The Game may be open to reconciling with 50 Cent and the G-Unit, but when it comes to Jay-Z, it doesn't seem like there is any love for one of his great rap influences.

On Thursday at his tour opener in Las Vegas, Jay kicked an a cappella line where he mentioned some of his past foes, as well as former friends.

"I ain't talking about gossip/ I ain't talking about Game," Hov rapped. "I ain't talking about Jimmy/ I ain't talking about Dame ... Dame made millions/ Even Jaz made some scraps/ He could've made more, but he ain't sign his contract."

Jim Jones and Game responded on the Fourth of July via their Twitter accounts.

"Question: if someone says in the song 'I'm not talkin' bout Jimmy,' is that not talkin' bout Jimmy? LOL," Jones tweeted. "We are back in business, people."

"Aight so, after about 10,000 responses ... The results read that he ain't dissin me," Game tweeted. "And as bad as I want to respond to his old a--, he can slide."

However, apparently Game changed his mind. In video footage that has been posted online, Game is seen calling out Hov onstage at a concert in France.

"We ain't come to play no games today," Game rapped. "We in Bordeaux, France ... F--- Jay-Z, if you don't like that, you can find an exit somewhere."

Game then leads the crowd in an obscene chant against Hov.

Game has both given props to and dissed Jay publicly many times before. Hov has never officially responded to him in song, although many inferred that several lines in the original "Dear Summer" freestyle Jay spit several years ago on Funk Master Flex's radio show ("You saying my name to entertain your crew/ I ain't playing no games, sh--, the game's through ... You playing a game you know you can't win/ Quit playing them childish games with grown men") were directed at the Compton MC.

The Overdose: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive

Your boys are back at it. Hiatus is done. Today we had to put Firestarter on the back burner to bring you this testimonial from none other than the Game. Big Hurricane sat down with us in the lab where he's recording his R.E.D. Album. And, in addition to speaking about the project, he wanted to tell us and the entire world that there's no more 50 Cent beef. He's said it before, no doubt, but this time the Compton rhyme beast says he's dead serious — unless he changes his mind. Game compared his beef with Fif and the G-Unit to an airplane. (Is that private or commercial? Just kidding.)

"I just got off that plane," Game said of the well-documented rift. "I didn't even get my baggage out the baggage claim."

The MC says he wants to "apologize to 50 as a man." He also wants to apologize to the fans, Dr. Dre, Eminem and the head of Interscope, Jimmy Iovine.

"Jimmy always says, 'Man, I told you guys not to break up the Beatles,' " Game said. "He says he told John Lennon the same thing a long time ago. But I was young, man. I was dumb. I did a lot of dumb things. I felt me and 50 clashed. I'm not gonna dis 50. I'm not gonna go back on the plane. He had his side, I had my side. I did what I felt was necessary for me and my career to have longevity and survive in hip-hop and music to be around when I'm Quincy Jones' age — not just be Quincy Jones' age, but be a Quincy Jones. Now, four albums in, I can honestly say from Banks to Buck to Dre to Yayo to whoever, if it would have kept going, endless paper. Millions of albums sold — because we were great together. Me and 50's chemistry was like how Method Man was to Redman when they get in. You know when Method Man gets with Redman, it's going down."

True, the Unit, when they were a five-man squad (that's with Game and Buck), were absolutely unstoppable. We're still rocking that All Eyez on Us G-Unit Radio Part 5 mixtape.

"It is what KRS-One was with Scott La Rock," Game added, describing his time with 50. "When you take Ralph Tresvant from New Edition and Bobby Brown goes this way, you might get a Bell Biv DeVoe, but you won't get no 'Candy Girl.' You won't get no 'Mr. Telephone Man.' You ain't gonna get no 'Hate It or Love It,' you won't get 'How We Do.' As a family, we had it. If we never [broke] up, I think Detox would have been out and we all would have been selling millions from Banks to Buck, Tony Yayo. I'm gonna apologize for my role."

