Ex-Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has officially been charged over an altercation with airline and airport staff in England this past February.

According to Britain's "New Musical Express," Brown is alleged to have verbally abused and threatened a British Airways stewardess and captain during a flight from Paris to Manchester February 13, and scuffled with airport workers once the plane landed. Brown and band were on a promotional trip to France at the time to support his post-Roses solo debut, "Unfinished Monkey Business."

He's scheduled to appear at Manchester's City Magistrates' Court on October 22 and 23.

Meanwhile, Brown is set to play five secret shows around the U.K. starting this Friday, June 19, through to June 24. The concerts, in small club venues, are being announced not long before showtime by England's Radio 1. The dates are warm up spots for Brown's pending appearance at the Glastonbury Festival June 26. He has a number of other festival appearances on his plate this summer and plans a full scale tour of the U.K. this fall.

Former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown was remanded on bail in a Manchester courthouse today after pleading not guilty to threatening a British Airways pilot on a flight from Paris.

The British Press Association News reports that Brown is now scheduled for a pre-trial review April 29.

Details of the incident are sketchy, but according to PA News, Brown was returning from a promotional trip to Paris with his new band February 13 when the pilot radioed ahead and alerted the authorities to have Brown detained when they landed. He was charged with violating a public order section that relates to making verbal statements considered to be a threat of violence.

Brown released his new solo album, "Unfinished Monkey Business," in England last month, his first record since last recording with Stone Roses in 1994. The band broke up in 1996.
