One Direction, Big Time Rush Talk Joint Tour

Having already taped their "iCarly" appearance, the guys of One Direction will move another step closer to U.S. domination when they kick off their tour with Big Time Rush later this month. The two boy bands will meet up for the joint trek on February 24, just 10 days after U.K. natives One Direction drop their Valentine's Day-timed single, "What Makes You Beautiful," here in the States. MTV News got some exclusive scoop about the two bands' first meeting, which went down last weekend in the City of Angels. "We met Big Time Rush for the first time last weekend on the set of their show in L.A. They are really great guys and could not have been more welcoming and supportive," One Direction said in a statement to MTV News. "We also shared a lot of laughs! We can't wait to hit the road with them in the U.S. and having never been to New York before, the Radio City show is one we are all incredibly excited about!" BTR shared in 1D's excitement about the forthcoming jaunt. "We're excited to have One Direction come on tour with us in the U.S.," BTR's Carlos Pena Jr. added. "We are actually very similar on and off camera and we can't wait to have some fun on the road." (BTR officially kick off their tour on February 17, days before 1D are set to join them.) This marks a busy time for both bands. One Direction's debut album, Up All Night, drops March 13. Meanwhile BTR's original TV movie, "Big Time Movie," debuts on Nick on March 10. In it, the guys will cover classic Beatles tracks like "Help!," "A Hard Day's Night" and "We Can Work It Out," as well as songs from their album Elevate.

The boys of Big Time Rush have found a whole new voice for their second album, Elevate. James Maslow, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena and Kendall Schmidt worked tirelessly to put together an infectious pop album that will no doubt please fans of their hit Nickelodeon TV show, but could earn them some new followers as well.

"We spent almost a year creating it," Maslow recently told MTV News. "Between the four of us, we wrote eight out of the 12 songs, and everything from the album artwork to the title and, most importantly, the songs really have matured and are a better expression of who we are verses the first album, which was written for the TV show." For their second effort, Big Time Rush worked with some of the biggest producers in music, including Ryan Tedder, J.R. Rotem and former 'NSYNC member JC Chasez. Yet, they have a different 'NSYNC alum in mind for a dream collaboration: "[We] always talked about working with Justin Timberlake," Maslow revealed. Schmidt added, "We're huge fans of his music." Elevate has some stiff competition on the Billboard charts, including Rihanna's latest album, Talk That Talk, and Adele's 21.

"I don't care if we get to #1," Schmidt said. "The company that we are in is so incredible, to be considered with these people is an honor." Maslow added, "Those are great artists, but I think we kinda stay in our own little world as well." Big Time Rush To Sing National Anthem On Thanksgiving

Nickelodeon stars will precede Dallas Cowboys/ Miami Dolphins game.

To say this month has been a "Big Time Rush" for James Maslow, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena and Kendall Schmidt is an understatement. The boys from the hit Nickelodeon show released their sophomore album, Elevated, on Monday, just wrapped up shooting their new flick ("Big Time Movie") and on Thanksgiving, they will be singing the National Anthem before the start of the football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.

MTV News caught up with Big Time Rush on Tuesday (November 22) to talk about their big Turkey Day performance. "We are going to Dallas, which is where I grew up pretty much for 18 years of my life," Henderson said about performing in front of his hometown crowd at Cowboys Stadium. Most of the members of Big Time Rush are big-time Cowboys fans. "It's American's team," Schmidt said, while Maslow added, "Every American is a Cowboys fan." Not so fast, James: It seems Pena is torn between rooting for Dallas or his hometown team, the Dolphins. "I like Miami and the Dolphins; they're my home team," Pena explained. "But the Cowboys gave me this job to sing the National Anthem, so, who do you go with?" Well, Carlos, you might have a fellow Dolphins fan in Miami resident Enrique Iglesias, who will be performing the halftime show. If you are too busy with Thanksgiving Day plans to catch Big Time Rush in action, the group is planning to take their act on the road for their "Better With U" Tour.