Just a few weeks ago, 50 told us he has no desire to entertain the Game. Maybe Dre or Iovine can get these guys together again?

The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground

50 Cent says he wants to bring hardcore rap back to the forefront, and we know the sentiments Jay-Z expressed in "D.O.A." Killer Mike says he's not impressed. He's been keeping it street.

"I don't wanna hear none of that bullsh-- from none of the n---as," Mike said. "I dropped I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II last year. If you wanna hear hardcore hip-hop, go to the store, go get I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II. You can listen from the first Biggie sample to the last song on the album, 'Good-Bye,' it's hardcore hip-hop. I don't wanna hear that bullsh--, these n---as who got millions of dollars talking about bringing sh-- back. They ain't bringing sh-- back. It's here — you looking at it.

"Buy me," he continued. "When that Killer Mike drops, hardcore hip-hop will be back for the second, third time. You know, the same guy that said 'rap is dead' three years before Nas said it. I'm here. F--- with me. Jay dropped 'D.O.A.' and everybody went crazy. And I love Jay. A week before that, I dropped 'Man Up.' Go listen to that song and go listen to 'D.O.A.' "

Killer Kill, who recently struck a partnership with T.I. and Grand Hustle Entertainment, is dropping a compilation of all the ATL underground MCs this summer.

The Game wasted no time in paying tribute to Michael Jackson. The Compton lyric master spearheaded an all-star tribute song, recorded it and released it within 10 hours. And less than a week after dropping the record, Game put out a video for the song. On Tuesday (June 30), the clip for "Better on the Other Side" dropped to the Internet.

As the clip starts, we hear the voice of Diddy (who isn't shown in the video) and see a fan holding a poster that reads "R.I.P. Michael Jackson." From there we see more images of fans, some mourning M.J., some celebrating him by doing his dances and dressing like the late King of Pop. Game begins rapping while lying in a bathtub, fully clothed and drinking as the water runs. Chris Brown is shown moments after that, bobbing his head to the beat.

The video then goes back and forth between the recording sessions for the song and the vigils of fans. Game is shown in the studio with Brown, then we see Boyz II Men's Wanya Morris recording and singing his part on the record.

"Why'd you have to go, go/ I know it's better on the other side," Brown sings.

We then see Game writing his rhyme for the record and, later, getting a new tattoo on his right arm. As the video ends, Game stands up in the bathtub, takes off his shirt and reveals his new Michael Jackson tattoo. It's a picture of Jackson wearing a fedora and a mask on his face.

(Read about the Game's recollection of the time Jackson called him in an attempt to resolve his beef with 50 Cent.)

"With Michael Jackson, you can't even [record] one song," Game said Saturday night at a party Diddy threw in Los Angeles. "Michael Jackson, he's the legend. I think the most tears were shed around the world for his death, and the only person above him who people cried for like that when they died was Jesus. So, that lets you know the stature of Michael Jackson, his life and his career. I love him and we miss him."

"We Are the World" and "Heal the World" were undoubtedly two of Michael Jackson's greatest songwriting and humanitarian achievements. But if MJ had been able to cool off the tension between 50 Cent and the Game, as the California rapper claims he attempted to a few years back, then Jackson could have won the Nobel Peace prize. He certainly would have earned it.

Game told MTV News that during his beef with 50, which began in 2005, Jackson actually called the Compton MC and offered to play peacekeeper between the two former friends.

"I was on tour in Canada, sitting in my room, cutting my hair," Game told MTV News, recalling Jackson's phone call. "I was messing my hair up. Then my road manager knocks on my door. Boom, boom, boom. He told me, I got MJ on the phone. I ran and snatched up the phone."

On the other end of the line was a British gentleman who connected the two musicians. A nervous Game said Jackson started the conversation by talking about music and complimenting him on his records like "Hate It or Love It" and "How We Do." Then the King of Pop asked about the rapper's children. But before the phone call ended, Jackson touched on one last topic, a sensitive matter at the time.

