'Punk'd' Taps Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus For Comeback

MTV's legendary hidden-camera show will re-launch with rotating cast of guest hosts on March 29 at 10 p.m. ET.

One of MTV's most beloved series, "Punk'd," is gearing up for a fresh round of hidden-camera celebrity gotchas when it re-launches next month with a whole new look and feel.

The prank show from mastermind/ executive producer Ashton Kutcher, which originally aired from 2003 to 2007, will hit the air at 10 p.m. ET on March 29 as part of a new hour-long block of original programming that will also include a "Jersey Shore" spin-off show entitled, "The Pauly D Project." Check out the 15 most memorable moments from the original "Punk'd" show here. While Kutcher enjoyed taking down his pals and unsuspecting celebrities last time, the 2.0 version of "Punk'd" will feature a rotating cast of celebrity hosts each week. Among those lined up to fill the "Two and a Half Men" star's shoes are: Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Kellan Lutz, Hayden Panettiere, Bam Margera and "Punk'd" alum Dax Shepard, among others. They will prank their fellow Hollywood pals, including Khloé Kardashian Odom, "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey, Demi Lovato and many more. Not only will the celebrity hosts take the punking to a new and unnecessarily complex level, but for the first time in series history, viewers will also get a behind-the-scenes peek at what it takes to pull off these elaborate pranks. During its initial run, "Punk'd" pulled some all-time classic gags on such unsuspecting targets, one of which occurred in the series premiere, when a then-22-year-old Justin Timberlake broke down in tears when he thought government agents were seizing his home because of $900,000 in unpaid taxes. Other classic bits included one in which Beyoncé is tricked into believing that she caused a giant Christmas tree to topple over on some presents intended for a group of underprivileged children, ruining their holiday. Miley Cyrus has never shied away from speaking her mind, and over the weekend she posted a photo of her latest body ink on Twitter: an equal-sign tattoo on her ring finger. In addition to sharing with the world her pro-gay rights stance via tat, she tweeted the message, "All LOVE is equal." However, the photo quickly prompted a debate on her Twitter account when fans began to respond to Miley's tattoo with mixed feelings. "Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn't," Miley tweeted to one fan who questioned her belief in God after displaying her support of the gay community. "GOD is the only judge honey. GOD is love." But when her fans began attacking the fan who questioned her, Miley defended her for sharing her opinion with the world. "Dude everyone lay off ... Love u! Everyone is entitled 2 opinions! If u don't stand 4 something you'll fall for anything." Her Twitter profile shares a similar message: "Let your light shine. Be a source of strength & courage. Share your wisdom. RADIATE LOVE." This isn't the first time that Miley's sharing her beliefs on Twitter has sparked debate. In a Parade magazine interview in March 2010, Cyrus said that one of the reasons she had quit Twitter for a time was that she was getting angry tweets from fans who didn't agree with her support of gay marriage. She returned to Twitter earlier this year. "There has been so much controversy sometimes about what I've said or done because I believe there are no mistakes, because God is the only one who can judge us," Cyrus explained. "That's the reason I deleted my Twitter account because I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got such hate mail about my being a bad person." Miley Cyrus Surprises Lauren Alaina On 'American Idol'

Superstars swing through the hallways of "American Idol" on a weekly basis, but on Wednesday (April 27), Lauren Alaina was greeted by one of her very own idols. Miley Cyrus surprised the finalist with an impromptu visit during her mentoring session.

