  1. Solo experimental electronic pop artist Caroline Lufkin sings delicate vocal melodies over glitched IDM beats and dreamy, understated sound beds. Born in Okinawa, Japan, she was inspired to write songs by her older sister, Olivia, who had made a name for herself as a J-pop singer. In 2003, Caroline graduated from the Berklee School of Music in Boston and moved to Los Angeles to pursue music as a full-time career. In 2006, Temporary Residence Limited released her debut, Murmurs, an album of electronic ambient pop ballads built from the ground up using pianos, guitars, harps, bells, guitars, and strings. That content was remixed for 2008’s Murmurs Mixes, before Verdugo Hills was released in 2010. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