"He got to this one thing that makes me laugh, man." Game explained. "He said, 'I don't know how you're gonna feel about this, but I want to ask you something. I don't want you to judge me, but I don't really know everything that's going on between you and 50. But I want to be the middleman behind you putting this situation to bed.' "

Jackson wanted the two to meet, with him serving as a mediator, according to Game. The rapper mentioned Jackson's outreach in his new song, "Better on the Other Side," a tribute to the late King of Pop that features Chris Brown, Diddy, Boyz II Men and Mario Winans. A video for the track, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the record, is set to premiere online on Tuesday (June 30), Game said. On Friday, 50 Cent also released two Michael Jackson tribute tracks, "Respect It or Check It N---a" and "Where You Are."

Although 50 and Game eventually put their differences aside, Jackson wasn't involved. Game said MJ wanted all three of the artists to collaborate on a song together. But, unfortunately, nothing ever came about.

"It just never manifested," Game said.

Michael Jackson's impact on the pop-culture world was so powerful, several celebrities are already reacting to his death, not just with statements, but with songs. On Friday morning (June 26), 50 Cent dropped two songs paying tribute to the King of Pop. And on Thursday night, just after learning of MJ's passing, the Game orchestrated a symphony of performers to give thanks and reflect on Jackson.

Game's tribute track dedicated to Michael Jackson called "Better on the Other Side," debuted this morning on Los Angeles radio station Power 106. To assist on the track the rapper phoned in a few homies, including Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men.

The piano-accompanied soundscape starts off with Diddy testifying about M.J.'s influence. "I believed I can do anything," he says. "You made the world dance. You made the music come to life."

Then a thunderous bass drops in, led by Chris Brown's vocals on the chorus: "This the type of song that makes the angels cry/ Look up in the sky and I wonder why/ Why you had to go, go/ I know it's better on the other side."

The DJ Khalil-produced track made its debut on the morning radio show "Big Boy's Neighborhood" as well as on Game affiliate DJ Skee's satellite radio show, "Skeetox."

"I told Game yesterday that Michael Jackson died, and he didn't believe me. He said, 'I'll call you right back,' " Skee told MTV News. "Then this morning, he hit me with this track, and I immediately started blasting it out. Game was in the studio with Diddy at the time I called. He reached out to Chris Brown and Usher and also got Boyz II Men, who so happened to be recording in the same studio."

On his verses Game reflects on the pop singer's influence on him growing up. "Who's Michael Jackson?/ You're Michael Jackson/ I'm Michael Jackson/ We all Michael Jackson/ I guess what I'm asking is/ Everybody bow their head/ For a legend, don't breathe for a second."

The Game continues with his heartfelt tribute and compares himself to Jackson. "Imma tell you my story/ Never had a family that close/ Never seen Berry Gordy walking through Interscope/ But just like me, they always had Mike in a scope/ No matter what you say imma love him and he's still dope/ Let me take you back to '85 when I was in a zone/ Dancing for my momma, 'Thriller' jacket with the zippers on."

"Other Side" concludes with one last statement from Diddy: "People can say what they want about you. We gonna remember the miracles that you showed us. Through your music, through your dance. You were the one that made us realize that you are the world. Through us your legacy lives on, Mike Jackson."

MTV will be paying tribute to MJ throughout the weekend with music videos, exclusive performances and calls and tweets from celebrity admirers and friends.

If you thought Lil Jon made a statement with his Crunk Ain't Dead chain, if you thought DJ Drama was stamping himself with his Barack O'Drama chain and if you thought Gucci Mane was downright gaudy with his multitude of iced-out neck pieces over the years, wait until you see T-Pain's Big Ass Chain. Pain debuted his new jewels on Sunday at the Summer Jam concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey. When we say "Big Ass Chain," we mean it literally — he spells it out in diamonds.

We love Bow Wow, but we gotta be real: The Game utterly destroyed him last September when the two ended weeks of back-and-forth of Internet trash-talking and faced off in a game of "John Madden" — in front of a live crowd. The Game's team of the Patriots destroyed B-Dub's squad of choice 55-23.