With the assistance of Babyface and Jimmy Iovine, Alaina's weekly training session was running smoothly as she rehearsed her cover of Carole King's "Where You Lead." "About halfway through my meeting with Jimmy, he had a big surprise for me," Alaina gushed to viewers in a pre-taped segment on the show. "Miley Cyrus walks in. I was like [jaw drops open] ... she was so nice and she gave me such great advice." With her long curly locks and dressed in an all-black ensemble, Cyrus offered a hug to the aspiring songstress and shared a few friendly words of advice. "I listen to your music all the time. You're awesome," the "Hannah Montana" star told the 16-year-old. "The most important thing you can do is just do it for yourself because you will always have mean comments. People will always talk about you and that's never going to change." Alaina's impromptu visit from Miley seemed to have boosted her confidence for Wednesday night's performance. From those high-hitting notes to her inviting a male audience member onstage, the contestant playfully strutted, ending her performance with a chuckle. News of Cyrus' surprise appearance on "Idol" hit the Internet early Wednesday morning when E! Online reported that Iovine asked the superstar to be a mentor as a result of a remark he'd made earlier in the competition. A few weeks back, Alaina chose to sing Cyrus' hit song "The Climb," which led Iovine to tell the contestant she was "a much stronger singer than Miley Cyrus." Winning? In what can only be described as one of the more bizarre friendships to originate on Twitter, Miley Cyrus and Charlie Sheen have formed something of a bond on the social networking site. Cyrus, who just recently returned to Twitter — she left back in 2009, telling followers it was at the suggestion of on-again, off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth — has become one of the former "Two and a Half Men" star's record-breaking 3.4 million-plus followers. On Sunday, Cyrus tweeted from her new account, @gypsyhearttour: "Do not fear...the Sheenius is here!' I'm not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons. My fans and to follow Charlie Sheen." Since then, the 18-year-old has been trading tweets with the troubled 45-year-old actor, who is currently on the road with his shaky My Violent Torpedo of Truth tour. "Dear Miley, Welcome back to Twitter! Always felt you were epic! Now you proved it! Thanks for the love," Sheen wrote in response to Cyrus, to which she replied, "I always felt the same about you! You have taught me everything I know about WINNING. Duh!" Cyrus, who won the Favorite Movie Actress at the Kids' Choice Awards over the weekend, shared on Monday, "Makin dinner for my fam right now. Honey sesame chicken, garlic rice & salad. There's only one thing missing & that's Charlie Sheen." Cyrus even gave a shout-out to Conan O'Brien in one of her Sheen-based tweets, when she posted, "The only person that even comes close to winning as hard core as @charliesheen is @ConanOBrien =] I will see ya tonight @ 11 COB! TWEET ME!" Of course, this isn't the first time the former "Hannah Montana" star has caused a stir with her Twitter conversations. In October 2009, she aired out what was believed to be a fued with fellowDisney starlets Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Cyrus posted a picture of herself with Lovato, who had become close to Gomez, and wrote, "Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that hollywood crap. @ddlovato I miss you = ]" Cyrus also had a minor Twitter battle with ex-boyfriend Justin Gaston that year. In one post Gaston wrote, "People mistake stupidity for bravery way to easily." The "Party in the USA" singer then shot back, "Yeah. I love when people mistake bravery with writing a few stupid tweets trying to make it seem like they don't care. You're afraid to love." For 23 years, Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards has been an event in which celebrities can truly let loose. After all, it's hard to have an ego when you're getting covered in green slime or being inducted into the Arm Fart Hall of Fame (we're looking at you, Josh Duhamel). Nick's 2011 awards show, which aired lived on the network Saturday from Los Angeles, kept with its tradition of stars finding themselves in some truly outrageous situations. Host Jack Black, who was at the helm for the third time (he last helped hand out those coveted orange kaleidoscope blimps in 2008), kicked things off with an over-the-top musical number. The funnyman, wearing a black leather jumpsuit with flames — the first of many quirky wardrobe changes — was joined by a group of dancers to perform his own rendition of the Black Eyed Peas' hit "I Gotta Feelin'."

