It's getting hot in herre, so lay down all your dough ... and then you too can bump all these new summer releases.

First up, Nelly's Nellyville. The follow-up to Country Grammar finds the St. Lunatic, with the help of producer Jay E, espousing the power of Pimp Juice and imploring us to take off our clothes.

Someone else who must have gotten into the stash of the Juice is Will Smith, who is releasing Born to Reign just one week before his summer blockbuster "Men in Black 2" hits theaters. The album features the hit "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)," which also gets airtime in the movie.

Veracity abounds as Truth Hurts gives us Truthfully Speaking and Cormega offers True Meaning to the mix. Vida Blue, the new project from Phish's Page McConnell, release their self-titled debut album, while rock and roll vets Sonic Youth release Murray Street, their first record in two years.

Perhaps the most puzzling release this week is comedian Steve Harvey's Sign of Things to Come, a collection of his favorite hip-hop and R&B songs which brings a whole new meaning to "Rub the stump."

British break-beat purveyors the Freestylers are currently dropping a bomb on the buzz bin with their new single, "Here We Go," the video for which features the band dodging cars in a post-apocalyptic roller derby.
With a lineup that includes a pair of DJs, several live musicians, multiple MCs, and a squad of old-school breakdancers, the Freestylers drew raves for their over-the-top stage production while opening a few U.S. dates for the Lo Fidelity Allstars last month.
A few days before the band delivered a raucous set at this year's KROQ Weenie Roast in L.A., MTV News caught up with the band and talked about the importance of its live shows for both the group's members and its fans.
"To actually see someone go up on stage with a guitar and a drumkit and a vocalist, that's what people understand, from the age of two to the age of 92," said the band's Navigator.
The Freestylers will be returning to the States in late July to mount a headlining tour.

ANAHEIM, California — Creed vocalist Scott Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti will start working nights this week as they resume writing the follow-up to 1999's smash Human Clay.
Refreshed from taking the holidays off, the songwriting duo plans to buckle down four nights a week and pen an album that intensifies the larger-than-life feel of its predecessor.

"It's gonna be more extreme on all extremities — the harder stuff a little harder, the epic stuff a little more epic," Tremonti said Saturday.

Creed plan to spend the next few months writing before heading into the studio in July and hopefully releasing the disc in October or November. Tremonti said the band, which worked with longtime friend and producer John Kurzweg on both My Own Prison (1997) and Human Clay, has not picked a producer for the album.

The spiritual Florida rockers parted ways with bass player and founding member Brian Marshall in August and hired Brett Hestla as their touring bassist. Hestla will be working on an album with his group Virgos while Creed are recording their LP as a trio, but the bands are considering a joint fall tour after both albums hit stores. Hestla said he would play both sets.

Tremonti, Hestla and Creed drummer Scott Phillips attended last weekend's National Association of Music Merchants trade show in Anaheim, where Paul Reed Smith Guitars unveiled Tremonti's new signature model.

Tremonti said he had been working with PRS to design the guitar for about a year. "It's the baddest guitar on the planet. It's a technically perfect, thick, massive-sounding guitar. I think it's the best in the world today."
Creed, who cleaned up at several recent award ceremonies, are up for two Grammys next month. "With Arms Wide Open" is nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Rock Song, the latter of which would go to its songwriters, Tremonti and Stapp.

"A Grammy would be great — I'm just not gonna count on it," Tremonti said. "We've won a lot of awards this year, and I'm happy about 'em. If we don't win a Grammy, we don't win a Grammy. We've got a lot more albums ahead. But we're up for two of them, so we'll keep our fingers crossed."

The Freestylers have unleashed their brand of multi-styled, B-Boy flow with "Here We Go," the group's first U.S. single and video from its debut LP, "We Rock Hard." But rather than rest and ride out the success of the current material, the Freestylers have already begun work on material and lining up collaborators for the next record.
In a recent interview with MTV News, Freestylers DJ and co-founder Aston Harvey talked about the band's wish list for record number two, which he hopes will include cuts with such rap and hip-hop luminaries as the Sugar Hill Gang and the Dust Brothers.
"Yeah, we've approached Jurassic 5 for the next album," Harvey said of the next Freestylers record,
Harvey said that a new Freestylers album probably wouldn't drop until early 2000, but noted that the group had already laid down several basic tracks for the project and that other vocalists may be sought out to expand the band's sound even further. The Freestylers currently employ Tenor Fly and Navigator as lead men, but have also utilized the lyrical skills of Soul Sonic Force and Definition of Sound both in concert and on "We Rock Hard."
The Freestylers have just completed a handful of promotional dates with the Lo Fidelity Allstars, and are next scheduled to play alongside Blink-182, Kid Rock, Sugar Ray, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers at this year's KROQ Weenie Roast and Luau, set for June 19 at Irvine Meadows in Irvine, California.

British break beat outfit the Freestylers has arrived on the shores of America with a slamming new video for "Here We Go," the first U.S. single from the band's debut album, "We Rock Hard."
Formed in 1996 by DJ-producers Aston Harvey, Andrew Galea, and Matt Cantor, the Freestylers built a rep via a string of singles that incorporated classic b-boy beats, old school samples, and a variety of vocalists and rappers -- including Tenor Fly, Navigator, Soul Sonic Force, and Definition of Sound.
The stylish new video for "Here We Go" combines the desert look of the "Road Warrior" films with the destructive action of a demolition derby, although the Freestylers recently told MTV News that the post-apocalyptic concept caught the group a little off guard when it arrived on the set for the clip.
"We saw the treatment for [the video]," explained Harvey,
"We did it in L.A.," added Don Weekes from Definition of Sound, "and it's kind of like a desert shot, as you'll see. It was cool. But yeah, it was just a day that we were on the actual shoot. But there were four days of stunt stuff and all the other going on [in the video]. So, it was fun. It was cool."
The Freestylers just completed a short run of opening dates for the Lo Fidelity Allstars, and the band has just been added to the lineup of this year's KROQ Weenie Roast, slated for June 19 at Irvine Meadows in Irvine, California (see "Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Chili Peppers To Headline KROQ Weenie Roast").

Metallica, Limp Bizkit, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the acts announced on the lineup for the 7th Annual KROQ Weenie Roast and Luau, which will take place on June 19 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
The Lo Fidelity Allstars, Eve 6, the Freestylers, Lit, and (at press time) the errant Pennywise are scheduled to perform on the event's second stage. On the KROQ show "Loveline" Monday night, Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge drunkenly demanded that hosts Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew introduce the band onstage (see "Pennywise Guitarist Holds 'Loveline' Hosts Hostage In Drunken Fit").
The tickets are only available as giveaways to KROQ listeners at this point, but they will be going on sale to the public shortly. The proceeds will be donated to Jobs for Future/Homeboy Industries, an organization targeting gainful employment for at-risk youth.