During the matchup, Jermaine Dupri came to the showdown to help cheer and coach Bow, but to no avail.

"I'm the sh--, man!" Game declared after the game. "I don't know what else to say. Shout-out to Jermaine Dupri for coming to pick up his little pup. ... John Madden, I love you, man."

Well it looks like JD may soon have the chance to avenge his fallen homie: The Game says he wants to get Dupri on the battlefield in a sports game of his choice.

"They be running from me, man," Game complained about some his celebrity friends who haven't stepped up to play him in sports videogames. "[Dwayne] D. Wade, Twista, Jadakiss, Bow Wow. Them n---as be running from me. All the video game heads. JD, I don't know, he don't want it. They just be running. But they know what's up with me!"

MTV News reached out to Jermaine this afternoon to see if he would accept Game's challenge, and the ATL hitmaker was all too willing to compete.

"You can't be serious?" JD said in a statement meant for Game. "You can meet me online. I'm there every other night: NBA2K baby! If you are serious, hit me up and I will give you my gamer tag."

Seems like it is on! The Game wanted us to leave his Gamer tag as well for any entertainers of regular folk who want it with him.

" 'G-A-M-E' is my tag and the other one is 'S-O-O-W-O-O'" he said. "Let them n---as know — that's me online."

Away from games, The Compton MC is working on his new LP, the R.E.D. Album as well as a slew of mixtapes. Jermaine Dupri has put together a clique called Oceans 7 which includes Nelly, Usher and Trey Songz. The collective are putting out a mixtape on Dupri's new Web site, www.global14.com.

The Game's new LP, The R.E.D. Album, was not inspired by him being a Blood. It's not a clever play on words or some type of tip of the fitted cap to Jay-Z's Black Album. Nah, the Compton native's CD is all about him restarting his engine.

"The R.E.D. Album, people think the R.E.D. stands for gangbanging. I am what I am. ... R.E.D. — that's rededicated. Rededicated to hip-hop ... to my 'hood, Compton. Rededicated to my family, rededicated to everything."

And yes, that rededication means the end of Game's retirement talk. He says the album will be out in '09, and he's already been in the studio with Timbaland, J.R. Rotem, Drumma Boy and former Aftermath producer Mike Lynn. Cool and Dre are scheduled to come in on the album, and Game also hopes to track Kanye West down for beats.

"The R.E.D. Album is about to be serious, man," he promised. "It's a step up. The R.E.D. Album, it's a little soulful, I gotta say. Still gangsta — we getting it in. I'm keeping everything on wraps right now.

"This album ... it's gonna be different," he added. "I was wondering to myself how I'm gonna elevate myself and even change the field. Three albums ... what do you talk about after three albums? I ain't selling crack and gangbanging and shooting sh-- up. My beefs have been down-low. So what do you really talk about? I just wanna rap, man. I just wanna do music. Whatever it turns out to be, it turns out to be. Long as every song has that collective feel — they gel — then we good. I'm just gonna rap this time."

Game Predicts Kobe Bryant-Vs.-LeBron James NBA Finals

MC hopes Boston doesn't make it to the end: 'I really hate the Celtics because of what they did to my Lakers.'
By Shaheem Reid

Do you know which team the Game really hates? Nope, not the G-Unit. He can't stand the green machine from Boston: the Celtics. Game, one of the Los Angeles Lakers' biggest fans, is still holding a grudge against Kevin Garnett and company after they beat the Lake Show last year in the NBA Finals.

"I think Boston is gonna pull that off," Game admitted. "And let me tell you: I hate the Celtics. I really hate the Celtics because of what they did to my Lakers. The Lakers and the Celtics, they got a rivalry that stems back to Magic and Bird. I think I always hated the Celtics. I know 'hate' is a strong word — that's why I picked that one for the Celtics."

Even with his sour feelings, Game is realistic. On Tuesday afternoon, he predicted the Celts would go on and win their second-round series against the Orlando Magic.