Black then introduced the group, as the "Jack Black Eyed Peas," and joined them onstage for "The Time (Dirty Bit)." BEP, who later won the award for Best Music Group, then sang their next single, "Just Can't Get Enough." The first award of the evening was given out to Johnny Depp, who won Favorite Movie Actor for his performance in "Alice in Wonderland." Depp, who emerged from backstage, told the kiddie crowd and voters it was "truly a pleasure to receive this award that comes from you guys. I appreciate it." After apologizing for beating Black in the category, Depp told Nick viewers, "You guys are the future; take good care of us." The actor then proceeded to get in on the fun, sliming the group of young fans who stood at the foot of the stage. Depp's stunt led to one of the evening's most memorable — and by far, funniest — moments when "Arthur" actor Russell Brand and "Modern Family" star Rico Rodriguez appeared onstage soon after to present the award for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (the blimp eventually went to Eddie Murphy, who got the crowd to sing him "Happy Birthday," for his role in "Shrek Forever After"). Before Brand and Rodriguez could even begin their banter at the podium, the freshly slimed youngsters began throwing the green, gooey mess at the two stars. In response to the mayhem, Brand declared, "I'm never having children." Brand continued, as he guarded Rodriguez from the kiddie coup, "I am English! I am your leader! You must not do this, I am royalty! You are all going to juvenile hall. You children are going to prison. You are bad children!" Brand, who is voicing a character in the animated feature "Hop," cried that the moment was not in the script, then joked, "Johnny, I wished you'd drowned them." They weren't the only stars to get slimed during the broadcast. Heidi Klum, who almost took a spill thanks to her sky-high heels, got hit, as did Jason Segel, who received a slime slushie courtesy of Jane Lynch. Even Snoop Doog — who joined pop-rock group and Nick stars Big Time Rush for their song "Boyfriend" — got doused in the green stuff. As Willow Smith performed her hits "21st Century Girl" and "Whip My Hair," the 10-year-old was cheered on by her dad, Will Smith, and brother, Jaden Smith, who were in the audience. The final big award of the evening went to Miley Cyrus, who won for Favorite Movie Actress for "The Last Song." The former "Hannah Montana" star attempted to put gossip to rest during her acceptance speech as she thanked her family for supporting her career. Cyrus will no doubt get fans wondering about the status of her relationship with "Last Song" co-star and on-again, off-again beau Liam Hemsworth, whom she thanked for "helping me make movie magic" in the 2010 drama. The Big Help Award, which was presented by Rosario Dawson, went to singer/actor Justin Timberlake for his devotion to charities, particularly the work he does with Shriners Hospital for Children. In between cracking jokes about burping and getting the crowd to cheer if they had ever helped anyone, Timberlake took the time to tell his young fans, "Your heart is the most beautiful part, so don't forget to use it." In addition to telling kids they can do their part to help, even with major issues such as the crisis in Japan, the star said something bound to make any adult watching elated: "Listen to your parents!" Finally, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian hit the stage to help give away the last award of the night for Favorite TV Show, which went to the kid-friendly Nickelodeon hit "iCarly." Black kept a high energy throughout the show, including some interactions with his "Kung Fu Panda 2" character, Po, — one of which featured a cameo from Britney Spears in a pre-recorded segment. Singer will kick off new set of shows on April 29 in Ecuador.

Miley Cyrus is ready to take her music back on the road. The teen superstar is in the planning process for a full-scale international tour, E! News confirms. Miley will kick off the tour on April 29 at Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa in Quito, Ecuador. Then she will take the show to Lima, Peru, at Explanada del Monumental, on May 1. The singer/actress, who has already begun a workout regime to prep for the tour, is set to announce more dates soon. There are no immediate plans for her to play shows in the United States. "Miley has a huge fanbase worldwide," a source told E! News. "She's pumped that her schedule has opened up and allowed her to perform for fans abroad." For those who might not be able to see her on tour, Cyrus has resumed tweeting. No, the star has not reinstated her account, like Demi Lovato, but instead will send messages from the Twitter account of production team Rock Mafia. Cyrus is attached to a big-screen adaptation of the group's music video for their track "The Big Bang," which she starred in with Kevin Zegers. "This is my new way to connect. When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia ROCK MAFIA FOREVER. x MC," she tweeted, including a picture of herself and the group's Antonina Armato, who added, "Writing with Miley on a Rainy Sunday #Heaven!" Cyrus has been meeting with lots of music producers recently. Last week she met with "Party in the U.S.A." producer Dr. Luke. Sources tell MTV News that Miley is interested in writing more for other artists.

Miley Cyrus May Release 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn,' Bret Michaels Says

Poison frontman says he expects the teen star's cover version to be issued as a single later this year.

