor. The 29-year-old socialite has settled a lawsuit with Hallmark over a greeting card that made use of the heiress' image and the catchphrase "that's hot."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, attorneys for Hilton and Hallmark have reached a settlement and notified a California judge as of last week. Further details haven't been disclosed, but it is reported that the blond bombshell has walked away from the 2007 lawsuit with an undisclosed amount of money.

Hallmark spokeswoman Julie O'Dell originally defended the company against the accusation, saying, "These cards take a satirical look at news and gossip surrounding these public figures, including Paris Hilton, and we do not believe Hallmark has violated any of Ms. Hilton's rights."

Last year, a federal appeals court ruled against the company, refuting their parody claim, and both parties were set to duke it out in court in December.

With its "Paris's First Day as a Waitress" caption, the greeting card is seemingly based on her fish-out-of-water reality show "The Simple Life." The star's face is plastered on a cartoon waitress figure as she serves a meal to a customer that says, "Don't touch that, it's hot." "What's hot?" "That's hot."

Hilton's Hallmark settlement is just another mark in her slew of recent legal tribulations. Just last week, the hotel heiress was denied entrance into Japan following a guilty plea in her Las Vegas cocaine case.

Officials determine Hilton's Vegas drug conviction violates immigration laws.

Paris Hilton's music career has stalled out at this point, but the socialite can now claim to be in the same class as such pop icons as Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones after Japanese officials denied her entry into the country on Wednesday (September 22).

Hilton flew to Japan following her guilty plea on Monday in Las Vegas to misdemeanor drug possession charges, but the hotel heiress got only as far as the airport in Narita, where officials held her for six hours of questioning before telling the 29-year-old that she was not allowed to enter the country.

According to The Associated Press, Hilton was forced to cancel her Asia press tour in support of her clothing line and return home on Wednesday because Japanese officials decided that her recent drug conviction violated strict Japanese immigration laws that deny entry to some visitors convicted of drug offenses.

"I'm going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future," Hilton, smiling, told reporters before boarding her private jet for the flight back home. The about-face meant Hilton would not be able to appear at a Wednesday news conference in Tokyo to promote her fashion and fragrance lines. She also canceled appearances in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Jakarta, Indonesia, which were planned before her August 27 arrest in Las Vegas.

After spending more than six hours over two days being grilled by immigration officials at the airport hotel, a weary Hilton said she would give it a try some other time. "I'm really tired," she said.

Her spokesperson said in a statement, "Paris is very disappointed and fought hard to keep her business commitments and see her fans, but she is forced to postpone her commitments in Asia. ... Paris understands and respects the rules and laws of the immigration authorities in Japan and fully wishes to cooperate with them."

The hotel heiress was arrested on August 27 in Las Vegas after the SUV she was riding in was pulled over and police found 0.8 grams of cocaine in her purse. Hilton pleaded guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer in a deal that will save her from serving a one-year term in jail. In return, she has to pay $2,000 in fines, complete 200 hours of community service and complete what is being described as an "intensive" substance abuse program. She was also given a one-year suspended sentence in the case, which means that if she is arrested for anything besides a minor traffic violation in Vegas in the next year, she will have to serve the full one-year term. Hilton will also be on probation for one year.

The terms did not, however, restrict her travel overseas.

An immigration official at the airport said that Hilton might actually have been able to pass the border if she had applied for an entry permit earlier, instead of trying to do so the day after pleading guilty in Las Vegas.

Though Japan takes a tough stance on drug offenses, the bans do not always last and can sometimes be overcome. Soccer icon Diego Maradona was barred from entering the country in 2002 during the World Cup finals due to his multiple past drug arrests but was eventually given a 30-day visa as a "special delegate." Even though several members had drug issues in their past, the Rolling Stones were also allowed into the country after years of struggles at the border. Former Beatles member Paul McCartney was arrested and deported in 1980 for marijuana possession when he was caught with the drug at the Narita airport.

Paris Hilton Pleads Guilty In Las Vegas Cocaine Case

Whether or not it was her purse or her cocaine, Paris Hilton pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors on Monday morning (September 20) in Las Vegas in connection with her arrest last month on drug possession charges.

According to TMZ, Hilton pleaded guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer in a deal that will save her from serving a one-year term in jail. In return, she has to pay $2,000 in fines, complete 200 hours of community service and complete what is being described as an "intensive" substance abuse program.

The site reported that the judge gave Hilton a one-year suspended sentence in the case, which means that if she is arrested for anything besides a minor traffic violation in Vegas in the next year, she will have to serve the full one-year term. Hilton will also be on probation for one year.

In a tweak to the Hilton family's business legend, the judge warned the party-loving globe-trotter, "The Clark Country Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria."

Paris Hilton is finally getting over her rough night in Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the heiress will avoid jail time in her felony cocaine possession case with a plea agreement. Hilton is expected to plead guilty to misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor obstructing an officer on Monday. The plea deal will land the socialite a year of probation.

Hilton was arrested on August 27 in Las Vegas after the SUV she was riding in was pulled over and police found 0.8 grams of cocaine in her purse. She later claimed the purse didn't belong to her and blasted rumors surrounding her case.

Under the conditions of the plea agreement obtained by the Review-Journal, Hilton will face a year in jail if she is arrested during her probation for anything besides a minor traffic violation. The heiress is also required to pay a $2,000 fine, complete a substance abuse program and carry out 200 hours of community service.

"There are very strict limits on her future conduct. We will not have to litigate whether she was convicted of the charge or whether the charge was a major or minor offense," Clark County District Attorney David Roger said, referencing the consequences if Hilton steps out of line again.

"Ms. Hilton understands the seriousness of the situation and appreciates the chance she is being given," the socialite's lawyer David Chesnoff told The Associated Press. "She has to stay out of trouble."

The plea deal caps off a summer of legal drama for the heiress. Hilton was detained in South Africa in July at the World Cup for suspected possession of marijuana but didn't face charges when another member of her posse was found to be smoking.
