Bo Bice, Bice, Baby: If you're feelin' the Bo, you'll want to reach for the DualDisc version of his big debut, The Real Thing. It carries not only three songs the wannabe "Idol" recorded with his band Sugar Money, but also a 22-minute day-in-the-life video with acoustic performances, and studio and promo-appearance footage. Tracks on both LP versions include: "U Make Me Better," "Lie ... It's Alright" and "Valley of Angels."

Yankee Doodles: Run out of "Gasolina"? This week you can top off your tank with Daddy Yankee's Barrio Fino en Directo, a heavy CD+DVD set with gallons of reggaeton: live cuts, new recordings featuring Snoop Dogg and Paul Wall, a documentary, videos, a trailer for the movie "Talento de Barrio" (starring Daddy, of course), photo gallery and more.

Re: Re-Releases: C'mon, everyone's doing it ... no, really, they are. This week finds Bow Wow slapping a DVD onto the DualDisc version of his summer release and calling it Wanted (Reloaded) (the "ultimate collector's edition," in case you needed extra goading). In it you'll find exclusives like his "Big Dreams" mini-movie, videos (including the unreleased "Caviar" featuring Snoop) and a poster. (Attention fans: also be on the lookout for Bow Wow and Omarion's "Scream Tour IV Festival 2005: Heartthrobs Live" DVD, also out this week.)

Coheed and Cambria — who, aside from making eyebrows fashionable again, have had nothing else in common with Bow Wow up until this point — are reissuing their vehemently verbose Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV - Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness with a DVD. Like Wanted (Reloaded), this limited, supercalifrajalisticexpialidocious Apollo has a mini-movie, two videos, six vignettes created for MTV and a 12-page booklet. "We know it comes quickly off the heels of the regular release of Good Apollo," the band says on its Web site, "but we feel that the bonus disc is worth the price alone, and hope you do too."

In case you forgot to pick up Chris Brown's self-titled bow from a couple of weeks ago, you'll have the chance to choose between that edition or this week's DualDisc, teeming with a video for "Run It!;" behind-the-scenes, concert and interview footage; and some images.

The pint-sized rapper, role-playing rockers and running rookie will find good company in Madonna, whose limited Confessions on a Dance Floor - Special Edition slipcase has a 40-page picture book, mostly blank "journal" and bonus track, "Fighting Spirit."

As for actually retooling the original release, leave that chore to Beck. He handed his latest album over to the Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock, the Dust Brothers' John King and Boards of Canada, and they've reconstructed it as Guerolito. (If you want extra-fresh cuts, head over to Beck.com, where he just posted four unissued tracks.)

Family Affairs: Ludacris Presents Disturbing Tha Peace drops in two forms: as a standard, 17-track disc featuring Jamie Foxx, Bobby Valentino, I-20 and others; and as a limited-edition set with a bonus DVD. Spelling-wise, Snoop's got something in common with Luda, although his Bigg Snoop Dogg Presents: Welcome to Tha Chuuch - Tha Album features a different cast of characters: 213 homie Nate Dogg, Daz Dillinger and Kurupt.

Getting Crafty: A handful of acts have straightforward concert releases out this week — Howie Day, Lamb of God and Erasure among them — but Vancouver, British Columbia's Secret Mommy provide a different take on what constitutes a "live release." Documented with handmade condenser microphones in various high schools, martial-arts dojos and day cares, Very Rec is a modern-day field recording or, as the band likes to call it, "a cut-and-paste exploration of activity and movement, obscured by mild absurdism." Tracks include: "Tennis Court," "Yoga Studio" and "Weight Room." No stranger to craftiness, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening curated the 2003 edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival and enlisted an indie-rock dream team to helm it: Elliott Smith, Modest Mouse, Iggy and the Stooges and Sonic Youth. They're all featured in the All Tomorrow's Parties: 3.1 package, as is a Groening-illustrated pull-out poster.

Song Title of the Week:
"It's in the Subtext" ("King Kong" soundtrack ... hey, it's a slow week)

An attorney for Howie Day entered a not-guilty plea for the singer/songwriter in Dane County Circuit Court in Madison, Wisconsin, Thursday morning. The 23-year-old faces two misdemeanor charges stemming from an arrest last week.

Day is charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property, according to the court clerk. He was arrested on March 25 in Madison after police responded to a call made by two women aboard his tour bus who claim Day locked one of them in a bathroom and smashed the other's cell phone. Day allegedly grew angry when one of the women rejected his sexual advances (see "Howie Day Arrested For Allegedly Locking Fan In Bus Bathroom").

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for April 29.

