Destiny's Child, C-Note, and Grenique were among the artists who participated in a charity event held last week in New York City to raise funds for WNBA player Kim Perot of the Houston Comets, who suffers from cancer.
The music meets fashion event also featured rapper Cha Cha, who took to the runway, and DJs Pete Rock & Cocoa Chanelle, who hit the turntables at various times throughout the evening. Proceeds from the show will go to Concept Cure, the WNBA's official cancer charity, to help fund Perot's treatment for cancer.
The Houston Comet guard, who was diagnosed over the winter with lung cancer that has since spread to her brain, has now stopped receiving traditional chemotherapy and now travels to New Mexico for alternative forms of treatment. As of press time, official figures had yet to be tabulated and released regarding how much money the charity event raised for Concept Cure.
