British doom metal duo Eterne was formed in the early 1990s by singer/guitarist David Dando and keyboardist/programmer Martyn Lear; originally dubbed Eldritch in honor of the Sisters of Mercy, they first attracted attention with their demo The Endless, resulting in a contract with Candlelight Records.