Police arrested Day on three charges, but one count of intimidation of a victim was dropped by prosecutors. If convicted, Day faces a maximum of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine on the disorderly conduct charge and nine months and a $10,000 fine for criminal damage to property.

The incident occurred while Day was on tour promoting his latest album, last year's Stop All the World Now. The trek continues through May 4 and includes an appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on May 1.

Day posted a message on his Web site Wednesday evening, apologizing to his fans and everyone involved in the incident and offering an explanation for his actions.

"Basically, a few people were on my tour bus after the show and things got a little out of hand, stupid things were said, feelings were hurt and a cell phone was damaged," Day wrote. "My lawyer tells me I will be given an opportunity to address these claims at the proper time, and, of course, I will do so.

"Unfortunately ... some wildly inaccurate and sensational stories seem to be circulating," the post continued. "I can assure you that there was never any improper physical contact, nor has any ever been alleged by anyone involved, and nobody was 'locked away in a bathroom.' "

Singer Howie Day was arrested Thursday in Madison, Wisconsin, and charged with three misdemeanor counts after he allegedly locked a woman in the bathroom of his tour bus and smashed another woman's cell phone.

The singer is currently on tour opening for the Barenaked Ladies, and police said the incident occurred following a Wednesday night show at the Alliant Energy Center near the campus of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

"He apparently tried to stop a female from leaving his tour bus and some type of altercation ensued, and that's when we were contacted," Madison police officer Dan Merwin said. According to The Associated Press, the incident allegedly occurred when one of the women refused the 23-year-old Day's sexual advances. When her companion attempted to contact police, Day reportedly grabbed the woman's cell phone and smashed it.

Day was taken to the Dane County Jail early Thursday morning and released several hours later on $850 bail. Merwin said neither of the women was injured in the incident. Day was charged with three misdemeanors on Friday, including criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim. He is due back in court on April 1.

"That was probably wrong of me," Day told police of breaking the phone, according to the AP. "But I felt violated." Day is touring in support of his 2003 album, Stop All the World Now.

A spokesperson for Day's label, Epic Records, could not be reached for comment at press time.

The third installment of music from the hit series "Dawson's Creek" is out now. Fans looking in record stores for the new LP featuring musical accompaniments to the adventures of Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen will be searching in vain, however, as the album is only available online.

Beginning Tuesday (January 7), visitors to www.dawsonscreekcds.com are not only able to purchase one of eight pre-packaged CDs, they can also create a custom album from more than 50 selections, including cuts from singer/songwriter Aimee Mann, jazzy electronic dance diva Vanessa Daou and college-rock troubadour Howie Day.

For the lazy folks who want their decisions made for them, never has lethargy sounded so good. Among the eight pre-compiled offerings are titles such as Dawson's Picks, which features Daou's "Show Me," Joey's Favorites, with Day's "She Says," and Pacey's Songs, including "Underwater" by Switchfoot. The collection would be remiss without a requisite batch of love songs, and Dawson-Joey Moments and Pacey-Joey Moments should do well to split the show's fans into the old-school devotees and relatively green newcomers. The final disc of the set, Most Popular Songs, automatically groups the most-selected songs each month.

Each 14-track disc, custom and pre-assembled alike, will sell for $11.95.

The first "Dawson's" album, Songs From Dawson's Creek, was released in April 1999 and featured contributions from Paula Cole, Sixpence None the Richer and Jessica Simpson. It was followed 18 months later by Songs From Dawson's Creek, Volume 2, which included cuts from Evan & Jaron, Pete Yorn and Five for Fighting.

You don't need to hear it from a Korn Korrospondent (whatever happened to them, by the way?) to know that the band is "Here to Stay." Their latest album, Untouchables, is this week's big new release.

Nipping at Korn's heels are those lovable Osbournes, whose Family Album compilation includes a few oldies and some new goodies — Kelly's rendition of "Papa Don't Preach" and Pat Boone's TV-theme version of "Crazy Train" among them.

Former Tony! Toni! Toné! crooner Raphael Saadiq releases Instant Vintage, featuring D'Angelo, Angie Stone, and TLC's T-Boz, while They Might Be Giants fans say Yes to the band's latest effort, No!.

With renewed vision and a new label to express it on, David Bowie serves up Heathen, his latest offering, which features guest spots from Dave Grohl and the Who's Pete Townshend.

Wanna see where all the beef began? Check out The Difference, the compilation featuring KRS-One's first dis track to Nelly ("Clear 'Em Out") as it hits shelves as well.

And some tribute albums — to Disturbed and System of a Down — may be cool, but it seems like just about anyone can get this type of recognition these days. What's next, a tribute to Sum41? Oh, wait ...
