After more than a year of recording several albums' worth of material on several continents with a trio of their most trusted collaborators, U2 have narrowed down the track listing for their upcoming 12th CD to 11 songs.

No Line on the Horizon, due out on March 3, will kick off with the single "Get on Your Boots," which will premiere on Monday on Dublin radio station 2FM. The song will available as a digital download on February 15 (and the physical version will be out the next day).

The full track listing for the album, according to U2's Web site is:

"No Line on the Horizon"
"Magnificent"
"Moment of Surrender"
"Unknown Caller"
"I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight"
"Get On Your Boots"
"Stand Up Comedy"
"Fez — Being Born"
"White as Snow"
"Breathe"
"Cedars of Lebanon"

The album was recorded with producers Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite in sessions that kicked off in Fez, Morocco, then traveled to the band's studio in Dublin, Ireland, and wrapped up in New York and London.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine recently, guitarist the Edge described the title track as "very raw and very to the point." Bono said the song "Crazy Tonight" is "kind of like this album's 'Beautiful Day' — it has that kind of joy to it."

Though dates have not yet been announced, U2 are expected to hit the road in support of the album this summer, their first tour as part of their multimillion-dollar deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

U2 will participate in the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama on Sunday (January 18) when they perform at the Lincoln Memorial for "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration," which will be broadcast on HBO that night. They'll join a roster of performers that includes Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Usher, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, Will.I.Am and Stevie Wonder.

Massive Attack's Robert "3D" Del Naja wants nothing to do with a potential military attack.

Del Naja joined Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn and producer extraordinaire Brian Eno (U2, David Bowie) in signing a petition that voices opposition to British involvement in a military strike on Iraq, according to a spokesperson for the Campaign for Nuclear Development.

The document was delivered to 10 Downing Street, home to the office of Prime Minister Tony Blair, on Wednesday.

"Under the present circumstances, we believe an invasion of Iraq would be unjustifiable and could have potentially horrific ramifications," the petition reads. "It would open a Pandora's box which may be impossible to close. ... We urge the British government to announce that it will not support any military assault being planned by the U.S.A. and will listen to both world opinion and the clear views of its own electorate."

Albarn and Del Naja, who have designed and placed ads in the U.K. weekly New Musical Express intended to raise awareness to the issue of Britain's participation in a U.S.-led attack on Iraq, have sided with the CND and the Stop the War coalition. The organizations are staging an anti-war demonstration in London on September 28.

More producers have hopped aboard Bono's "What's Going On" benefit project, and they've brought artists from their respective musical worlds along with them.

A Neptunes-produced hip-hop mix and a Brian Eno-produced British rock mix will be among the nine versions available when the Marvin Gaye remake is released October 30.

The Neptunes recruited LL Cool J, Fabolous, Da Brat, Mobb Deep, Noreaga, Royce Da 5'9", Queen Latifah, Sonja Blade and Angie Martinez for their "This One's for You Mix."

Bono, his U2 bandmate the Edge, and Coldplay singer Chris Martin are featured on the "London Version" by venerable producer/performer Eno, whose past clients include U2 and David Bowie.

Other mixes include the "Pop Rox Mix" by Mike Mangini (Extreme, Baha Men), along with previously announced dance remixes by Moby and Junior Vasquez, a rock mix produced by Fred Durst, an R&B mix by Jermaine Dupri, and a pop mix by Mick G (Christina Aguilera, 'NSYNC) (see "Durst, Aguilera, Stefani Hope To Open People's Eyes With 'What's Going On' Videos").

The original all-star remake, produced by Dupri, includes Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Eve, Nelly Furtado, Nona Gaye, Savage Garden's Darren Hayes, Ja Rule, Alicia Keys, Staind's Aaron Lewis, Jennifer Lopez, Nas, Nelly, 'NSYNC, P. Diddy, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and Michael Stipe (see "Fred Durst, P. Diddy, Aaron Lewis, More Join In On Gaye Remake").

The Roots' ?uestlove and Wyclef Jean play drums and guitar, respectively, on Dupri's original and R&B versions.

Proceeds from the single will be divided between the original cause of the Global AIDS Alliance and the United Way's September 11th Fund.

Leigh Blake, founder of Artists Against AIDS Worldwide, organized the "What's Going On" project with Bono.

AAAW is dedicated to raising funds and awareness to stop the spread of AIDS, especially in Africa, Blake said recently. The organization's goals include making anti-AIDS drugs cheaper and more available to the poor in Africa, giving debt relief to the poorest affected countries, and encouraging rich nations to donate to the international fight against AIDS.

