Full Biography

  1. After achieving whirlwind success in their own homeland, the British alternative rock five-piece Electrasy naturally wanted to break America and destruct the corporate mainstream. Comprised of vocalist Ali McKinnell, guitarists Nigel Nisbet and Steve Atkins, bassist Alex Meadows, keyboardist Jim Hayden, and drummer Paul Pridmore, Electrasy yearned to mimic the lead of their successors such as Blur, Oasis, and the Verve. Their single "Morning Afterglow" hit the U.K. Top 20 in 1998 and the group was pegged the hardest working band in the land after playing 157 shows in a nine-month period. Fast praise quickly took a turn for the worse when Electrasy found themselves without a label, therefore sacking their management and inking a deal with Arista in 1999. It was their live performances that got the English media buzzing, leading Electrasy to release their American debut In Here We Fall in September 2000. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
