A Canadian émigré who now calls New Orleans his home base, Malcolm Burn is admittedly influenced deeply by the atmospheric style of Daniel Lanois. The producer first met his mentor while playing in Boys Brigade, an early-'80s Canadian glam band. Though the initial meeting was nothing more than a passing moment, Burn was eventually called to New Orleans by Lanois to help write the latter's solo album, Acadie. Since then, Burn has put his ethereal stamp on such hits as "Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin and the John Mellancamp album Human Wheels. ~ Steve Kurutz, All Music Guide
