  1. One of the most respected producers in Nashville, since arriving in Music City U.S.A. in the early '70s, Garth Fundis has worked with country music's cream of the crop, including Alabama, Don Williams, and Trisha Yearwood. Perhaps one of Fundis' finest moments was reigning in the reckless and self-destructive energy of Keith Whitley. Though the talented performer eventually died of alcohol poisoning, Fundis was able to provide a sanctuary in the studio for Whitley that allowed him to create some of his best work while still in the midst of a chaotic personal life. This type of relationship is not uncommon for Fundis, who is known as a patient and nurturing producer capable of bringing out the best in the artists he chooses to work with. ~ Steve Kurutz, Rovi