Specifically, the organization has asked President Bush and the U.S. Congress to implement a $1 billion emergency supplemental appropriation to the Global AIDS Alliance on or before World AIDS Day, December 1.

The Global AIDS Alliance is asking music fans to call or write the president or their congressional representatives to encourage them to implement the bill. More information is available at <a href="http://www.globalaidsalliance.com"target="_blank">www.globalaidsalliance.com. AAAW's official Web site, www.aaaw.org, launches Tuesday and will also have information about the fight against AIDS.

U2, Bob Geldolf, the Corrs and other Irish performers appeared live on an Irish TV tribute Friday to the victims of the Omagh bombing. The Irish publication "Oh Yeah" reports that U2 opened and closed the show with "North And South Of the River" and "All I Want Is You" respectively, and that Bono spoke at length about the terrorist act that killed dozens of people and injured hundreds more.

"The only grain of hope that you can possibly glean from this terror," said the singer, "is that this has to be the end of it."

The Corrs, who had helped organize the tribute which took place in front of the survivors and their families, played R.E.M's "Everybody Hurts." Bob Geldof read from the WB Yeats poem 'The Second Coming' and performed "The Great Song Of Indifference."

Noel Gallagher had also been expected at the event, but he was apparently ill and sent a taped message and song -- an early demo recording of "She's Electric" -- instead.

In other U2 news, "Oh
Yeah" also reports that occasional U2 producer Brian Eno was the guest at a lecture last week and imparted some interesting tidbits about the band's next album, which is just under way. The producer, responding to a question from the floor that asked if U2 had any ideas or themes for the new album, told the audience that they were attempting to "create joy" with the project which was not an easy thing to do. Guitarist The Edge had earlier told Britain's "New Musical Express" that the new record was going to be "optimistic."

In other Omagh news, the track listing for the tribute album has been confirmed. Performances include:

1. Liam Neeson 'The Cure At Troy' (Seamus Heaney poem)
2. Sinead O' Connor 'Chiquitita'
3. The Divine Comedy 'Sunrise'
4. Boyzone 'Words'
5. The Corrs 'What Can I do?'
6. Daniel O' Donnell 'Beyond The Great Divide'
7. Van Morrison 'The Healing Game' (acoustic version)
8. Ash 'I'm Gonna Fall'
9. U2 'Please'

10. Juliet Turner 'Broken Things'
11. Paul Brady 'The Island'
12. Omagh Community Choir 'Across The Bridge Of Hope'
13. Enya 'Silent Night'

The New York avant garde music ensemble called Bang On A Can will play an unusual show this Saturday night when they stage a live performance of Brian Eno's 1978 seminal ambient album "Music For Airports."

When the record first arrived (before "ambient" had any meaning in the music world), Eno said he meant ambient music to be an alternative to Muzak, and said he hoped it would be "as ignorable as it is interesting."

Eno made the ultra-sedate "Music For Airports" by assembling tape-recorded piano, synth and vocal riffs and putting them through a tape loop delay system.

Bang On A Can, which just released its own recording of "Music For Airports," will perform the piece live for the first time anywhere when they take the stage this weekend.

"This piece in a certain sense revolutionized how we think about music that normally we don't think about," the group's Michael Gordon told MTV News.

"As we were arranging this piece, and were unraveling

December 22 [7:55 EDT] -- U2's Bono and producer/artist Brian Eno were among those on hand to help opera star Luciano Pavarotti celebrate the opening of a Bosnian music therapy center that bears his name.

Pavarotti raised the bulk of the funding for the project with various charity endeavors, including two recorded all-star concerts in his hometown of Modena, Italy. The center, which cost close to $6 million, was built on the war-torn ruins of an elementary school in the town of Mostar. It hosts a music school as well as a recording studio.

During the war, sponsors like Pavarotti, Eno, Bono and David Bowie had concentrated their efforts on the London-based charity War Child, for the aid of the children in the war torn county. The past two years, the focus shifted to the building of the center, an idea suggested by the charity.

According to reports from Reuters and Britan's PA News, Pavarotti and friends arrived by helicopter to dozens of children who sang for
him as the opera star made his way to the center to unveil a plaque. He spoke at the ceremony as well as to reporters at a press conference.

"Listening to children from two sides of the divided city singing together was "one of the most unforgettable days of my life," said Pavarotti. "In 1995 we were looking for something to do for the benefit of kids. Today here we are where a dream is coming true," said Pavarotti. "It is so gratifying and makes us feel we need to go on working this forever."
