DJ Touche

Former Wiseguys mastermind DJ Touche was a major force in the big beat scene, pioneering the emerging genre through his production work for most of the mid- to late '90s. After establishing himself as a headlining DJ as well, Touche gave up on recording others and began a strenuous tour of famous clubs to work out the kinks in his live show. Growing a reputation as a creative and innovative mixer of songs, he decided he wanted to capture the emotions and introspection that a lengthy night of dancing can provide listeners on record. Working on a mix disc that would be more than just a collection of tracks, DJ Touche dove headfirst into his mission and emerged with Ultraviolet in 2002. Concentrating on hypnotic and moody dance tracks that would help the listener move towards self-reflection through music, the album was a remarkably creative achievement considering it was little more than a well-crafted mix. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