Last year, Miley Cyrus declared that she Can't Be Tamed. The album features a cover of the Poison classic "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" that the teen star recorded with the glam-metal band's frontman, Bret Michaels, himself. And now, according to Michaels, the track likely will be released later in 2011 as a single ... finally. The Poison singer told to E! News that Cyrus' label initially had intended to issue her version of the song as a single much sooner, but those plans were sidetracked thanks to a bit of tabloid drama involving Michaels. "The record label was supposed have to this huge humongous release of 'Every Rose,' " the rocker explained. "It was going to be Miley's next-step song, but because of that, they stepped back. It really bummed me out. I worked hard on that." The "that" he's referring to is his rumored affair with Miley's mom, Tish, which allegedly may have contributed to the short separation of Cyrus' parents. Now, with that relationship back on track, so apparently are plans to release the song, which seems to really please the Poison frontman. "I think this is the song that will cross her over," Michaels said. "If it happens, it's going to be a big hit." A rep at Miley's record label had not responded to MTV News request for comment about plans for the song's released as a single at press time. Last year, MTV News spoke to Michaels about working on "Every Rose" with Miley, and he really sang the teen star's praises in the music-cred department. "She's one of the few musicians — and I want to use that word, 'cause she can actually play and sing — she's one of the few people who can pull it off and give it her own flare and make it sound good," Michaels offered. "I gotta tell you something — she nailed the song. She really knew what she was doing. She got in there and picked the guitar up ... It was one of those nights that just worked. It was fun ... After announcing their split last year Billy Ray Cyrus now says that he and his wife of 17 years, Tish, have decided to reconcile. "I dropped the divorce," Miley Cyrus' dad told the hosts of "The View" during a pre-taped appearance on the show airing Friday, according to USA Today. "I wanted to put my family back together." Cyrus, who appeared on the show to promote his new album, I'm an American, out in June, said he and his family are working out their problems. "Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world," he said. "And I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that, it's been quite some time ... and to answer your question, things are really the best they've ever been." Cyrus also seemed to retract the statements he made in a GQ interview, in which he said that his and Miley's hit Disney series "Hannah Montana" "destroyed" their family. "I feel like I kind of got my Miley back in a way," he said. "I feel like we are the daddy and the daughter that we were before 'Hannah Montana' happened. I love 'Hannah Montana.' I love Disney. That didn't tear my family apart." The country singer did, however, say that fame had something to do with the family's troubles. "Now fame, fame is a different animal, you've got to be careful with that thing because it can ... all things considered, hey, it's all good."

When photos of Miley Cyrus outside of Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hit the Internet on Tuesday (March 15), gossip blogs claimed the star was stumbling around the L.A.-area hotspot after a night of partying. But sources close to Cyrus tell MTV News the rumors are all wrong. Miley was in a meeting with producer Dr. Luke at the hotel, where they discussed writing music for other artists. Luke and Cyrus worked together on her hit "Party in the U.S.A." According to sources, the teen superstar was actually blinded by the flashing lights of the paparazzi, not stumbling, as had been reported earlier on Tuesday. Last week, Cyrus made headlines defending her mom against paparazzi gathered outside of the California Chicken Cafe in West Hollywood, California. She confronted one of the photographers, telling him, "You just hit my mom with your camera, don't you ever do that again. You just almost hurt my mom. Don't you ever even think about it, for real." Cyrus has often expressed her displeasure with the celebrity photogs. "I just [want] people to know, I think in pictures I always look upset. It's because these cameras are following me. I just think it's really kind of unfair," she shared in a September video blog. "I know there are some people that maybe like that attention, but I'm not one of them. I really just want to be able to go on walks and enjoy where I live. ... The paparazzi really frustrate me, and it makes me really upset that I'm being followed around by men that I don't know, and for anyone else, it would be considered stalking. I don't know who those guys are. I don't know if they're good guys or bad guys. I don't necessarily care; I don't want anyone following me." In spite of the unwanted media attention, Cyrus is already having a good 2011. She recently showed off her funny side as a host on "Saturday Night Live" and she has two flicks, "LOL" and "So Undercover," set for release this year.

Paparazzi are warned: Young Hollywood is on the defense. Just a week after Justin Bieber flipped off the paps (and later apologized), Miley Cyrus is also taking a stand against the prying camera lenses of the celeb-obsessed. As a video posted online shows, the incident took place when a paparazzo ran up from behind Cyrus and her mom, Tish, as they were getting into their car after hitting up California Chicken Cafe in West Hollywood on Wednesday. Cyrus didn't seem to like how close the camera guy got to her mother, so she pushed his lens out of the way, confronting him for getting too invasive. "You just hit my mom with your camera," she told the man, pointing her finger at him. "Don't you ever do that again. You just almost hurt my mom. Don't you ever even think about it, for real." As the two women got into the car, the paparazzo still tried to get his photo, as he said, "I would never disrespect your mom like that." Cyrus has been vocal in the past about her frustrations with photographers following her around, noting that they are an intrusive by-product of her life in the public eye.