"I don't think Orlando is strong enough to get past them cats, even without KG," Game added. Garnett is injured and hasn't been able to play in the NBA postseason. "Paul Pierce, veteran. Ray Allen, you see what he did to the Bulls. They always find a way to squeeze it out. They went to game seven last year with the Atlanta Hawks and squeezed it out. Boston, they that team. Even without K, they still solid. They're crazy with it."

No matter who wins between the Magic and Celtics, Game expects LeBron James and the waiting Cleveland Cavilers to hand down a swift butt-kicking: "Cleveland might sweep Orlando. They'll definitely sweep the Celtics."

When it comes to the remaining Western Conference matchups, Game said the Lakers, who are up three games to two over the Houston Rockets, better close things out against their scrappy opponents.

"If the Lakers lose this series or the next series, everybody is gonna instantly say LeBron is better than Kobe," Game said. "For Kobe's sake, he better not lose no more games in the playoffs. Kobe is better than LeBron. LeBron even said it on ESPN: Kobe is the coldest."

When it comes to the Denver Nuggets' series against the Dallas Mavericks, Game has his bet on the Mile High City's squad. "Denver, I call them the Halloween team — they're scary," the Compton MC said. "Where did they come from? They had that team for a minute — Carmelo [Anthony], Kenyon Martin, Nenê — they wasn't even a factor. They was getting blown out."

That's before the big trade earlier this season of Allen Iverson going to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups. Billups turned into Denver's leader and has the team playing with fire.

"Chauncey is the man," Game said. "He was dicing [Jason] Kidd [the other night]. I would rather see the Mavericks [against the Lakers]. Denver is scary, man."

Game's money is on the Lakers vs. the Cavs in the Finals, with his hometown team winning it all.

We couldn't go too many more Mixtape Daily installments without the Game checking in. We had a chance to chop it up with the Hurricane, after a record with him and Rick Ross hit the Net. Also, millionaire hooper Andre Iguodala is a big fan of our "Hottest MCs" show and said we better mention a certain New Jersey lyricist on there.

Andre Iguodala, damn. We thought you would be rocking in the NBA Playoffs a little longer than this, but you always do your thing, son. The Philadelphia 76ers All-Star keeps hip-hop blasting in the locker room. Joe Budden's Mood Muzik II and III are two of his all-time favorites.

Don't you just love going daily? That's us being rhetorical. We already know. We know there are some questions you want answered that you don't feel like waiting a whole week for. The 1515 Boys got y'all. So earlier this week, a track leaked to the Net featuring the Game and Rick Ross. It was labeled "Cigar Music 2" by the blogs and was said to include a Nas verse in the future. One-third of the would-be collaboration, the Game, talked to Mixtape Daily about the leak earlier this week.

" 'Cigar Music 2?' " a surprised Game asked. He hadn't heard that the unfinished song had leaked and definitely was unaware of the reported title. "That's crazy. Nah. I don't even know. ... That joint was for something else. I don't even think Nas is on it. I think we was trying to get Nas on it. But it leaked?"

Game did confirm that he and Ross have been collaborating \and even have a friendship. "Hey, man, me and Ross [working together], it ain't got nothing to do with me and 50," he said. "I ain't even on 50's head like that no more. You notice when [50] put his little dis song out, he left me out. You notice when 50 talks, he leaves me out of that sh--. I didn't pick no sides in the 50/ Rick Ross beef. I'm about hip-hop these days. Rick Ross is my n---a. 50 used to be my n---a."

Once again, the Compton native said he would be down to sit down and have a conversation with 50, but we all know that probably won't happen.

Game is working on his new LP, The R.E.D. Album, out in L.A., and he's already gotten down with Timbaland and Drumma Boy. The title of the LP signifies his re-dedication to rap (RE-Dedication) and is not trumpeting his Blood affiliation.

A few days ago, Game released an underground track called "Bang Along." "N---as like that, man," he boasted. "I threw that out as a little Frisbee."

There will be a whole slew of Game mixtapes this summer dropping before the official CD later this year.
